この日は、群れの一員のトトさんが部屋から出てこないせいか、シルバーバックのハオコがピリピリしていました。
そんな中、突然ハオコが娘のモモカに怒り、追いかけ始めました。
他のゴリラたちが止めますが、ハオコはやめず、モモカに覆いかぶさります。
すると、他のゴリラたちは金切り声をあげて怒り、最後はモモカ、モモカお母さん、お姉さんのコモモ、弟のリキがハオコに抗議します。

Silverback gorilla, Haoko got angry at his daughter, Momoka.
He chased after her.
The other gorillas stopped him from chasing, but he didn't stop.
Momoka, her mom, her sister Komomo , and her brother Riki counterattacked.

Haoko is usually pretty calm
However this looks like a dominance thing momoka is at a mating age and should have been moved don’t know why she is still in this group it is sad
I wish zoos had better setups like this one i cant even watch kintaro family videos on the other youtube channel who makes 100s of thousands off of the family but wont donate that money to fix up kintaros living space

There is a really funny video somewhere on you tube where Haoko's Dad was disciplining his cheeky kids and they all hid behind Mama. He chased them all until he gave every kid a pinch, then walked away and looked at his nails. 😂 Kibabu was getting older so his boys would get a bit disrespectful. I wonder if Hakao was one of the kids in that video. It is from 13 years ago. 😂Editing to say the video is called GORILLAS FIGHTING by Mrs Collins. I just watched it and Haoko looks so much like his Dad! 🩷

I just watched it. Haoko and Shabani are brothers. I wonder if that was them when they were little. There is a striking resemblance to dad.. it’s amazing.

The way he treated Bikira (innocent,kind,sensitive) when she first arrived to her whole entire stay with him and his troop was and will forever be unforgivable!
@Lagia I agree there are no evil gorillas but there are some with more aggressive personalities, and all of them are bred to be powerful.

I don’t see any problems with Momoka 🤔, Big boss please don’t do this, you forget 3 months ago to irritated 😤 all ladies, they stay in indoor room don’t go outside for a week 😅, don’t do it again.
I always thought a male Silverback was comparable to a 11-16 year old human male. They usually have the strength and will to hurt others, but they just as well will irritate others and then run away in a playful manner, like a child
They have the strength of about 10 men and one of their favorite pastimes is to aggravate the females, like he is doing now.😮😅

Nah, he's totally just trying to play, lol. It's extremely common for silverbacks to annoy their troop into chasing him. It's actually beneficial overall as you can see how the troop teams up to oppose him, meaning it'll bring them closer together and would make them more formidable against wild opponents. Good work, Haoko.
But exactly right. They will always need him for protection. But sometimes the troop bond especially among the females needs to b tested from time to time. Good observation
I've wondered if the alpha males can sense tension amongst the females and strategically instigate some incident to focus their attention away from their personal peeves. Nothing brings a group together faster than a common enemy-- real, or perceived.

Oh, so that's why after everything was calm and quiet, Haoko had to do that last grabbing of the rope with a charge? Because he was still playing?
He was aiming towards Momoka from the very beginning with no end in sight...something happen prior to this being filmed.
The look on Haokos face says it all.

@@thesummerof1968 I agree there is more to the film but I think it's just another example of the way the males of this troop (and his brother Shibani) were raised. They do a lot of highly physical play that borders on fighting mostly involving getting the females to chase the silverback. Also remember that some charges/aggression aren't always just about discipline or aggression, so when he runs by on his hind legs Hoako could just be displaying for the sake of showing how strong/attractive he is.
am I the only one that finds it kind of sick that stuff like this happens & the people filming are just laughing about it? I mean I kind of get it being nature & all, except it's not really nature because it's in a zoo & some males aren't really meant to be alpha males in charge of a group or a pack
I know what you mean d jeeco of tiapei zoo has 2 wives one name lriki no trouble has a baby name Ringo but tayari his other wife if you watch them you would think she is the Silverback for real she beats up on him she do not stand down she do what she wants to the other wife tayari steals the other wife's baby so Ringo n doing tayari rapes the other wife's son beats the little one drags Ringo around by one arm did I mention they are half sister s if little Ringo want to get away from auntie tayari drags him back sit n rape the little right in front of the mom hits the mom n run off again with over n over again n the dad just sit there n watch or turn his head away n refuse to stop tayari from hurting the little one she n tayari has her son jabali doing the same thing to Ringo hell it rare to see tayari not rapeing her son or her sisters so n Ringo it happensevery damn day .she chase d jeeco the Silverback down to fight him he can not control tayari at all in a word he's a punk he don't even control his son jabali by tayari tayari is very disrespectful to the whole troop .d jeeco don't act like a Silverback he really know what to do he has no leadership it's in himself hehas little to no interest in his baby son Ringo n that's very sad but what is is interested in is is oldest son jabali that at times don't get breast milk a lot of times if n that's under protest from wife tayari whe she feels like it or jabali has to fight for his milk from his mom the zoo feeds jabali even he's do get milk he was fending for himself since he was about 4-5 Mos. Old .she has gotten a little better but she leaves him alone a lot n want her sister to babysit jabali most of the time can anyone explain why this Silverback hasn't been strong to stand up to his wife tayari she do have some what of a light mark on her back to tell you the truth tayari has more Silverback in her than her husband d jeeco. Thing is why don't he stand up to his wife tayari n it's more to this than meets the eyes

