Spent so many hours on this game. Was gutted Jordan wasn't in it as I'm a bulls fan. Now I'm gutted I'm a bulls fan 🤣 I'm hoping my boy wants to play 2k with me in time.
My dad got me this game for my 14th birthday 12/03/94. I remember that day like it was yesterday. John Wooden Classic double header on NBC. Wildcats vs Bruins and Jayhawks vs Minutemen. I was so hyped. I stayed up all night playing this game. This game really elevated basketball gaming from the game play all the way to the presentation.
I went to my friend's house and he was playing this game--I couldn't believe individual players' stats would pop up on screen like in a TV presentation--it was the coolest thing I had ever seen in a basketball game. I've been chasing that high ever since.
when i got this game and played it on a saturday night after my mom and dad bought it for me at kaybee's in the roosevelt field mall in long island i was AMAZED. the graphics and gameplay blew me away. i can remember how much fun i had that night playing this. wow.
Wow my brother use to luv this game! Him and our play cousins use to play this all night! The main menu music itself bring back great memories RIP to my brother Chris 17 years gone but not forgotten
I was a freshman in college when this game came out and I played it on my Windows computer. My guy friends couldn't believe I actually liked to play sport video games as a girl. I remember being mesmirized by the likeness of the actual players. Seems weird to say in 2023 but this was HUGE back then.
This game REVOLUTIONIZED basketball games. It was WAY beyond its time. Only one other game did this same thing for football and that was Tecmo Superbowl for the NES.
I use to play this with my cousins when we visited Illinois when I was a kid they had sega and we use to play this all the time. back in California I didnt have LiVE 95 I had NBA Action 94 so when I played Live at my cousins it would be next level to me lol. I still own my NBA Action games tho because thats who I was as a kid. Im ordering this game soon tho for Sega and SNES because it reminds me of my cousins.
This is absolutely one of the greatest NBA licensed basketball games of all time. I like the arcade style of fast gameplay and easy dunks, rather than the ultra realistic but slow and boring 2K games.
I wish they'd adopt simpler control schemes, that's my biggest complaint with them. I don't mind realism but the controls are so complicated anymore it feels like I have to completely know the ins and outs of the sport, every play and every strategy just to stand a chance against the CPU on easy. That's way too overwhelming for the average player, especially since most of these games lack any kind of tutorial at all, so it's clear modern EA and 2K only care about hardcore sports fans sadly. NHL 18 had an arcade mode though, it looks really cool so maybe EA will start introducing arcade modes again in the rest of their lineup, but I can't be certain.
I guess it all depends on what your taste is but better graphics, more game modes, more realistic movements. It all seems like it just gets better as video games progress
People always talk about NBA Jam and NBA Jam Tournament Edition, but I prefer NBA Live 95 by far. The gameplay is incredible and it feels amazing to play. I grew up in the late 80’s and 90’s and this is one of the best sports games I’ve ever played. My all-time favourites are Tecmo Super Bowl (NES), RBI Baseball (NES), Ken Griffey Jr Presents MLB (SNES), NHL 94 (SNES) and NBA Live 95 (SNES). This game is a true gem. Take care everyone. :)
Best 3 point strategy was with a good shooter when traveling up screen, align shooter straight on view so you’re not able to see the arc trajectory. Top release. Swish!
I have fond memories of this game. I believe I was 14 at the time. My friends and I would get together in the basement drinking old English 40s and play this for hours. Great times, the 90s were awesome
I was 5 when this came out and I think I played it a few years later I would always pick the Knicks vs the pacers and foul Reggie Miller with John starks lol
I remember the main differences between the SNES game and the Genesis game was at the Genesis game had the 94-95 NBA schedule the SNES game had the 93-94 NBA schedule
Did the Genesis version have all the rookies in it? The SNES didn't, but you could go to create a player and put in their names and all their correct info automatically came up. Thought that was the coolest thing when I stumbled upon it trying to create Corliss Williamson! Lol
I Remember Playing This Video Game When I Was a Lil ' Shawty Back in The 90s NBA Live 95 Was a Dope Classic Video Game 🎮 That I Play On Super Intendo Game 🎮 System in The 90s Dope.
I remember picking the Pacers & passing it to Reggie Miller. Then while I’m shooting I say “Reggie Miller’s nickname is...” then the in game after he scores says “THREE!”
Friend and I had this in our college apartment. He would get so wound up because the game would "cheat" and do ridiculous things, especially if you were winning. If you were winning, you'd suddenly blow every easy layup and the computer would hit from anywhere, turnaround 3's, get 5 steals in a row, missed breakaway layups, block shots all over the place..... He'd have me laughing my ass off 'cause he'd get so angry HAHA!!
Me and my brother on full 12:00 quarters could take mark price and bust a 3 steal it bust anothern till we ended up with several 700 point games with him havin over 500…that don’t even sound possible but never forget things like that…
Pete Myers aka Jordan's replacement during his first retirement. I remember going on SNES forums getting attributes that were made for MJ that were created. Once I did that, MJ was on this Bulls squad, and bye bye Myers.
Was '95 when he was retired? I know he came back to win 3 more NBA championships. I know later on they couldn't use his likeness without paying him. I gues the price was too steep cuz you had to use create a player to have Michael Jordan.
The create a player option had a lot of hidden players that weren't in the game. All you had to do was put their name in and all their info would be correct. Can't remember if Jordan was one of them, but the entire rookie class from the most recent draft was. I want to say you could add certain legends that way too, but not 100%. I remember putting in a bunch of different names to see if they would show up and they did.
@@wickedauslanderJordan was one of them as well as Charles Barkley, who’s also not on the game along with a bunch of legends whose names you could type in to get unlocked
You could go to create a player and put all the missing players names in and they would come up with all their info and attributes correct. Same with all the rookies from that most recent draft.
This game started it all. The new angle blew our minds. I was 15 years old. Now I play 2k18 with my 8yo son.
I 1st played this back then as well, my brother 1st bought the game and he creamed me when I went against him.
Spent so many hours on this game. Was gutted Jordan wasn't in it as I'm a bulls fan. Now I'm gutted I'm a bulls fan 🤣
I'm hoping my boy wants to play 2k with me in time.
First nba game i played was Kobe Bryant on the N64. But, yeah, this is very impresive for the time and the console.
Same homie
@@Romamb They didn't have David Robinson and Charles Barkley either

