    Good video! I've got a CR-V but it has the same engine layout. I've never worked on a power steering system before, but this tutorial is great. Thanks for mentioning the tools needed and the socket sizes. That always helps! Thanks for the video!

    Good Video young man, i'm a mechanic myself for many years, not on cars but Industrial Diesels and any piece of machinery you could imagine on a offshore drilling rig, but cars are my hobby and this video describes and shows very clearly how to remove and replace a PS pump on my Honda, job I need to do soon as it's leaking.

    This is a nice video, but there is no discussion of how to drain, refill and bleed the power steering fluid, which the text says is necessary. I am experienced enough to know how to do that, but leaving out those steps is an oversight.

    Ok aiman question. Say you put on a new power steering pump. It has no fluid. Are you supposed to fill it up with fluid prior to installing and then after installation bleed the pump by turning on the engine and turning the steering wheel lock to lock several time?

    Have question why is it turning steering wheel on utmost right or left for long time will damage the pump? as have you mentioned.
    Have it done while on park to check the leak on vtec then I notice strange sound until I lost my power steering.
    TIA

    @EyeOnAiman After you replace the PS pump, should the pull to either direction be a bit tight at first?
    How should I test drive it? If I'm on the highway, how can I ensure car wont break down on me or hear weird sounds?

    Do you need to Bleed it to get any air out?

    • @EyeOnAiman
      @EyeOnAiman  5 років тому

      No we didn't bleed it out, perhaps we should have but we've never had to bleed the fluid when replacing power steering pump on other cars in the past. Maybe we're just lucky...

      @@EyeOnAiman ok thanks. Mine started leaking foam from the cap so idk if its couse i put the wrong fluid i put lucas power steering. Not the honda power steering so no idk if i need a new pump or got a leaking hoose.

    • @williamlaurence4754

      The Simple answer is no, but when replacing any Hydraulic pump always fill it and the lines with correct grade oil, this reduces the chance of damaging the pump and reduces excess air being introduced into the system. On hydraulic power steering the air will end up in the Reservoir in the form of bubbles but eventually any air works it way out by the movement of the steering from lock to lock.. let it settle and check level..that's all Folks..hope that helps.. remember do not any dirt into the system, that could prove fatal as there are very fine tolerances in the pump and system..

      @@ThePtown91 did u fill the pump with fluid before starting the car/ from the high pressure line? Also only use Honda power steering fluid on the pump.