Yes, you are right. This is not a natural environment for them. Can you image 5 human beings living in this close proximity and under the eyes of others that control their living conditions? Zoos need to change or go out of business if they cannot offer better life conditions of their animals.

What is with the injuries and bald spots to the gorillas in this zoo. The baby currently has 3 big scrapes, one of the sisters has a big one, and back when this was filmed another one has a huge bald spot on the back of her head.
Haoko says he heard that this works for his brother Shabani so he was just playing around to get attention 🤣🤣

Momoka has always had a tendency to stir up Haoko, I guess she pushed him too far this time. But she doesn't seem too concerned she's not a timid girl, far from it.
Mama stands up for her kids. She's very protective.
All gorilla troops do this all the time they all chase the silver back after he discipline someone
@@gregsutton2400 momoko is a little different. If you watch some old videos, after haoko would bite momoko, she would literally stalk him forever. Instead of chasing the silverback, and when he stops, they stop. Which is what normally happens.

@@gregsutton2400 I'm not talking about her kids. In the early years of this group, haoko would attack all three of the females for no reason. When he did, momoko would stalk him for hours. She wouldn't run, she would just follow him everywhere, and not give him a break at all.
I know what you mean, they all chase after the silverback when something happens, but this is totally different.

Haoko when looking at other Silverbacks in zoo's is not a very easy going silverback. He can be mean at times. Good thing for Girl power to put a stop to his bs.

Yeah Momotaro is always mad at Gentaro. With Momo family, they cant even give them there meals together. Especially Momotaro he has to have all the good food and he will get all the good food if they dont split them up.

Take a look into the “Palm Oil Industry and the multinational corporations that are responsible for the destruction of their habitat. Consumers that buy these products also shoulder some blame. People stop complaining this zoo is amazing and i love how they setup the place for the gorillas the only reason they arent in the wild is because of evil evil humans killing them and destroying their food and homes its sad to say but they are better their then where they came from
This habitat is barely a half a step up from Kyoto Zoo. I have yet to see a Japanese zoo with a habitat hospitable for gorilla's. It's like they really don't care. Shameful in my opinion. They could sure take several pointers from Taipei, Apenhuel and just about ANY other zoo. But I guess as long as they're getting Yen, they're okay with these dirt pits. Horrendous.

Oh my goodness! Shaking my head. Haoko is at it again antagonizing everyone, and is why there was a "family troop strike" with everyone staying indoors mainly the lovely lady 🌸 wives. 2:49 It seems dad Haoko manages to get on daughter Momoka's (lower left) nerves the most 🤭 for whatever reason. It's just part of his personality 4:46 😆. It apparently runs in the family 🤣. Haoko's younger brother Shabani does the same thing to his troop, and lovely wife 💐 Nene at times.
Shabani didn’t do any harm. He was playing tag , a thing he loves to do with his troop

I realize this is 6 months late, but if you haven't found out, maybe this will help. The silverback Haoko-age 27 & Momoko-age 38 are parents to 3 offspring. Daughters: Komomo-age 12, & Momoka-age 8, and a son, Riki-age 4. The other adult female is Toto-age 44-no offspring. He was born in a stable family with both parents & 4 siblings. Haoko moved to Ueno Zoo Japan in 2007. His mate Momoko has a son who is a silverback at Kyoto Zoo Japan. Momoko has always been the dominant female in any group she was in, so she can certainly hold her own. Just this year, the zoo announced that Momoko was pregnant again.

I often wonder what Momo's personality would be if he had a stable home, siblings to grow up with, & a dad to emulate 🤔, like Haoko & Shabani. Momo is different, but he has to learn as he goes. I ❤️ him too!

It’s sad when the troop has a mean Silverback to live with. I wonder if they should separate the troop when the Silverback is a bully. Let the females and youngsters live in peace.
I think we have to remember here that they're not humans. While this may look like an "abusive" Silverback to you, this is the family dynamic they've evolved to have over millions of years. Not for us to make a call on when's appropriate to separate a father from his family.

@@pheeel17 That is not exactly the case. Females can and WILL leave a silverback they don't like in the wild. Generally, a silverback only remains dominant for a few years in a wild group before another silverback takes over.

Haoko is too agressive specially with Momoko. In the wild she would have scaped His brother also had that kind of problem and the zoo separated from.his family for a wile. Now he look normal.
