    Even though I am watching this 13 months after this was posted, thanks for sharing a few varieties of axes that you have designed and handmade here in the US of A. Everyone who lives in the country at least needs an axe. My favs are the Hawkbill and Trapper Hatchets. I will definitely have to watch the build series on that Damascus axe collab, what a gorgeous piece.
    I know that WranglerStar loves your camp axe and gave it a glowing first impression review.

    Simply amazing craftsmanship, one great thing is that you do everything, from forging, handle work, and the brilliant leatherwork!
    If anyone has watched your non forging videos, you see that the hawksbill axe never leaves your side! Plus where the name came from is an amazing view. You can definitely tell the quality of your leather sheaths, your personal hawksbill looks practically brand new!
    Liam, I know you'll have great success at the knife show, wish I could go! Also, have you thought of making the leather sheaths have a weathered look to them? The look of the belt loop on your personal axe looks incredible!

    Say Heah Brother. You just made my day. Alot of my friends laughed at me when I pit a 19" White Hickory Handle and I hafted a 2 1/2lbs vintage Iltis Oxhead on it. Now everybody wants to use it. My Iltis head has very thin cheeks, But the shear weight blasts through wood when I make kindling. I take my House Axe as our camp Axe, Seeing what you make. Elates me. Thanx You.,,.p

    Hello Liam, First time caller from Western Canada. I have been watching you since you built a Camp Axe for Cody on Wranglerstar You are truly talented kid and mean that like "You're living the dream dude", very lucky you have found something you truly enjoy and love. I am only hours in since you listed this video and your Damascus Axe tickets are all sadly sold out. Please tell us you'll offer another Raffle in the future, I would have easily picked up a few tickets but sorry I cant afford a couple thousand to purchase. All the best and keep your videos coming and congratulations on your win in the Forged In Fire competition.
    Craig

    awesome stuff and nice sales pitch but your work is art and I think your going to crush the market in the next few years
    I only wish the rest of the US would appreciate and start supporting the little handmade quality work you produce

    The trappers hatchet is legit what makes it useful to a trapper is when you are in the bush you cut spear like poles and often entire small trees into anchors, so you fashion a vampire slaying type spike and drive them into water channels. The axe, trap and wire/nails are what we use. Trap boxes need to sometimes be nailed into the branch, or wired. Boxes kept in the bush need sometimes to be repaired. I can think of one more important reason for the trapper to have a specific trapper axe that is you ALWAYS have your hands full once you get off your Kawasaki or Honda horses, you grab a trap and an axe, having a waist mounted axe would be the most useful for when you need to bring traps and bait into the bush.

    • @jamesgroomes1812
      @jamesgroomes1812 7 років тому

      a rifle, you always have a rifle onto of traps and bait so someone carries the large axe we have and traps and bait the other carries a shotgun and a trap usually.

      Go to his website and order it for $300. You then have to wait 12-15 months until it will be completed and shipped.

    love the farm axe, wish it was a bit smaller, like a boys axe size, I am rather a slender fellow, so I prefer lighter models, for home use, and for firewood.

      Well, his 12-15 month lead time doesn't care much about whether or not you think the cost is justified. The free market is a beautiful thing, isn't it? ;)

      A lot of his clients will simply hang them on a wall to decorate their cabin with and who knows how many would fail if used.

    • @WilliamFrazier1488
      @WilliamFrazier1488 7 років тому

      They are not too bad, maybe 100 over priced, however it does concern me that there is no history to back the brand yet. Gransfor atleast has that going for their price points. I would be willing to try one to see, just not rely on it.

    • @ericmccall1789
      @ericmccall1789 6 років тому +1

      I get what you’re saying about the price, but he’s clearly still selling them. Plenty of people spend thousands on vehicles with lifts or sports packages and use them for nothing more than commuting. I agree with wanting some history to back it up, but there is definitely something to be said about seeing the person handcraft these items.

    • @j.chrisbeck7492
      @j.chrisbeck7492 6 років тому +2

      history ? Liam has been making knives, axes, blacksmithing since was like 12, and he has totally suceeded in his brand,through mostly word of mouth, yes youtube has had an effect but he has made a name from this, you ask any axe junkie if they know who or what Liam Hoffman is, and they will tell you more than you wanna know. the satisfaction rating is through the roof, even at his price, it is a fair deal. If you want something handmade, you pay for it, if you want crap, you go to home depot.....these items are going to last for a lifetime, they are not going to be a "disposable" item. good luck on your choices...
