How To Ship Hot Chocolate Bombs
Вставка

- This is how I individually wrap and package my hot cocoa bombs to friends and family. The cookie tin can be found at The Dollar Store, and they have other types of inexpensive storage options. We'll then pack the tins into a larger box, and I usually go with USPS, so I'll go over which boxes to use.

This channel combines my love of both baking and science. As a naturally curious person, I love to study, explore, and problem solve. I did that for many years in a biochemistry lab, and am applying that mindset to a lab we probably all have in our house... the kitchen! I've baked for my family for years, but am now just starting to document this journey and share it with all of you.

I packed 4 bombs in a small cookie tin with marshmallows
then I added shreds to the top of my bombs between the bombs and the tin top
closed the top and shipping taped the top very securely to the tin.
I mailed it in a small box I reused
packed it with lot of paper and shipped
It reached its destination in PERFECT CONDITION
😀 Yay! What a lucky recipient!
I'm so happy I found your channel. Your tutorials are easy to follow with so much detail and clever ideas. You have a very cool and soothing voice that makes you want to listen and not change the channel :)
Aww thats so nice of you 💕
That packaging looks amazing!
Great idea i purchased a bunch of tins last year at local stores from Christmas clearance for .25 cent!!
What a good find! That’s so cheap!! Full those babies up with baked goods 🥰
That’s a great tip, putting it on my day after Christmas shopping list...
This packaging is genius and so cute!!!
Thank you 💓
This answers so many of my questions, thank you!!!
You're so welcome!
Wow! So helpful amazing detail ideas . And beautiful 😍. I guess I know what I’m getting for Christmas!!! Love and miss you sis.
Dang it spoiled the surprise. I’ll make yours durian 😬
@@Sugarologie thanks 🙏! But I’ll pass on that...You love your big sis that much!
I put in all the big stuff an pack with yummies, fudge, small bags of carmal popcorn, candied nuts, homemade candy, apricot balls, etc. This year I'm adding pot holders and other things I make, i gotta start sewing again.
What a lucky person to receive that package 🥰
Thank you for making a detailed video!
Omg mine are way to fragile to manipulate that much and I put a lot of toppings so I don’t think I could wrap them this way but your packaging is just WOW!!’
Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Are the foils the same as the silver baking aluminium foils? Can I use them too to ship the choco bombs? Thank you!
Oooo thanks you! I gotta go to the dollar store cause those tins are cute and only a dollar. I need to get my boxes from there. These are cute!! 🥰
Yes! They have many more too... I was looking for the square ones with clear windows on the top. They're tin as well, they actually look really cute for displaying what's inside. I think my Dollar Store maybe didn't have them yet.
I also bought a bunch of cookie trays... so cute!
So helpful !!!!!!!! Thank you
Yay, I hope you are able to share these with your friends and family now 💖
You could use different colored cupcake liners to delineate what flavor it is
I don't know why I didn't think of that but that would be the smarter thing to do! lol 😀
Looks amazing! ❤️Just a question,do they melt and how do you prevent them from melting?thank youuu
For me, the don't melt... you could buy ice packs if you think they will, but you'll need an insulated box to get the coolest environment.
Great ideas! Thanks
You are so welcome!
Giant Ferrero Rocher!!😲
I know! It was unintentional but as I was wrapping them I was like.... uh, they look like huge chocolates
That's why I clicked!
Thank you for this video
You're welcome!
Hi! Just a quick question 🙋🏻♀️ how long do you think the chocolate stays good for ? 30 days?
So if you use dehydrated marshmallows and wrap them in foil real tight, I imagine they will be good for at least a couple weeks. I like to think about a chocolate bar... those stay ok in a cool and dry place for much longer, so you should be good.
How far do you make these in advance and long do they keep? Thanks!
They should be good for at least a week... when shipping I usually make them the day before and ship out on a Monday 😀
Hi, I’m using candiquik for my chocolate as well as ghirardelli . Would that chocolate melt ?
Candiquik is a type of coating chocolate, just like Ghiradhelli and Mercken's, which I use in all my vids. Those have a higher melting temp (more stable for shipping) than real choco, but they will still melt at some point.
So Sweet and Great Ideas! 💡
I wonder if those will ship to my address 😊💕
I think it might 😉
Hey, your tutorial is easy to follow. How many days do the hot chocolate bombs last?
Mine lasted for a couple weeks, wrapped in foil :)
beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for being here 🌷
How do you keep a few cases of chocolate bars from melting in a hot car for 5-6 hours.
Hi! May I ask what kind of chocolate melts you use?
Hi Krizza! They are Mercken's. I have the exact kind underneath my Hot Chocolate Bombs Tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/Ya6iHL18Fyw/v-deo.html
What do you think about almond bark? Would it melt?
Yes, almond bark will work! It's also a type of candy coating that will melt and form shapes in silicone molds. 🙂
How long do the cocoa bombs last at room temperature?
I would say at least a week, esp if you use dehydrated marshmallows 😁
This is great idea! How you calculate the shipping for every order?
I just use usps priority. Before all this shipping craziness, I could do coast to coast in two days, for a flat rate. I just stuff the box with other goodies to get my moneys worth 😉
