I would without question go to the SSPX. I went to Mass at the SSPX Chapel in Fort Collins Colorado for the first time this weekend and it was a beautiful way to
Worship Christ. I think as time goes on Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre is vindicated more and more. I plan to attend their solemn high mass at Saint Isidore this weekend. They are very much a part of the Catholic Church and I believe anyone telling you otherwise is just giving you propaganda.
Love Saint Isidore’s. We attend there on most Holy days.
If Catholics in communist countries have maintained their religious traditions, so can we. Underground will be the future for us. Hail Mary said.

The Catholics in Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and what was then the country of Czechoslovakia all maintained their faith in the underground Church.
The Japanese Catholics went underground “Hidden Christians” in the 17th century to the 19th century for nearly 250 years when the Shogunate killed or kicked out all Catholic priests and they lived without sacraments or priests for 250 years. I’m a Japanese convert. I may have to move back to Japan. I’ve been going to SSPX every time I go to Japan to visit family.

Pope Francis has made it very difficult for diocesan parishes to have the Latin Mass. And we only had one once a month. Gone.

Our latin Mass is gone in our diocese.after covid.
Would not let us receive on the tongue.
Our priest who was with us all along the way of getting the Mass established said he would give us Communion after Mass.
Went to get a few things and the priest said you can take it all.
All vestments candlesticks etc.

I would keep the Sabbath holy from home. I left the NO when they intentionally had 2 female altar servers and I saw the priest deny an old lady wearing a veil communion on the tongue. I can't forget the closed churches when people needed them most. When my old church reopened, virtually all statues and old Catholic objects were gone. Our Priest led a prayer for Ukraine and draped the Ukraine flag over the lectern. That was it for me.

Oh my gosh! He stripped the church? Where & how did he 'dispose' of those precious statues & items? What a shame. Please, (respectfully) ask him. If you have others you can trust, utilize the 'buddy system' when approaching your priest, set a meeting (best not to blindside him) and remember God is with you if you meet him on your own, or with others! ♡
Just find a better parish. Take your money and your family to a parish where the priest is faithful. They're everywhere, you just have to look for them (even in the Novus Ordo)

One of our SSPX Priests said, that if something absolutely PREVENTS you from attending The Mass, you can open your Missal to that Sunday, and go through it with your family, say The Rosary, and you are still in good standing with Our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a good practice if you can't attend mass but it is false to imply that this fulfills the Sunday Mass obligation.

Why stop there? You can attend a UA-cam Mass such as Our Lady of Victory in Norwood Ohio. Two excellent SSPX clerics: one is a bishop. They hold daily Mass which is always reverent
I am in Mumbai. When i talk about these matters, many look the other way as if nothing is happening. Some others will call me crazy. Last Sunday one parish took parishioners to a water park to celebrate the feast of St John the Baptist. Another parish is taking its parishioners to a resort next Sunday. It's so evident where this is headed. Self-glorification and away from glorifying Almighty GOD. Thanks be to Our Lady, Most Pure, this spurs me to more intense worship before the Most Blessed Sacrament. Which is doubly joyful in the circumstances.

Christian archeologists graduatre from Christian colleges and then travel to Egypt to find evidence for that Great Hebrew Migration and they all come back empty-handed. In 9 years time, one billion Chrstians will celebrate the 2000th Easter in 2033 and not one will read that fine print on their spiritual plane ticket. Arch ishop Marcel Lefebvre's insight is that once you lose the Latin mass you have lost the functional beliefs that are behind it. I.e. once it is gone and a part of history, it would be very difficult to ressurect it.
A ketly to catholicism is not just what you say, it is also what you do. The Latin mass is a key way of expressing and acting according to apostolic tradition. The novus ordo is a rupture with apostolic tradition.

I'm in northeast Pennsylvania, our SSPX is completely full. Confession lines an hour into the mass. We will hold fast.
@@ransomcoates546 It had been around for a while. But for 2 or so years we only had 15-20 people at most. We are in a medium sized city. I guess perhaps our neighboring city has a permanent FSSP parish and people went there instead? Not sure. I don't go there as much as I want as it is a 35-40 minute one way drive and my wife does not want to do that.
My father had a pocket Mass book and a metal covered pocket Bible issued during WWII. If he couldn't attend Mass, he could read his Mass book. He was told the reading would suffice as Mass if he was unable to attend. I have both of these books. I pray the Pope stops restrictions on TLM. It is truly a gift from God, in my opinion.

