- Wood-Mizer Indiana Representative Dave Mann gives a detailed walkthrough of the Wood-Mizer LT15 and LT15START portable sawmills. The LT15 is a compact sawmill with crank feed, gas/diesel/electric power, 28” log diameter, 17’ 8” log length and production up to 320 bf/hr. It is an economical sawmill with push feed, 14HP gas engine, 28” log diameter, 11’ log length and production up to 240 bf/hr.

Good, straightforward video. I do like the Wood-Mizer's, well built. I have the Norwood LM 29, which suits my needs. I was on the point of buying an Lt15 from Colin in Australia, great bloke. But finances led me to the Norwood at the time. The Wood Mizer is a bit more money, but you can see that in the build quality. Plus, with Wood Mizer, Norwood and the multitude of mills in US, they are made right there, supporting local jobs, not just in sales, but manufacture. That was my reason for the Norwood. Supporting better working conditions I hope. China is cheap for a reason. I might try a Wood Mizer if I decide to try something new. We don't have the choice you guys have over there. Basically Norwood, Wood Mizer, Hardwood Mills and I think Timber King (but they were way too expensive)

Thinking the push feed of the LT15Start is an upgrade. But for a mill of this price, should have combined blade engagement and throttle up in one action.

Nice video. The LT15 looks like it produces nice lumber. If you can only run it a couple hours before the blade is dull than that doesn't sound good. How many board feet of clean green eastern pine logs can be sawn before changing the blade?

I bought a brand-new LT15 + trailer package from Woodmizer in South Africa and when it arrived it was labelled both "LT15 Start" and "LT15 Go". The head up/down needed FOUR turns to move one inch, the scale was set far too high (I'm 6'3" and I had to stand on tiptoe to get line-of-sight) and there was no way to measure/set the drive-belt tension ,so the clutch was all over the place. Apparently they sell hundreds of these in Africa but I still can't get a brochure or spec sheet on the model. Can you help me please, Dave?
You miss stating that the LT15 Start has a 14hp engine with no option for upgrade and the LT15 standard has a 19hp engine with options for 25hp gas, Diesel and Electric. Kind of important details in my opinion, as these have a big impact on milling.
He mentioned the gas, diesel, and electric options. But you're right, he missed the motor size.
Do you own one? If you own one for home cutting can one cut five foot sections of wood? I've got some of that, but it's cherry. Expensive wood to just burn.

The one LT 15 comes with one clamp . And if you want more I could buy more well one clamp isn’t enough you know that.. I’m glad you don’t sell cars . Because you guys would sell them with 3 tires .
