- I had trouble getting this camera to connect to my home network with my iPhone initially and I couldn't find any How-To videos here on youtube as well. So, I spent the time to better understand the process and then created this video. I hope it saves you the frustrations I dealt with initially. I apologize for the poor video quality...I was holding the camera in one hand and trying to do the process with the other.
*I purchased this little IP camera from Amazon to use at the back door to my office so that we could see who was coming and going without having to walk to the back of the office each time we hear the door open. Hi is there an option in the app to adjust motion detection sensitivity? As i have m1q version and it is too sensitive sending lot of false alarms and cannot adjust the rate of motion detection thanks. Have you tried upgrade the firmware through sd card using bin files on mydigoo forum? what is the latest version of the fw of m1q..

Hi, thanks for the video. Was struggling to understand how to set it up. One thing I can't do is bind my phone number to it. It says error when I key it in. It has a code for China I think at the top and says China but I can't change this. Will this cause any problems? Many thanks

Honestly, the included instructions were part of the problem I feel. But after much trial and error, I believe I figured out what the designers intended and I created this video to demonstrate that.

Yes. It does need to be connected to USB power at all times to be able to work. There is no onboard battery.

I have not tried to do log into this camera via IP once it's connected to my network. I will try to do that and let you know how I make out.
Hi - Firstly thank you for providing the video. For someone like me who's dyslexic and tends to get lost in written instructions your video is a godsend. I'm sure instructions will come with the two cameras I've just ordered, but I have to ask about one thing on your video. What is the cable for and were should the other end plug into? Cheers, Bob
Bob, You are very welcome! I myself struggled to get this camera to work correctly using the included instructions and couldn't find a good how-to video on youtube to help me. When I finally discovered the correct procedure, I felt it would be proper to share what I have found to help others out.
The purpose of the cord shown is to supply power to the camera. The camera does not have a battery. It does require electrical power to operate. There is a USB port on the camera which is used for multiple purposes, one of those being to provide electrical power to the camera. I have the other end of the cord plugged into a small cell phone "wall charger" that I had laying around as a spare.

Bella Young it definitely supports WPA2. That’s what my Wi-Fi is using in this video.
Will this still store video on motion detect when no wifi is present?

I still can't get it to record when it detects motion... any hints? All the settings are right, it detects the motion, I get a notification, but it doesn't start recording to the SD card which is installed and has plenty of space
Having the same issue. Did you ever get this figured out?
I did notice that the motion detection requires like 10 seconds of motion before it starts recording. Check into that to see if that's what's up.
I figured it out. I had the wrong time set in the settings, so my videos were not showing up in the app until the next day. Thanks.
Are you able to view the recorded videos on the app because I see nothing. I have an sd card inserted but when I go into images I see no videos recorded or anything. Ate the supposed to save onto the app for some time on this camera or they dint .. sonif yiy dint have an sd card this camera is useless Exocet to view real time what’s going on and you can’t look back. I’m so lost with viewing videos. Like do I have to take the cats out and put it in my computer to go back and watch videos. It dint show none on the app at all. Mine sure isint

inner prana Yes. It can be connected to AC power. The only accessory included with the camera is a USB cord. This USB cord can be plugged into a USB wall charger like the ones that come with cell phones and other electronic gadgets.

magalka2000 According to the manufacturer, this is ONVIF compliant. Most NVR software is designed to work with ONVIF-compliant cameras.
so has this got to be connected to your home wifi to work ?? if so whats the distance the camera has to be ?? or does it produce its own wifi ... like my QX10 ?? any help please ;)
gothmaniow if you have an sd card in it I don’t think you actually need WiFi tbat would be to use the app maybe and view it but I don’t see what else you would need WiFi for besides tbat maybe

Ziyad Yassar - According to the manufacturer, this camera is capable of operating in the ONVIF universal security camera language. I have not tried it, though. If it works like that, you would be able to download a free IP camera viewer app and then add the camera feed to the app as a universal ONVIF camera.
Hi, My problem is trying to view the camera, it keeps saying Network Connection Timed out. Why is this?
Logan Runn, I have not run into that issue with this camera. However, I have seen it many times on other IP cameras. Each time I get that message I have found the cause to be that the username and password I entered into the app to view that specific camera is not correct. I'm sorry to say this, if you can't get it to work, I would recommend you do a hard reset on the camera and then go back through the initial setup again.

can i see the videos recorded on the sd card on my computer normally or i need any special program to see them sorry for my english im from mexico .
I have never tried to access the recorded videos that are stored on the SD card while it is installed in the camera. I know they can be viewed via the mobile app. However, I am not sure they can be viewed just by "logging into" the camera.
The manufacturer's specifications state that the camera is ONVIF compliant and supports ITP/UTP which would lead me to believe you could log into the camera and view them. But I cannot be certain that you can.

I will assume that you mean Micro SD card. a standard size SD memory card is far too large to fit in this camera. This camera is designed to fit only MicroSD memory cards.
To answer your questions...Yes. This camera will work with an 8GB MicroSD card. Understand, though, 8GB is not very much space. I would recommend adjusting the settings to record only when the camera senses motion or I would advise you use a larger memory card.