@sam12587 I'd have to dig it out of my memento box but I can describe it. It was about 2x4 or 3x5, jean light blue. LET US PRAY was in capital letters on the front. I'll try and find a picture online. The Bible was issued by the military and has a statement from the President inside. Those were the days.
@sam12587 l searched on line and found several types from WWII, but not this exact one. I wish I could send you a photo. There are many different ones out there. I was surprised when I searched.

I’m part of the Fraternity of St Peter, in fact, I’m in the choir and i love being Catholic. I left the church and came back 20 years later only because of the TLM. I’m pretty sure the Society is safe, but maybe not a regular priest. If the worst were to come I would go to the SSPX. Just to explore, I found SSPX and will try it on Sunday. Also, I completely agree with Taylor. If there can be approved clown masses for small subsets of people what is wrong with keeping the old mass for our little community. I just don’t understand that. (Well other than we are a quickly growing community 😊)

SSPX and or an alter in my home and do what they did in the ‘70s and ‘80s….. Have a priest come to my home.
Everyone needs to quit splitting hairs and instead demand our priests be priests and bishops be bishops in line with the apostolic and liturgical tradition. Pray! And Pray the Rosary!
I'm doing that now with my little family. Priest on the down low at a wonderful and devout lady's home in my subdivision. There's about 12 to 20 of us who attend every Sunday. I'm in the Philippines and the Bishop in my diocese has not been very sympathetic to our cause.

Here's another option, and a good one imo. When we lost access to the TLM after Traditions Custodes, our priest made his Novus Ordo Masses way more traditional. All masses are now as orientum, Sunday Mass and most daily masses are in Latin. Altar railing is the only way he distributes Holy Communion to the lay faithful. We have a schola. It's a beautiful way to participate in the Novus Ordo.

Our parish was given 2 years to transition from TLM to NO by our Bishop. We have 1 year left. Our parishioner count keeps increasing every year. We have 2 Latin mases every Sunday with the overflow sitting in the adjoining Social hall watching on a monitor. Also we have Latin masses Monday through Saturday.
In my parish we were given 2 years also. It’s growing. If this new document comes out the priest will not be allowed to say TLM even in a chapel or gym. Not sure what I will do
You can ask for FSSP or ICKSP to create a parish nearby
I'm a convert. I'm over 70. And I am in an assisted living facility. At first I wanted to leave the Church. Then I realiRd we can contibue. I hardly go any place anymore. So keeping the Catholic practices with prayer of confession, etc

Anne, I have a friend that also lives in Assisted Living apartments and he comes to the SSPX chapel that is close by.
Please, be strong and pray. Don't leave Church because Jesus said : Matthew 16-18 I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.. We are living in the end of times and we have to endure everything. Our Blessed Mother will help us to win this battle with evil. TRUST IN JESUS

We need to start a prayer crusade for the SSPX.We need to start raising money for the SSPX so they can build new churches and acquire churches that are for sale and former Catholic properties.While the SSPX has been building new chapels and acquiring closed churches in many states there are still states with no SSPX chapels.

I understand how you feel. It was similar for me until I found SSPX. My local parish is a social club and no longer a house of God. I left,and I have communion with Our Lord properly now.

Popes are supposed to maintain traditions not create new ones, unless there is a new religion being propogated😮.
Since Vatican II, the Catholic Church has become more and more like a Protestant church. They have taken out anything that offended other denominations. It is as if they are apologizing for what we believe and how we worship. I say to all of us, have patience because it will change. I see the Eucharistic Revival as hopeful. When more people believe once again in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, we will then have strength in numbers.
Pope Francis issued his document while the Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was still alive and in fact, probably the latest church development that he witnessed prior to his death. Popes John 23 & Paul 6 were also canonized. I am no longer surprised at what the Papacy of Pope Francis can do. We are in it for the ride and you all have the College of Cardinals to thank for it.