Ok that's great idea! Thank you for responding!
Can I ask why you individually wrap them in foil? Could you put them in a clear treat bag instead so you can see how pretty they are when they open the tin?
Oh yes, I only wrap them when I'm shipping them or storing them for longer periods of time. But absolutely use cellophane bags if I'm just handing them out locally. 👍🏼 (Plus you can stuff more in the tin when they're wrapped in foil for shipping)
What size are the Amazon chocolate mold linked in the description? I wasn’t able to find the size on the website
70 mm = 2.75 in
Where did you get the gel packet from?
I actually got that one from a chocolate vendor I ordered from online, and I believe you can just purchase them online from Amazon. 👍🏼
If you are a cottage business can you sell the across state lines?
Every state is different, so check your local cottage laws. I know in California you can't. 😭
hi! just a quick questions! if i use candy melts and put these bombs in a preset for my cousins, will they not melt?
If you keep them at room temp they are very stable! I use Mercken's and mailed them last week and none of them melted... but I mail them to where it is pretty cold.
@@Sugarologie hi! another questions what chocolate best used for these bombs! candy melts or chocolate chips?
@@michellelennied.castillo6200 don’t use chips . They begin to melt quickly at room temperature. Use the Merckens
Hey good evening when you ship do you ship overnight/next day
Awww, I don't sell these but google you local cottage bakers, they need some love right now and I know they're making these ❤️
I'm sorry you misunderstood my question. I wasn't asking to buy i was asking when you ship them to your family do you ship them overnight/next since it's chocolate? Like to make it doesn't melt.
Ahhh I see 😉 I ship using USPS Priority 2 day shipping, always ship out on a Monday so there's no sitting around. It doesn't melt for me because I ship to the Northeast, but it you're worried use ice packs and an insulated container.
I clipped because I thought they were Ferreira roch bombs 😂 those would be good
I know! I wrapped them and then I was like uhhhhh, these look like giant ferrero’s 🤔
@@Sugarologie maybe tou could make those and then show us how in a video 😁🙏🏾
@@DivaDen lol! that's actually kind genius ...*writes ✍🏼 "giant ferroro rocher" in recipe idea book*
The closed caption really ticked me off today. Anyway, thank you so much for this tutorial. Very informative
You’re welcome 😊
They look like giant Ferrero Rocher when they're wrapped. That would be yummy but I guess the Nutella are pretty close to that. What about a eggnog flavor?
They do! That was very unintentional but I loved it nonetheless. Yes! Eggnog is a fantastic idea 👍🏼
Im really sorry for asking this but can you make a Nutella sheet cake recipe please
There's never any apologies allowed when asking for cake 😀
Are you looking for a cake that tastes like nutella or a filling? I think you'll get a stronger flavor with a filling, whereas a cake flavored with Nutella will be lighter.
😬I have a few cakes on the request list but I'll happily add this one as well.
@@Sugarologie if you can a cake flavoured/taste like nutella would be great
@@fuzzbuzz1122 Alrighty I'll look into that 😊
@@Sugarologie thank you so so much 😍
I have people who would like me to ship. How much does it cost to ship? Should I do express mail?
Not sure where you're located, but I use USPS priority mail, which is 2-3 days in transit. Most of the time they've been excellent - I recently got a package from New York (and I'm on the West Coast) in less than 48 hours. Cost for USPS varies, $8-22 per flat rate box, depending on size.
I use the flat rate boxs at post office, they have 4 sizes. You can pack that thing full, as heavy as you want but I do use packing tape to secure . I get some of each size so I can match the goodie to the box better, I found out recently that you can go online and they will bring them to you.
How does it not melt on its way over there??
Compound chocolate melts in the low 100's F. It you're shipping in a hot climate you can always include ice packs as well. I order all my chocolate online, and it always comes intact.
@@Sugarologie where do you get you chocolate from? What do you think about almond bark?
I hope this works I'm so nurves
Yeah, once it leaves your hands it's kinda up to the mail service, something totally out our control. I feel ya... just pack it with lots and lots of cushioning!
Thank you love
Hey guys! I STRONGLY advise you to NOT mail your bombs like this. Trust me! I followed this method and the bombs are more susceptible to breaking. I would use these tins for gift giving in person. And package your items for mailing in plastic containers with lots bubble wrap, peanuts or other packing items. Do NOT depend on these tins to protect your bombs especially during this time of year. Mailers are rough and it doesn’t work. Let my losses be your lesson. Happy holidays!
I mailed 6 packages out this way from coast to coast last week via USPS...just took a day longer than normal transit time. I think the key is to ensure that you surround each bomb with paper securely inside each tin, and then surround/wrap every tin with a sufficient amount of bubble wrap to cushion and restrict the entire tin's movement within the box.
But you're right, plastic containers would work as well, so long as they were hardsided and not flexible 👍🏼
@@Sugarologie I’ve gotten so many compliments on the tins though! I don’t even think my customers realize that they are dollar tree tins. Also, has anyone ever told you you have a great voice? It’s like calming and soothing. I don’t know what you do for a living but you should look into making money off of it! 😊