The DigooEye app doesn't work when I'm not on my home wifi. It says "Network Error." What's the workaround?
That's strange...
When you are doing the initial setup of the camera with the app, are you connecting the camera to your home wifi just as described above? Or, are you doing the direct connection of the camera to your phone app which bypasses connecting to your home's wifi? Both options are present in the app.
Yep. I'm connecting it to my home wifi like described. It's just when I switch my phone from wifi to my LTE, it doesn't work anymore. Then when I switch if back to wifi, it works again. I saw some other users online are having the same problems, and there doesn't seem to be a solution.
Yen Tan i was having the same issue due to me changing my wifi password and i totally forgot about the camera and when i tryed to check the video or log on to see my feed it said "Network Error" to make my story short i had to reset it about twice for it to start working again. So while the pin is in the hole open the app and click on it . It starts to refresh. Best of luck

try a different app called Digoo Cloud. this was the only thing that help. I was able to connect after trying EVERYTHING else.

It’s my understanding that the app is no longer supported by the company. This is bad news, of course, because it means the camera cannot be used the way it was intended.
You can try the Yousee app. Someone else on here said it works.
Look for the apk. Download and install it. If you want I can send u the link

Hello I still could not get it work. The beep is not recognised. I tried orient the phone in different positions in vain. I did reset it and it said wait for phone. Then I emit the sound but nothing happens. Any hints?
I haven’t had this camera for some time now. Unfortunately it sounds like others are stating the cloud service is no longer available.

+superjon 78 thanks for the video. I purchased 3 digoo cams and one digoo dvr recorder from banggood. I just would like to know, if we can setup the video resolution below 960 P becaus I consider that i will have only a 300 GB sata harddisk instaled there and i will be 18 days away from home in some periods. So this could be short of space. There is also the motion detection option. Does it safe HDD space effectively? I guess i will receive the cameras in 2 weeks. Yes. You can adjust the resolution settings so that the resolution for each camera is lower than 960p. I have never used these cameras with the Digoo NVR but I have experience with many other NVRs. If you lower the resolution on each of the three cameras and also turn on motion detection, I can't imagine you would have any trouble getting 18 days of activity saved on a 1TB HDD.

Donna McDowell Yes. As long as the camera stays connected to the network and the network has internet access, it will be reachable via your phone when the phone isn't connected to that same network.
i am having trouble creating a mailbox for the account. all it says is mailbox format error.

I did not need a "mailbox account" to be able to add the app to my iPhone. As well, I did not need a mailbox to be able to initiate the app and add the camera. I'm sorry I cannot provide more clarity to your issue.
I do not believe when you change the cameras picture from hd to sd or ld, tbat has anything to do with using your cell phone plans data at all ... that will maybe use more space on your SD card if you chose HD vs LD but it won’t use more of your cell phone data just because you have the app for the camera on your phone, the camera is it running off of your phone itself or saving anything onto your phone even its saving onto the sd cards so it’ll use more space depending on which option you chose or less space .. technically you don’t need to keep the app on your phone even to work the camera. Maybe to set it up but after it’s set up and going it’s all set and will just continue saving kn sd card and when it’s full it will rewrite over the card again. This is what I believe by what I’ve seen in using the one I habe and I’ve been using for over a year now and I also have theee other different types of camera running. It’s small cute little camera but for the price of it it’s around $15-20 I wouldn’t recommend it. I have two others that were around the same price that are way better and the apps are way better they record and you can actually view all the videos on your app without downloading an SD card for a few days then they go away. If you want to view them after that thete always on the card but they stay on your app for a few days one is A Besder white camera it works excellent and the apps are way better. I think personally this camera was a pain in the a.. to set up and don’t work as well. Just my opinion anyways. I’m no expert in any means lll. 😁

Try turning your volume down to about 25% and let me know if that works. I originally tried connecting with the volume up as it instructed but could not get it to work. Turning the volume down made all the difference for me.
I have tried. I even tried resetting it and making sure I have a network that is 2.4. :-(
I noticed that most videos they have an apple phone, I have a Sony xperia z5, will that be a reason, I have the app so I wouldn't think so

These cameras are impossible to add. I’ve purchased 4. One never connected. 2 others connected after 1000 tries over 3 days. Working on the 4th now. Tried 25 times. Used an iPad, iPhone, and android phone. All different volumes and distances. D’oh!

vishya b It is now in storage and I am not using it. If I recall correctly the first month was free and you could do a number of things like record to sd card and alarms. After the first month you are required to pay or else all it does is livestream video. This camera was ruined when they switched to DigooCloud app.

Yes. It does have a motion sensing feature that will allow the user to record only when the camera detects motion.

I was not aware that a new version of the camera had come out. I just checked the Digoo website and they do not mention a newer version of this camera. Did you mean a new version of the firmware? Yes. The most current version of the firmware does retain the motion detection in the functionality.
How much weight?
I do not know the actual weight. But it is very light. I would guess it is less than 40 grams.

This thing doesn't create a WiFi AP to connect to, so going from this video it uses audio via the app to make the device work.......... Well i'm not going to install the app, because I feel they're forcing you to install it and given the low cost of the device and the crazy permissions required on the app, I do not trust this as far as I could throw it.
Strider9655 - Your concern is understood. There is no secret that many devices today connected to the internet can cause great security concerns for the user. As always, do as you feel is best for you.
Strider9655 you shouldn’t even need the app anymore after you get it hooked up and going I don’t think it’ll save on you sd card