I live in France and the BEST he actually can do is a radical, total ban of the TLM : if he does so, masks will fall down and there will be a tough general resistance.
If, on the contrary, he will just restrict it (for example, forbidding anyone who's not in ex Ecclesia Dei Institutes to celebrate it and to open new Mass centres and suppress diocesan TLM), there won't be any significant response and he will succeed in doing a great harm to Tradition...
Francis stated today the TLM isn't going anywhere. 🙄

I have one question… what about your Priest that no longer has faculties other than to say private Latin Masses? People say ‘I’ll just go to (fill in the blank)’ but if there is no Priest with faculties to baptize, confirm, wed…. This is a lot more complicated than lay people just saying where they’ll ‘go’…

I occasionally go to the Shrine of St. Anthony’s (Monastery ) in Ellicot City Maryland. Mostly for reconciliation as it is provided every day. When I first went there I asked a brother if the Mass was reverent. He said yes. Unfortunately it is an NO Mass as those Masses go it is reverent but nowhere near the TLM. I find it (the NO) to be a hodgepodge and very Protestant.
Fr Gerald Murray gave an excellent explanation of permissibility of SSPX
But going to SSPX needs no permission to go to. Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre has always been right, and the priests that left the SSPX and formed the FSSP, caved in long ago by compromises including and accepting the 2nd Vatican II
Nice of him to do so, but we should be way past this debate.
I’m a TLM supremacist, but the reality is that a majority of Catholics are still decades behind on this topic. We should be grateful for these clarifications that come from the hierarchy
Back in the 60s the church was very against the Latin mass continuing. They found a couple priests and went underground for a time.
As a horseback rider who rides through open range land in Southern Arizona I totally relate to your analogy you leave the gate as you found it. That rule is absolutely sacrosanct. You do not mess with that rule. There's some newer riders however that don't seem to understand that rule.

@@MommaF8 I have to admit that chasing cattle on horses is a lot of fun particularly when the whole family is involved. Cows are very easy to control, but the bulls can be very tough to turn around.

(Our dairy cows never got out, thankfully! ) While it DOES sound fun, I'd still be irritated by the thoughtless dope who left the gate open! Did they help with the round up?

We ended up chasing fiery young colts down busy roads long into the night, until a living angel suddenly appeared on the scene in the early hours of the morning and the entire stampede literally followed him straight through the gate and back into their pen.

I'm 84 and showing my age. I am able to attend a diocesan traditional mass which is about 45 minutes away. There is no other traditional latin mass offered within my ability to drive. Moving at my age is not a realistic option. I'm at a loss as to what I can do. Novus Oro? Stay at home and pray the Rosary (I have prayed the Rosary daily for nearly two years)? I feel that I have been abandoned. . Any thoughts? Thank you
If the NO mass in your areas uses the proper words for the sacrifice and have the true belief Jesus is truely in the Eucharist it has been said its valid.
In your case, I would watch an SSPX Mass online similar to what we did during COVID-19 closures. You need the TLM for the sake of your soul so take advantage of the technology we have now. It wouldn’t be your fault if you can’t go in person. That would be on Bergoglio.

@@mrlxii62 I think the message the person is trying to convey is that we must TRUST that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist, even if the presentation is not ideal. The person was trying to give comfort to the 84-year old fellow Catholic who may not be able to travel but still longs for Jesus Christ, Truly Present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Bread of the Angels. Especially since you mention Marriage--we know that the Church is the Bride, and Jesus is the Groom, and the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass is indeed like us being wedded to Jesus, we remember that all marriages go through trials and tribulations. We must continue to pray, fast, and do penance, and especially PRAY for Holy Mother Church, and for souls to be converted. "Fiat Voluntas Tua!" ⚜🌟
How many diocesan seminarians bailed after TC? Literally dozens in our diocese. A former seminarian here tells me he was lured to diocesan seminary with promises that his traditionalism and love of the TLM would be respected. His actual experience was admonition and penalty for the least mention or expression of traditional worship in the context of his NO training. His biggest disappointment was the seminarians who knuckled under to the abuse and abandoned their Traditional leanings.
I heard the argument that they did alter the mass since Pious the 5th so they can over turn it. But the "changes" were only very minor (like altering the calendar feast days a bit). It was never a major thing. Pious the 5th did a mick drop, you can't get around what he said.
I agree with you! The gospel of today talks about the wolves clothed as sheep! Rome has lost the faith! You can see the fruits of this pope: pachamama, pro lgbt, pro 2030 agenda, cancelling TLM, cancelling bishops and priests that defend the real doctrine of Jesus....Maranatha!

Me and my fiancée have planned TLM wedding in August, to be conducted by FSSP priest outside of his diocese but approved by local bishop. We were planning everything past months... Since the rumours occurred we have sleepless nights... Please pray for us!

I agree, since the NO is so edited that the unique Catholic portions of it are gone. I have found TLM and will go there more often since I miss those prayers, making me a bit resentful.
Bergolio has already banned the Traditional latin mass in Melbourne Australia.

