Thank you so much for your words! As someone who had moved slowly into observance over the past year, I can attest personally to much of what you’ve said here with regard to peoples’ understanding and fears. My family has been inquisitive and supportive, with my daughter finding her own space for her now more defined Jewish identity in the process (according to a recent conversation we had)

I like this lady, she is so right. Respect others is very important. Every head have a whole world in it. A person needs to be itself, not someone else. We all makes choices, sometimes the right ones other the wrong. That's how we all learn by experiencing the effects of our doings. Baruch HaShem!!!

I am not Ba'al Teshuvah, but rather a prospective convert, but a lot of this talk is very helpful for me.

Excellent talk by Rivka Slonim. The world continues to change at an increasing most rapid pace, causing human relationships to become more sensitive and core to our values. It upsets parents to see their children change, but it can devistate children to see their parents change. This presentation is a must watch/listen for those experiencing life upheaval due to significant changes in those with whom we have close relationships. The onus IS properly on the person changing; since they are the focus and their consideration will go far in defusing conflicts...

This is very timely. Some people in my family have said I am joining the synagogue of Satan.
My husband died March 16th 2022… G_D is very good and I am doing as much as I can while allowing those around me to be themselves.

Be yourself and let them be themselves, that's simple but easy. G-d has plans that we don't understand yet so let in His hands, accept it and keeping living, evil works for good, ein sof אין סוף.

I am really happy that you made this wonderful video. Unfortunately, I already made some mistakes that you noticed. I tried to jumped in absorvance too fast to my family. I think baal tshuvas find a balance after close people pushing us, then we understand how to behave with them and what are the boundaries. In this case, experiences of other baal tshuvas are so useful. B"H we will fulfill our mission and bring peace to our homes.

This is my biography! It’s DIFFICULT . Thank you for talking about this. It’s a very lonely painful and HEROIC journey. I wish all Jews that they find they way home and do TESHUVA. 35 years ❤️ ♥️ 💜 I love Torah. I love Hashem. I love Am Israel. But...I miss my father zl, my mother zl, my brothers, and my sister. They never understood. I move to Eretz Israel and after 3 years I am starting to heal. But If you ask me? Yes. I’ll pay the price again. I made mistakes but I think it was impossible to be accepted, and respected. I’m responsible 100%

Wonderful talk but I am so confused. Why would a family be upset if a person who is born becomes more observant?
I am just starting to study Judaism so I am unclear on many many things. I would think that a Jewish family would be happy if their family member is practicing the faith more observantly. What am I missing?

This is mentioned in this video at the 8:50 timestamp. But it is also important to remember that jewish people contain a wide and diverse assortment of people and that means different opinions and reactions
