A lot of the time I use Teknoaxe music, so it's easier to put the attribution here all the time! teknoaxe.com/Ho... - Sometimes I use White Bat Audio as well.
If it's not Teknoaxe, it's probably Bass Rebels, here on UA-cam.

"See... I can get you what you want, I can. I can get you anything, you just have to talk to me, you have to trust me. You can trust me, 'cause I'm your priest, I'm your shrink... I am your main connection to the switchboard of the soul. I'm the magic man... Santa Claus of the subconscious. You say it, you think it, you can have it."

You're an eternal GM Grim, solo gaming is always going to leave you slightly deflated :)
There are some good products out there both in the realms of Wargaming (Fallout: Wasteland Warfare, Skyrim:Call to Arms) and the and Roleplaying (Alone against Nyarlathotep, some of the other Coc releases, The FF App).....BUT......
Given the choice I would always play with a GM, and a group of sweaty people with snacks, around a table.

You can possibly surprise yourself with rolls. I use solo gaming to familiarise myself witb rules. Without the interaction its lacking.

ChatGPT can somewhat give you coherent and surprising fiction like a Game Master (and it varies due to the amount of Nanny State-ism that the Silicon Valley executives try to impose upon you because they are focused on "safety" and "diversity"... they are constantly refining the machine for whatever brand of "safety" they are trying to push on us, the ethical beings that Silicon Valley tech executives are themselves *sarcasm*).
It would be interesting to get your spin on the genre of solo RPGs, though.

I’m interested to see what you come up with. I’ve enjoyed playing around a bit with some iron sworn hacks and with Chris McDowall’s ask the stars, though it usually does feel more like a creative writing exercise with a prompt generator than playing a game.

I do surprise myself as long as I stay on the edge of inspiration. I think soloing is a state of mind more than anything else.

I liked the Call of Cthulhu solo play book, Alone against the flames, in the boxed set. Helps to learn the game but that’s sort of a fighting fantasy style game (or dying fantasy for call of Cthulhu, my two runs were both fatal. At least for the first few times it has the surprise of exploration. I never quite got the “oracle” game master emulators like Mythic.

You can find the puzzle in the meta. When you roll for a random event, discovery, or new NPC and you have a couple of key words to inspire, you can reach into your hat for creativity and connecting the dots with the world, its factions, and NPCs. I find that to be quite satisfying for my solo gaming. I'm currently using a tarot deck for my oracle and this just oozes with relationships and complications that keeps the ADHD squirrel in my head amused.

I prefer to immerse, which is also why I ten to find the meta-level story games unsatisfying.

Best of luck on the solo game creation. Speaking for myself, I enjoy the novelty of mechanics and dice rolls generating circumstances, challenges, and characters with unkown motivations to interact with. The joy of overland exploration or the curiosity of discovering the layout and map of a complex structure like a dungeon, abandoned military base, ruined hospital, or even a weird space structure. I think it depends on what the player enjoys most in the hobby.
If you enjoy facing social challenges in a different world with a different persona, Solo gaming is probably not going to give the most enjoyment.
If your interest is tactical or strategic then there is a reasonably robust selection of games and procedures that will challenge you.
If you dig exploration then all you really need is an adequate procedure, interesting tables and a reasonable facility with oracles.
I find the magic comes from prompts that imply mystery. In Harper's Quest 2(the 1st apparently died a necessary death and is buried in an unmarked internet grave) my two characters entered a clearing in the woods and the encounter table rolled: You encounter a screaming/yelling golem. No additional info.
I used a simple Oracle and a couple of character skill rolls, and the Muse did the rest. From that prompt, I got another party member a good hook for future adventures, and more world building.

The idea of playing a social game solo is odd to me. I guess they're like "make your own adventure" books? But then if i want solo gaming there's all these video games rpgs... Like, if i want to play stories in my head alone i just... write them, you know. Idk, i just don't understand it, to each their own i guess.

There are some solo systems out there where you perform the GM role, and the system handles how the players interact with what you present through various personality quirks and drives. Maybe give that a try and see if it is more fulfilling?

Ditto for me on the introvert who is thrilled by the adrenaline rush that comes from performing. And color me intrigued! What are you making a solo thing for?

Playing an RPG solo is like painting an image but not knowing how it starts or how it will end up.

I know this is off-topic, but I'm wanting to get into some of the older Vampire/Hunter/Etc books....where do you suggest I begin? I think I'm wanting to use Chronicles of Darkness books but I'm a bit confused by CoW vs WoD...
I've heard good things about Vampire the Requiem and Hunter the Vigil...do you have positive things to say about either?
I searched your videos and only found a review for Vampire 5e which I want to stay as far away from as possible.

      Requiem's shit :P
VtM 2nd edition is probably the best IMO.
