- Swimmers at Hillary’s Dog Beach near Perth, Western Australia, came dangerously close to death on Dec. 28 after a tiger shark was spotted lurking near the shore.
Heart-stopping drone footage captured by beachgoer Sam Wood shows the giant predator in the clear and iridescent Aussie waters - just meters from unsuspecting bathers.
At one point, the shark can be seen charging toward one woman before it drastically does a U-turn, deciding it’s uninterested in her.
“I was worried that this could be an attack, and obviously I was quite scared,” Wood told a local news outlet following the shark sighting.

@@loanokaharbor8303Most accidents are from people swimming at dangerous beaches,or mostly people that don't know how to dive properly with them.If you know what you're doing you can snorkel with sharks.
You can even see at the :09 mark when the woman turns her body the shark immediately jerks its head away like "who me? I'm not even here - sorry for bothering you, I'll show myself out". Tabloids tabloiding once again.

Folks should start watching their videos before titling them. Someone must have got this video confused with another one in which someone was "charged" by a shark.

Freeze the video. if the person was 6 ft the tiger was 10-12 maybe. Big but pretty common.
Actually, smallest tiger I have seen in the wild was an 8 footer. Biggest 14ft.

LIES!! That shark absolutely did NOT charge anyone because humans are not on their menu, period. The ocean is their home. They are incredibly curious animals by nature.
I swim 15km (20min drive) south of this most days. So that's terrifying!!!
this should put your mind at ease, there are always sharks around us and we never notice, watch some footage by The Malibu Artist and you see sharks and swimmers in the water all the time.

Charges? It was just curious, you can see it gets quite close and then quickly turns when it realises its not their usual prey, they can be quite skitty sharks too ofc when they are not hungry ..

Sharks can come up in water 2-3 inches deep, look up when small children pat the water, a shark will think it's a wounded fish, and come up to the shore.
Most shark bites are in knee deep water.
As I know shallow water is where sharks usually find their food.
at no point did the shark charge anybody. I really believe that most shark attacks are mistakes by the shark. The shark here obviously just checks stuff out and is like "nope that's not food".

Jesus Christ I had no idea they came in that close to the shore.
We have *_really_* big beauties come very close to shore here in Perth, Australia. A 6m white pointer was spotted a lot closer than most people would be comfortable with about 3 weeks ago and the same again with a 5.5m white. They tend not to be interested in us though. Hunting for rays etc. Hammerheads come the closest.
We have a 'pet' tiger shark in Perth named Trevor (aka Big T). Swims through people's legs at thigh/hip height water. If it weren't for media frenzied dramatics and fear mongering, sharks wouldn't be as feared as they are.

We don’t give sharks enough credit for the self-control that an overwhelming majority of them exhibit. Imagine being a shark and seeing hundreds, if not thousands, of pale fat humans bobbing up and down in YOUR dining room and choosing not to take a bite out of every single one of them.
