👁 About this video : Today we check out the practicality of the Nissan GT-R and the Audi R8! Since we both try to daily these cars as much as possible, we figured it would be great to compare the two with how capable they really are! We have done performance testing between the two, and while they have a similar price on the used market, which one would be better if it was your only car!? With the Nissan GT-R, you actually get functional back seats, so you could put four people in the car if needed, and while it wouldn't be a tall person they do work if needed. It also has practical trunk space, although the rear seats don't fold down which is a negative, it still has plenty of room. You can even fit a full set of extra tires in the car. The Audi R8 is a two seater so automatically has less interior space. You have a great amount of interior room, the storage behind the seats is great for jackets or small bags, and the front trunk or "fronk" has a good amount of space as well. It can easily pack two peoples worth of bags for a weekend trip which makes it practical for drives like that. If you only had one for a daily driver, the Nissan GT-R would win. The Audi R8 is a great daily, but you would need another car for large items as the GT-R would be able to fit more items easier than the R8.

just want to say putting the ski's in gt-r didnt you guys thought of putting the skis slowly to the rear window and slowly sliding in behind the front co driver seat horizontally? im sure it would have fitted nicely

Glad I found your channel. Looking to decide between a GTR and R8 for my next car. I've had a GTR previously and loved it, but like having more supercar factor/don't want to go to jail with all the power (was lucky in first ownership). Great content, will be following along!

Thanks for the video, practicality is important as I'm debating between an r8 and gtr and this video made the choice clear but I think I will be putting a rack on top for the snowboard also ;) itll be fun to cruise around in the mountains with the GTR ( yes I have a truck ) but it's nice to have the option if I wanted it.

We haven't driven them in the snow, it doesn't snow enough unfortunately for us to be able to really do that and have fun. You absolutely need to be able to fit a dead hooker or two in your trunk!! LOL. GT-R for the win!
The transmission button. Hold it down into the SAVE mode for 5 seconds. It will flash twice in blue. That turns off the front diff. I leaned that recently through some UA-cam comments lol. Makes tight turns much nicer!

Well they did make the R8 with a manual from 2008-2015 for both the V10 and V8, then in 2017 then discontinued the manual. It was a factory option.

That's a tough one, are you looking at the C8? I will be getting mine soon, so we'll be able to compare the two and see what is similar and different! If you need that extra rear space you can't go wrong with the GTR, you can fit kids if you need to.

I don’t think anyone that has a R8 uses it every day and is their only car. So this is really pointless but thank you! And I would say the same for the GTR, the owner would most likely have a second car. If you can’t afford a second car for daily then you really can’t afford the GTR or the R8!
To be honest a lot of GTR owners daily drive them. It's so practical and useable and is still a super fast race car. But this is more of a fun video just comparing our cars. My gTR was my only car for 1.5 years. Then I had the Supra for 2 year with it. Sold the supra a bit ago and am waiting on the Z. So back to using the GTR as my only car
R8 is a money pit
Is that what you experienced with yours? All I had to do was an oil change once a year for $160. Audi is very reliable and this is a "cheap" car to maintain.
