I have to say that I have underestimated the Prius C until I owned it 2 years ago. It's the best commuter period ❤❤❤. I still have it and I will not sell it.
Toyota OEM filters are pre-lubed. No need to oil the gasket on the filter. Hand tighten the oil filter but use a wrench (as you did in the video) to tighten the drainplug (not simply hand tight as you said). Thumbs up from me.
Did you not have the topside oil cap off while you drained the old oil? I guess I've never seen it not work but I've always been told to open it. For air flow. Ya know like carb hole.
I actually traded my Prius C in for a CT200H. It had about 120K miles on it and zero issues. I think the hybrid battery is engineered to hold a charge up to 250-300k miles, but it really depends on where you live too. In colder climates, the battery will not last as long as in warmer climates. You can use an app called, "Dr. Prius" and run a test to see the condition of your battery. I ran it on my CT200H and it now just hit 170K miles and I have about 74% hybrid battery life remaining on it. It's in "FAIR" condition so I would assume yours would be higher since your miles might be lower than mine. Good luck!
Most likely the skid plate was missing from your vehicle before you got it or at an oil shop they forgot to put it back on. I see it all the time all it does is help with gas mileage if you don’t have a skid plate you’re fine just have to pay for more gas mileage
I was reading my owner manual and it says total capacity it 3.9 qt and I have been using 3.5 qt and it reaches more than half on the dip stick mark. I'm curious if you are using more than 3.9 qt then are there any issues for the long run or repairs for the engine after using this much oil? Like spark plugs, head gasket, CAT, or intake Manifold or EGR?
You are right, I ended up putting only 4qts. I made a mistake during editing, I will go back and revise the title so people don't get confused. Thanks for pointing that out! I think 4qts is good for the Prius-C, don't use more than that. Appreciate you man!
Hey man! I don't have the S2000 anymore and to be honest, I buy JDM cars that are kinda high mileage and cheaper but end up still spending a lot of money fixing them up. I guess the car hobby is pretty expensive but I enjoy it and luckily, my full time job can help with some of the expenses. I'm an IT systems engineer!
If you are going to use amsoil you might as well as use an amsoil filter too that has fully synthetic medium that can filter down to 20 microns with some removable Samarium Cobalt magnets, together you can safely (and I do mean safely) get 20k between oil changes. I put between 8k to 10k miles per month on my prius c so when the 20k and change interval arrived the oil was a medium dark honey colour in the drain pan with no visible particulates when I dipped some paper in to test it.
I have about 87,000 now and to be honest, Prius-C are very low maintenance and cheap to service. Oil changes, transmission fluid changes and tires/battery/air filters.
Harbor freight has Daytona jacks one for reg height and one for low pro cars. I love them and they are very reasonably priced especially if you can use a coupon or go on their lot sales days. I have major disabilities and they are almost effortless. Hope this helps

97k miles and counting 😊

The instructions on the OEM oil filter say you should lightly oil the gasket
That's really cool you shared the part number on the filter. You didn't have to, but you did! NICE! Great video!
Thanks! 👍
Thank you for your helpful videos! I have a prius c 2016 too and I want to take good care of it for it lasts me a long time 😊💕
You are welcome! Glad to help!
Very informative set of videos. I like how you made a play list based on model.
Glad you like them!
Well done young man
Do you need a whole new washer bolt every time you do an oil change for the drain bolt?
Bruh, did u just roll out of your bed?? 😂🤣 Anyways, thanks for the video, I subscribed and liked 😅
Thank for the sub and yes, I literally just got out of bed and recorded! 😂

Awesome
How’s your car doing ? Do you think that after the 200k miles it’s batttery starts to not hold up charge long anymore

Question for you. I'm puzzled why your Prius C has an undercarriage shield. All of the C's I've seen don't have that.
It came like that, I am not too sure if others didn't. Good looking out!
Yeah, mine doesn't either. 2014 C One
found out during my first oil change today that mine does- 2016 prius c

@@Echizen32kMedia thanks for the clarification. I was worried if I was doing it wrong.
hey echizen what do you do as your full time job/career to be able to buy so many cool jdm cars?
do you still have the s2000? love your videos

Bro what is the name of the tool you used to open the plastic panel to expose the drain bolt (plug)?
electric ratchet
Are you going to post an RSX video sometime?
Yes! It's currently getting a paint job and I'll get it back within a few weeks. I'll post soon.
Thanks 👍👍👍
I was looking in the owner's manual and its state to turn off the hybrid system before changing the oil. Don't know why you would need to or how to?
hey idk if you still need this info but it just means that you need to turn off the vehicle before changing the oil. no disconnection required
How many miles on your C? Are there any other maintenance routine required for hybirds?
I have about 87,000 now and to be honest, Prius-C are very low maintenance and cheap to service. Oil changes, transmission fluid changes and tires/battery/air filters.
@@Echizen32kMedia Is it possible to remove the oil filter without the special tool?
What's the jack used?

Yes Harbor Freight has great deals. Hope you found a jack you liked. I have a 2 ton low profile jack and works great.
How many Liter did u put in??
4 litres
Лучше сразу одеть пакет на фильтр,перед демонтажом)))
From racer to Prius driver
I'll still track my RSX-S! It's in the paint shop now getting a full respray!
@@Echizen32kMedia how much did you pay?
