Thanks for these video's. In the last 24 hours I did my first vatsim flight, did 4 closed traffic touch n gos and today did 2 closed traffic touch and go with a helicopter. This video gave me the confidence to give it a try!
The "option" also includes stop and go's! Though, if you want to do stop and go's, and it's busy, make your intentions known so that the controller can accomodate not only you, but also the other traffic.
Remember to get clearance to use or cross ANY runway at controlled airfields. In this scenario, Red64 exits RWY 24 onto RWY 15-33, but you’d want to have permission to do so prior. Otherwise, nice video. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. One question, when doing a traffic pattern in a GA. How do you know when to turn away from base/crosswind onto the downwind/upwind? So you don't end up too close or far away ?
triple your ground speed, then you get your 3 degrees fpm. You can use this to calculate how far it takes to take a 3 degrees glideslope from the traffic pattern altitude. Hope these helps (:
@@XCougar85X Ah I see, I am not that much of an expert on that, I kinda just go with the flow so you should probably find someone else to answer that lol.
What's an immersive way to deal with the faulty magnetos? Switch over to Aircraft Mechanic Simulator? :) - Jokes aside, it's good to have failures simulated. I guess you'd inform ATC and request taxi to parking / a hangar. But what do you actually do in the sim to fix this?
He's watching the engine RPM on the top left of the right had screen. Normal operation is running on 2 magnetos, in run up you turn one off one at a time to ensure both are operational. If one drops too far, that indicates you don't have good redundant ignition "spark".
When you listen to the Atis, the information gets a letter like K (Kilo) then you let the controller know that you have that information, which then is newer then J (J)uliet but may be replaced by L (Lima)
Your aircraft registration number is simply 64. Why do you refer to yourself as 'Red 64'. I'm familiar with the standard 'last three' abbreviations but I've never seen this one outside of your channel.
I think on VATSIM you're mostly free to choose your call sign (within reason and some are banned due to being callsigns of planes involved in real world tragedies)

Great Video. Thanks. Would enjoy an IFR flight on Vatsim.
What do you use to look around the cockpit and out the windows when flying in the circuit? Just the mouse?
Is it legal to use runway 15 as the taxiway without previous permission?

@@vip3rnb762 Thanks but i did not mean ToD and glideslope but how to size the pattern. Like how large/long are the crosswind and baseleg sections.

If the runway is halfway up the wing strut in a Cessna it will be the correct distance from the runway.
Do you have the link for the gtn 750 please. There seem to be a few

I would just press Y and slew off the runway if it couldnt be simulated properly. Thats just me tho, i dont know what VATSIM would think of that.
What are you looking at when you say the magneto would make this not fly well I'm not seeing what indicator you're looking at at this point

Who else liked the vid cause of 6:15 hehe
What does it mean when you say with information kilo?

Can you *PLEASE* speak faster?
Chris, he speaks ok. I can understand him clearly and its quite annoying when people speak fast. You cannot understand them! OK, feel me?
Ahh it's balooga from the command modern ops tutorials!!
