One of Australia's most merciless slab waves exists in Sydney and May in the middle of the Aussie autumn is a good time for this place to come alive which it did for two consecutive days back on the 7th & 8th. The first day is big and wild & the following day is a day that will go down in the big wave history books not for the crazy perfect slabbing waves but for the carnage both in body and equipment used.. Featuring some of Sydney's best slab surfers both bodyboard & surf/tow surfers, Cape Solander/ Cape Fear was everything that this place is known for.
Featuring Russell Bierke, Kipp Caddy, Laurie Towner, Evan Faulks, Lucas Street, Hayden Blair and some of best body boarders.
Special Thx to Kleber Estorilio, Guy Mac and Jose Garcia for the extra footage.
And Brad Whittaker for putting me in the spot to get the shot..

A surfer and an esky lid shared a barrel & a jetski got smashed on the rocks!
Epic.
First time ever seeing the drop in Boogey and Stand up share a wave, get a barrel, and show a sign of comradery with that pat on the back.

Definitely love how you showed a mixed bag of surfers and Bodyboarders whoever rips gets a clip, and you don’t have a bunch of BS like some other UA-cam videos do just to eat up time for more commercials.👏🏽

South side of the entrance to Botany Bay.... ask Steven Tarr about he's ideas about the possibilities of riding this slab... early to mid 70's.. we watched it and laughed about it... the shire!!!!! God bless us all !!!! ......... it's not part of the eastern suburbs........ the George's river is between us..... not to mention Botany Bay....

P.s. who would have thought that just over the back of where the dirty, filthy oil refinery was... that this could have happened.... maybe we should have taken the time..and talked to the fella's that were here all the time...and we could have enjoyed what this precious spot had to offer.... instead of turning the sandhills into footings, lode bearing walls and all the concrete we could ever hope for...and making the rest of it into a dirty port....

Big waves have always drawn me to the beach.. then I went out bodyboarding in 15ft waves off the outer banks one day and got the beating of a lifetime. I thought I was good and I could handle it like any other big day... but let me tell you it was survival mode once I got on my board and began paddling out into the angry ocean.. I swear, I was 14 then and my back is still screwed up from 1 wave where I got sucked up to the top and driven down into the sand like a 50lb sledge hammer to a flea... love watching these guys and gals take on the nasty 🏄♂️ tho

Interesting wave. Has a bit of a point break element for a slab. Seems like one of the longer breaking slabs even though it's so ferocious it doesn't look like you can ride it over ten foot

What skis do you use?
If you took 4 still shots from a 2s portion of some of these barrels you'd never convince someone it was the same wave (particularly 10:59)