Hello, as an ex-pat Aussie living in the US, I am curious. Are you sure it was not the Hierarchy in Victoria that banned it? I'm asking because if it was Jorge who banned it, why zero in on Melbourne? Why not all over Australia? Maybe the Bishop/Archbishop or whatever that banned it, just said that it came from Rome so he would come out smelling like roses !!

SSPX you say? The necessity of the SSPX was always justified since its inception.
Thank God you are able to see now, even though it took a lot longer than it should have.
Secondly, the Church may have never got to this state if more people resisted and held their ground back in the 1980s when things started to get really bad. Only God knows, let’s resist en masse, and stick with Tradition.

You are so right. There is no TLM near me but there is the Ordinariate of St Peter which does the Mass prior to Vatican II. I go there. It is a holy and devout Mass with the priest facing East with people. It is the Mass of my childhood. I know that because I still have my 1962 missal. The NO leaves me wanting as to real reverence. I am happy to have this Mass available to me and others.

We feel as you do. 100% committed to the TLM. Sadly we do not any SSPX (we are blessed for now to have 2 churches that have the TLM). One our priest's mentioned a backup but did not go into detail. 🙏✝️
Legal loophole:
Just call the TLM the ordinary form which is exactly what it is because there is only one original perfect form which is beyond extraordinary because it transcends time and space. Novus Ordo is its own thing detached from anything related to the True Apostolic Catholic Church. Exactly the reason Archbishop Vigano refused to show at the Vatican because he stated the people inside the Vatican are not of the Catholic Church but of something entirely of its own accord and nature.
I joked with our priest from my parish when the Covid planneddemonic happened which kept people from attending mass such as restrictions on number of attendees. I stated: “But Father, are we not all ‘One Body in Christ’?” Lol, legal loophole.

I attend a diocesan TLM, I do not know what I will do if it stops. It is possible there is a priest who loves Jesus, loves, Mary, loves the Mass, more than he loves his stipend...

I'm astonished that this was released 4 hours ago considering Fracis said earlier today that the TLM is here to stay along with the FSSP.
In actuality, there is already a precedent to refuse to consecrate new priests so basically lip service.
Sadly, though, many Eastern Catholic rites were also revised after Vatican II.
Vatican II allowed all eastern rites to fully restore all lost or replaced tradition.
I’m reminded of the 1st Chapter of 1st Machabees (without the bloodshed) and Pope Francis in the role of Antiochus. Traditional Catholics inherently oppose his woke, globalist Liberation Theology (aka Marxist Lite) agenda and must be dealt with. Most don’t understand the deeper meaning of disposing of this, our traditional liturgy and worship. Once gone it will be gone forever. His Papacy was welcomed by the Socialist left from the beginning and he embraces the worldly culture and that ideology that promises the perfection of Man and Heaven on Earth.

I live in Florida but transitioning into retirement and moving to South Carolina. When in Florida I attend a diocesan TLM but there are 2 SSPX chapels around 30 mins away. However in South Carolina I attend a diocesan TLM in Georgia. If they ban the TLM I would have to drive 2 hours to an Ordinariate Mass. Not sure what to do to be honest but I guess drive 2 hours. Wish SSPX would open a chapel in South Carolina.

Yes I will be living in southeastern South Carolina and I go to Savannah. Charleston has the Ordinariate and it’s about 2 hours for me. My heart is broken with all this situation and I pray it doesn’t come to pass.

My FSSP priests say not to go to SSPx, but I was never convinced. Now that I’m in Canada, it’s so much worse here. I have almost no qualms about going now.

when I was a kid, I knew the Mass by heart and when I came back as an adult the words changed and I still don’t understand why. I mean the words don’t change that much.. except for the fact that when the priest is at the altar, he says “ for you and for many” instead of “all”?? I guess some people are now screwed and they don’t even know it. lol but seriously…
"Many" is scriptural and the original Latin. "All" was a mistranslation, and Pope Benedict changed it back to "many." Regardless, this one word did not affect the validity of the Consecration. So many trads are confused about that.🙏🌹

I know a Reverent N.O. is not the same as a TLM but the Parrish I've been attending (I'm not currently Catholic, I was raised and still am currently Protestant) has a very reverent N.O.
I haven't been able to attend a TLM yet but plan to in a few weeks.
Here in Perth Western Australia, with a population of over 2.1 million, I knew of one TLM mass. And that is now restricted.
