- A Loaded Penny Box - Penny Hunt and Fill #162
This is part 162 of the series (Boxes 307-308) and I do plan on updating it from each penny box I hunt from this point forward until the penny coin collection is nearly completed! Also, we will be updating the Canadian Small Cents Albums going forward as well.
I cannot believe how loaded the first box was with Wheat Pennies!
Keep hunting and good luck! They're still out there for us to find!

BOON
3:40 Of course it's a Denver.
High rob how are you
I send every 1950D penny I find to Dallas to annoy you.
Just kidding.
Maybe.
I just found in 1863 Indian Head penny in the Coinstar machine!
Nice!
That's a type 2 copper nickel coin very hard to find in G4 condition $25. If you can see the Liberty on the head band $125. Worth more when graded. Congrats
Wow. I never found a Indian Head coin roll hunting. Did manage to find 3 Indian Heads in a cash register over the years. 1878 1898 and a 1906.
It’s in kind of rough shape but the date is very readable. Just dark and very worn.
I’d send a picture of the 1863 but I don’t know how to send it over this phone. I also got seven wheat pennies today out of $10 in pennies.
I just had a box with almost all pennies 1985 or earlier... a good 300 each of BU or close 1983 and 1984... no DDR or doubled ear. Almost went blind.
Also over 5 pounds of copper and 50+ wheats... only oldies... 1918, 1934 and 38.
Oddly very few 1982s.
Fun
Nice box!!
On Friday I found around 568 2009 pennies from one box. I also found a 1907 Indian head penny in there too.
Beautiful 58D
Indeed it is!
GOOD LUCK ROB !😊
Thank you Linda!
Yes
Another roll to put away and almost 7 pounds of copper cents--- NOT BAD!!!!!
That was certainly one monster box as far as copper is concerned. Good for wheats as well, at least these days. When I hunted copper about 12 years ago I typically found 9% coppers. They are quite a bit more rare now, judging by your hunts. I didn't keep track of wheats, but if you supply it, I''ll calculate out your final weight of coppers/ 3.1 grams/ 2500 coins to get copper frequency
Fantastic penny hunt. I like that toasty 1928. I had a lucky evening myself, in finding a buffalo nickel from either 1914 or 1924 (hard to tell date) out of Denver. I seem to find nickels like it often in my area.
Spectacular penny hunt Rob
Lots of Wheaties! Shame there weren't more oldies.
This was a great watch. I can't believe the amount of finds in the first box!
Congratulations on getting 50 wheat pennies and 6 lbs and 14 Oz of copper pennies thanks for sharing Rob
Hell yeah great hunt. Stack that copper.
YOU ROCK & RULE ROB !!
Fascinating
Congratulations finding a full roll of wheat pennies. Nice video.
Fun hunt and great first box for sure.
Yes it was!
That first box was a lode. Nice pickups!
LOVE THIS CHANNEL..ADDICTING!!!!
Nice hunt lots of copper!
Great hunt , two thumbs up .
Great hunt, Rob! That first box was amazing! Send some of those my way lol. Great video, my friend 👽🤙🏻
Good box full of wheats !😊
Yes it was!
Don’t stop the searching! I believe you can find the rest.
It’s interesting that even though the first box had zero wheat enders, it still produced 9x more wheats in it than the second box.
Therefore, even though your freshly-opened half dollar box doesn’t have a silver ender, there’s still a chance to find a lot of silver in it.
Anyway, what an excellent hunt and as always, keep on hunting!
Hey Rob, what an amazing first box! I've had one box before with 49 wheaties, and man how I've been disappointed ever since! Just found a 1932 KGV on my second roll! Keep up the great work brother!
That first box was great!
Hey hey I had a good box of pennies this week 21 Wheaties 2 Canadians 13 brights from the 60s and 70s 8 2009s 9 59s and a 70 S small date ...the oldest was a 25 p
Bought a few rolls of pennies from my credit union found a 1895 indian head
In a box I believe it's 23. However with customer rolls I once got a whole roll of 1946 P. Plus others wheaties over let's say 150 plus wheaties.
Wow
✌️
Great finds! I just found my oldest this weekend with a 1918 philly. Thats my first pre-40's found in a bank box!
THAT BEING SAID, what a hunt!
that was a fun hunt I always like pennies an if I got 50 wheat cents in 2 boxes here I would be on top of the world to bad we cant get USA pennies by the box here in Canada
Keep it up Rob!! Good work
Great boxes Rob!
Recently bought a dozen wheat pennies from my local coin shop for $3. I had 2 spot fillers (1915-P, 1916-S) and an upgrader (1935 D) from the bunch.
Nice hunt Rob, congrats on all those wheaties brother 👍
If you added the 45 wheats, the 1959s and the 1969S, you would have had an even greater copper haul!
I can't believe with all those wheat cents you didn't find at least one steel cent.I guess it's time to bake some bread.
Amazing hunt man
I received my RFT round this afternoon!! It’s really nice 👍
Thanks brother!
👌
Tomorrow I pay my mortgage payment so time to pickup rolls of coins. Wish me luck.
Good luck!
