From what I understand a simple way to check this is to turn the shaft all the way till it locks then mark shaft, now turn shaft in opposite direction till lock and mark shaft. after you have your 2 marks you should be able to turn about half distance from lock to lock and your 3 rd mark which will be dead center will fall dead center between the first and second mark. If this makes any sense
