Porcupine Tree - Sentimental (Keyboard Cover)

- My keyboard cover of Porcupine Tree's song "Sentimental" from their outstanding album "Fear Of A Blank Planet".
The piano riff is based on a group of three 16th notes that cycle around a 4/4 time signature, so that the first beat always falls on a different 16th note. This creates a shifting feeling and gives the song a unique groove.
Enjoy!

Yes, syncopated rhythms are very hard to get right. Well done
Qualifiers: I love P-Tree and Steven Wilson in general; I know this song VERY well as being my favorite melancholy-feeling song of all time; I watch a LOT of youtube, music and otherwise, and I think I've left maybe two other comments: You absolutely nailed it! I didn't even know the left hand stuff was as involved as it is -- all the nuance and feel is there! Bravo
Perfect job, BRAVO!!
Nice one! Love this
Very nice. Well done!
Exceptional!!
Merci
C'est le meilleur tutorial que j'ai trouvé
Love it.
This is so awesome! Dude If you could give me a MIDI file for this it'd be so awesome! It's difficult to learn while watching it on video. Thanx for the video tho..I've subscribed too...cheers! :)
You rule!
Awesome job! I'm trying to learn the song by looking at your fingers, but it's so hard! Did you by any chance made a sheet of it?
0:59 really threw me off for a while. Like, the right hand is just constant dotted 8th notes, and for some reason its a quarter note once. That must be a mistake in the original right? I thought you made a mistake at first, but its in the original version too. Well, even more practicing i guess
Or, it's intentional to make a smoother transition at the end of the pattern. If it's intentional, I have even more respect for this band
This makes my brain hurt
I love it. Is there any sheet available? 🥺
Awesome cover! I was able to piece together the parts from your video, I just can't get the rhythm down of the intro, I know it's in 4/4, but the polyrhythm of the piano really throws me off. Any tips on how to count this? Originally I tried as 6s and 5s but no regular pattern of that is established.
Check out ua-cam.com/video/bjkcMfZuL-8/v-deo.html for breakdown of the rhythmic cycle. Cheers!
This video explains it:

Its dotted 16th notes!
So the pattern starts has 6 accents in the first bar and 5 in the sec and third and repeats.
Since there are only 6 beats in the first bar starting on 1 while the next bar starts on the AND of 1 and the third bar on the E of 1