👍
Fantastic hunt Rob! Keep it going! Ya gotta make it to a million! The foreign coin gave me a chuckle. I have found 5 of those of the 20 Rappen in 190,000 nickels. Any idea why we have so many coins from Switzerland in circulation here in America?
No clue, but they seem to find their way to us for sure! I have found several 20 Rappen coins too.
I found one from 2009 recently.
10 rapin is nickel copper and 11 cents U.S.
10:44 you just did roll 36! 😛
That 1928 looks like it seen some vinegar and salt at one time.
What a hunt! I always appreciate you taking your time to film your hunts to give us all our fix of the search.
That first box was crazy! I wonder if it has something to do with where these coins get rolled. Perhaps, when they get a large shipment, there’s differential sorting of the coins based on density. Still “random”, but the heavier ones may preferentially fall faster. As such, the first boxes of production may be more copper heavy (wheats included), while the later boxes are more zinc heavy. Would depend on if they use some sort of hopper.
I’d be curious to see if there was a way to track this. You’d be one of the better people to actually do it because of your regular volume. I’m imagining some sort of spreadsheet and/or program that can take in the data of your coins and make statistical analyses of the percentage of cent types. Obviously an automated visual learning algorithm would be ideal to automate the process, it’d get pretty tedious to maunually type all that out for each of the 5,000 cents in a 2 box hunt. I still might develop something though out of curiosity, could be a fun project.
I think the best way to approach that would be to keep track of the years each type was produced and their numbers (anything from 1981 and earlier is obviously copper and anything 1983 and later is zinc, as for the 1982s, those would be split by weight most likely)
I was deffo first!!
Where are you getting these boxes?!!! I’ve literally been turning up nothing but straight trash lately! Love your content, appreciate it.
Hey Rob! I have a 1857 penny and it has pretty decent detail. You have see the stripes on all the wings but it has some greenish around the edge so you can tell it hasnt been preserved super well. Is that something collectors would want or is it just a.. whatever kinda cool penny? 😂 im no coin expert lol but it'd be awesome if its a desirable coin
You can do it Rob!
Think we will get another Dime Time as a Christmas gift?
I have one ready to go.... it just is a tough hunt!
Great box & not so great box
Good luck Rob, how many pounds of copper do you have so far?
You found a 1950 D
LOL, I know!
Hello
Hi and BOOM! 💥
Found a1905 Indian head today
Man some good looking coins. Copper hot for sure. 1941 has ddo right?
Yep, 3 of them actually!
👍😎👍
Hey Rob! When you do a penny box hunt. Do you look for the 1989-D (copper) cent, and what is the true value of those coins. I see several listed on eBay for $1000 - $2000. Is this a true value for this coin???
I do listen for it or ping ones that look copper, but not sure how many are actually out there. I hear that all the years from 1983-1991 actually have had a copper planchet strike here and there.
Do you still need the 1964 penny.
I ordered the Whitman Blue Books for pennies recently and am learning about pennies. Do y'all save the copper pennies after you've filled your book slots?
No, I don't.Copper's not worth the weight and space.Silver is.
Nice hunt! I know you keep all copper but why do you seperate the 1959's?
Just a habit. I've done it since I was a kid when I learned the 1959 was a new design.
Bro where do you find these boxes congratulations. I'm from Southern California and I haven't found much.
They are from DFW, better than usual for sure.
First!
ALMOST!
Is it me or is the lighting a little redder on the left side of the screen?
Just curious, what do you do with the cup of copper coins? Do u sell them somehow?
Filling a 55 gal. Drum.
With the new pennies are their any of them worth looking at.
The main ones I look for are 2023 Extra V and the 2015 DDO
Also the 2021 3 o clock to 7 o clock the 2020 reverse die crack error. I found that one sold on ebay for $340 the 84 f.s 101 is a good one also the 83 ear. But the new ones turn to crap in just a few years.
rob who is your silver dealer
Waldo!
rob where is waldo at.
He is hard to find brother!
@@RobFindsTreasure where is is store
Where was that 58D hiding for so many years?
I know, right?
Not in circulation very long.Someones collection.
What do you do with the Canadian coppers?
I have kept them all. I have a HUMUNGOUS Bin of canadian coins.
@@RobFindsTreasure lol, me too.
As always Rob great hunt !!
I still want to trade you a penny box for a nickel mat . How do you normally do that?
Through email. Shoot me one and let's do it!
@@RobFindsTreasure awesome sir I should be getting one from my bank Friday or Saturday
It's funny Rob for some reason I don't know where to find your email address 😜
First?
Close!
What’s everyone’s record for 1 box? Mine is 119. (I live in the northeast)
Mine is 547 I think. It's an old video and we had 29 enders!
I’ve had an entire $10 bunch be all wheats twice. That’s 1000 wheats. One bunch even had three extra for 1003. That was in 1990.
Rob what's your opinion of Gold?
It's my physical stacking precious metal of choice, but I'm on a Silver budget!
@@RobFindsTreasure tell me about it! but have you considered goldbacks?
My phone is at 14%
Charging time!
Rob.. do you pull out the 1982 coppers?
I weigh them... 70% or more are copper. I segregate the 82 coppers from the rest. I have about 8 pounds of 82 coppers.
Yep, every one, every time.
