FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's Oni Press comic book of the same name, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World follows the eponymous slacker rocker on his colorful quest to defeat his dream girl's seven evil ex-boyfriends. Twenty-two-year-old Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) may not have a job, but rocking the bass for his band, Sex Bob-omb, is a tough job unto itself. When Scott locks eyes with Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), he knows she's the girl he wants to grow old with. But Ramona has some serious baggage; her supercharged exes rue the thought of her being with another man, and they'll crush any guy who gives her a second glance. Now, in order to win Ramona's heart, Scott will do battle with everyone from vegan-powered rock gods to sinister skateboarders, never losing sight of his gorgeous goal as he pummels his way to victory. Shaun of the Dead's Edgar Wright directs the film from a script he penned with Michael Bacall. @@draindeimos Roxy was defeated hat way in the movie. In the comics she got sliced in half and exploded into animals. Envy and Ramona's fight was adapted out of the movie with Envy's weakness being given to Roxy. Also the movie didn't adapt Envy's character growth. By the end of the comic she and Scott had made up.

This movie is like NONSTOP jokes. A good 2/3 of them aren't verbal. I feel like there's something to crack up laughing about if you pause almost any frame of the film.

I LOVE this movie just for the visual comedy alone. The cashier's mouth thing, the way Scott's ex appears just like she does in the post right behind here, how Scott has a hat on IMMEDIATELY after said ex trashes his hair, it's fantastic.

@@maidenfresno I'm not sure that's true. Based on how he walks in, it seems like the door is to the left of him. So either Ramona walked in and then went around him, which would be wierd since we would see her go behind Scott (unless she moved during one of the shots focused on Julie), or there are two doors/my left-door theory is wrong which is possible I suppose.

It's a masterpiece, but not mainstream accessible.
The DVD/Blu sales put it into the black. However, studios don't give that much consideration, so I don't expect to see any similar titles given such a large budget.
But I will always cherish THIS movie!

Right it's like what's her game? She pulled all these strings for him but insults his life while complementing. Her duality is hilarious.
The comics make this more clear, but Scott was a really horrible boyfriend/person. So Julie was protecting Ramona in her mind.

Envy Adams' character was probably in the development stages during the filming of this scene.
Well, she starts out just as bad as her film version, but becomes somewhat less antagonistic by the end after she finds out that Todd's been cheating on her with the drummer. When she shows up again in the final book, she's mellowed out much more and even alerts Scott to Gideon's surprise attack.