Almost brings me to tears watching this just makes me want get into time machine go back to my childhood
Believe it or not , at the time this was a game changer. Stats, actual logos and dennis rodman had blonde hair for the spurs.
Such a great series - love the isometric view. Both this and FIFA really paved the way and pushed the experience on 16-bit consoles to the limit.
Thanks for this. My grandparents had this. Great memories playing this all day with my cousins. "Three!"

RIP to your bro.
My cousin died 17 years ago at age 17 as well. RIP to your brother as well. And he and his brothers had NBA Live 96 for the SNES.

Back again. I miss this era so much.
Loved this game when it came out and still love it today.
I still have it on the Sega Genesis
Rauf was unstoppable in this game. Loved that nuggets team

My favorite basketball video game.
Back when games were just fun
Exactly. Sports games these days are way too overcomplicated. I don't give a shit how much my team's arena sells nachos for.
I wish they'd adopt simpler control schemes, that's my biggest complaint with them. Games have only gotten better
From my mom's perspective, Atari was when games were just fun and she found the original NES to be too complicated.
I guess it all depends on what your taste is but better graphics, more game modes, more realistic movements. It all seems like it just gets better as video games progress
Haha the music at the quarter sounds like an episode of fresh prince.

better than 96, 97 and 98.

I've not thought of this game in 25 years. I'm not into sports, but played the hell outta this game. So good
Spent so much time playing this game

Here for the pointing off hand celebration - Shawn Kemp
One of my best childhood games 🥹💓❤️
Golden State was the real deal, I once shot 35/35 From behind the arc with Spreewell. Blaylock for Atlanta was fire as well.
This games does get the feeling of speed right. It’s simple but the control was good and you felt like you could whip passes around.
Played this for hours while drinking so much kool aid with it.
How time flies
That Bulls lineup without Jordan was a hurt piece back in the day.

Really? Did not know that. The SNES and Mega Drive versions are VERY similar overall (Other than the Mega Drive's better resolution.)
Did the Genesis version have all the rookies in it? The SNES didn't, but you could go to create a player and put in their names and all their correct info automatically came up. Thought that was the coolest thing when I stumbled upon it trying to create Corliss Williamson! Lol

Pointing after dunking had my friends rolling when they seen it for the first time
nba live 95 is the best game

Joe gallagher - Yep! I used to score 100 a game with Mullen. His 3 was lights out.

EA was on its game back then
Latrell sprewell was the best dunker in this game
Yeah..but the worst freetrhow liner shooter.
one of my favorite games ever

"Three"

The Rockets got Clyde Drexler in February of 95, but in the game the Rockets already had him

Sounds pretty much identical to the Mega Drive version, except some sfx sound better while others sound worse.
Roster on SNES version had wrong rosters from 93/94 season and mega drive version got the right rosters from 94/95 season..
This was my shitttttt I still got it lol my snes still work and my N64
Childhood restored 🥲
I actually traded Rice for Mourning
I had Pippen, Reggie, and Tim Hardaway on the Knicks

I used to use the Miami Heat...Glen Rice was a walking bucket...
One other note, playing with fatigue on was just stupid, it's a video game. 1000 mph for 4 quarters!
The 6 time 90s champs are ranked 7th, huhbwoi... Ahhh w/o Mike.. Gotcha
How were they able to record the screen? Lol
15:00 he freaked it
Loren Parks you can't fake the funk on a nasty dunk
I wonder why they didn't have David Robinson and Charles Barkley. They didn't retire with Michael Jordan lol
They had their own basketball games
You could go to create a player and put all the missing players names in and they would come up with all their info and attributes correct. Same with all the rookies from that most recent draft.
Grant long has googles😮😊
I think this game I had 7 footers on the bulls team.
