In this video, I attempt to repair an ADP-400FR that was sent in by a fan of the channel. These supplies are hard to come by at this time so hopefully I can repair this one.
Great, I'm looking for a transistor 40N60M2 mosfet my power supply get damaged due extra voltage I repaired every thing except the transistor I couldn't find it Do you know where to find?? 40N60M2, mosfet GKLTw vc CHN 204
Wow very interesting video and I always watch ⌚ your videos you are the master of the master professional electronics engineer 👃 👏 and its amazing how you can fault find 😀 keep up the good work can't wait to see more videos thank you very much 🌟 😊
One interesting difference is they moved the motherboard socket further and rotated the prongs 90 degrees I guess to ensure someone doesn’t put the wrong supply in (like the DR). If you’re interested in looking at another FR; I’ve yet to crack the one I have that loses power under load.
@@ToltecMerc yes, about a week after this comment I decided to list it, I have too many fixed consoles and parts laying around so I need to clean house before I do another batch.
Absolutely amazing your troubleshooting skills are . i have so many dead power supplies that i wish i was as good as u that i could fix them all. With your videos i have got the confidence to drill deeper into them.Thank you so much. Also i always discharge the bulk caps as soon I open it up. I have a question for you , i have this slim supply in which the volts on the bulk caps go v high . I replaced the caps and the 16121A but that didnt fix the issue someone else suggested a bad DAP49. What are your thoughts?
Look at the large value resistors in the feedback loop. It sounds like there is not a proper feedback from the bulk capacitors to the 1612A on pin 2. Depending on the model, could be a 9.1Meg and 1.5Meg.
Thank you for your video!!!!!!! I've tried a repair of an ADP-400FR with identical components damaged (shortage by roaches). But I was unlucky. The power supply without load stay on... when I put load, stay on for five minutes and after this destroy again diode, mosfet and dap... Any suggestion? Thanks in advance! Germano
Excellent. Pure knowledge and information. No bad jokes. No cats...Thanks.
Thanks for the visit and for commenting. I'm just trying to bring people along for the ride while I fix stuff. Nothing fancy.
One of the most underrated channels !! Love the videos ❤
Thanks so much! I do appreciate it!
criminally so, but with the quality of this content and the subject matter I can see this channel eventually sky rocketing.

Thank you! Welcome!
Another enjoyable video
Thank you error Hunter.
You’re welcome! Glad you liked it!
Absolutely great repair!!! Thank you.
You're welcome!
In the trace you repaired, is it frowned upon to use solder to make that connection?
Amazing content! Love the indepth.
Thank you! I do try to show how hard some repairs can be.

That's very kind of you! I will do my best to bring you more such videos.
You know what might be broken? Does my power supply output 8V?
Very nice job!!

I think I noticed you selling one on eBay. Similar name.

@@ToltecMerc Thank you I'll look into it tomorrow .
Still a braver man than me! Those things frighten me.
I still enjoy them. They can be challenging but it's very satisfying to repair them.
Hi
I love your videos, thanks for that
I have a ps5 psu with problems.
Do you know what the value of the zd35 is? on my psu it is short
I believe it is 9.1V.

I could only guess. Did you use the proper MOSFET? If it breaks down, it could damage other components as it shorts.
Awesome, a master class.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very good video, really in depth and informative. Subbed
I got the same power supply and it is not giving any voltage do you think you can fix it?
Wow you had to work 4 that one… its more fun that way 🎉
I do enjoy a challenge! It is absolutely more fun that way.
I have a no power PS5 coming tomorrow. Hope it’s not as bad as that one. 😅 good work.
