I own the Evolution 14" saw (the upgraded version of what you have). This is what I've learned about cutting steel with these blades..... I noticed you cut the flat bar stock horizontally instead of vertically. Always cut it vertically, with the thin edge making contact with the blade. The cut goes 2 to 3 times faster, and there's less surface contact with the blade. This makes the blade last longer as well. Also, always take your time with cutting steel (not that you didn't). Let the blade do the work. If you move too fast through the material, the carbide teeth will chip out. But that will happen on ANY blade if you push it too hard or too fast through the material.
On the 1/4" steel angle stock, I have found the best way to make 90 degree (flat) cuts is to have the tip of the 90 degree angle pointing upwards, locked into the saws vise. Again, it minimizes surface contact, and the cut goes 2-3 times faster and easier.
However, when you make angled cuts, you will have to cut the flat surface down. But the way I look at it, the saw and the blades (although affordable) aren't cheap. And a good tool aficionado will always take time and effort to preserve their tools.
The saw itself is awesome. It's low RPM with MASSIVE torque. These bladed weren't designed to be used to cut metal on miter saws. The RPM's on a miter saw are too fast. You can cut wood and plastic with the blade on a miter saw, but the higher RPM's will cause more friction, and the softer metals will gum up in the teeth, and your cuts will look like crap.
Don't mean to intrude on your video, but as an owner of this saw (for 4 or 5 years now) I wanted to share my personal experience and discoveries.
If you're thinking about buying the saw, don't hesitate. It's great.

I just bought one of these. I've been using a 14" abrasive chop saw for a couple of years. It's extremely slow, loud and the blade can walk.
I bought the eveloution b4 watching this video. The speed on the 4"x 0.250 cut was ete opening.
I bought this saw because I'll be fabbing up some railings and need a precision miter cuts on steel tubing.

This saw is awesome! I have a metal chop saw but this is by far faster and better than the one I have!

Yeah man, I was surprised with the speed and the small amount of sparks. Cut through everything like butter! Thanks for checking it out!

I love watching your remodel videos. I like the way you vacuum up all the sawdust and scapes. Looks like you have just about remodeled the whole house. Great job.

That is Awesome! I will have to get one. I’m always cutting metal and once in a while I have to cut wood. Best of both worlds. Nice video man!😁👍

Best of both worlds is exactly how I feel about it. I am the opposite where I am always cutting wood and when it comes to cutting metal it is ALWAYS a process haha. Not anymore though! Thanks for checking out the video, Andy!

So that metal piece for "weird shapes" is actually for square tubing to put the piece at the diamond configuration rather then flat square configuration. The diamond configuration makes for a quicker/cooler cut do to less surface area while cutting. Its also in the instructions you didn't read and right on the box 😉!

That is one of the greatest saws I have ever seen! But I have one question, can it cut through spray foam?

I must say I just finished using mine for the first time on some 2" schedule 40 pipe and so far disappointed. I used the pipe adapter (noticed you didn't use when you cut pipe) and cut is way off. I tried without pipe adapter and still off. The rear vice jaw isn't square and flexes big time when tightening the vice (could explain why cut is off) also the vice catches on top when tightening. I rarely leave comments and don't think I've ever written a negative one, but coming from a Klutch 14" metal cold cut saw I really thought this would be a few steps up. I will be calling evolution tomorrow for my $$$ back.

Ohhh, I only do small projects but this could be a great gift for my dad! Your link leads us to a saw that is out of stock, Matt. If I were to purchase another saw from this company, how do I make sure you get your credit?

Sorry for the late reply. The saw is back in stock, although times are very strange right now so... you know. Thanks for the comment. Hope all is good with you and hope you received the tape measure alright!

Hey, Christian! The blade seams just as good as new. I have only cut with it maybe 30 or 40 cuts since the video but every time I honestly get excited to use it haha. Thanks for checking out the video!!

If you put a Dimond blade on it, could this be used to cut 5.5" retaining wall blocks? (Or are the RPMs not fast enough for that type of cut?)

I just got mine, and for some reason I have tons of vibration and chatter. And its already throwing sparks from the cut due to vibration. Has anyone else experienced this ???

Do this in your garage and you will be finding metal shavings EVERYWHERE. You will discover shavings in drawers that were closed and behind doors that were shut. There will even be metal bits high up on your highest shelves. The person that invented this tool is the same devil that created the round toilet seat.
