Hey Chris...Huron (Huron-Wendat) are a First Nations People of Canada in the Ontario and Quebec Region, historically they were allies of the French Colonizers. A Good review of a well-designed knife at a decent price, I am sure folks will tune this knife up to get the best out of it.
The review in which we find out that Chris likes a "large rod for handling tough wood" . I've liked the way this looks from the first time I saw it. Match it up with a mini Duku Parang for an outstanding combo.
Cool vid ... nice knife. There's also the larger Condor 'Large Huron Knife' which also has brass wire wrap on the other end of the handle (5.75in blade, 10.75 length vs 4.25" blade and 8.5 length of the Huron).
I tend to prefer smaller more agile belt knives and I'm very tempted to try one of these. It looks like Condor is upping their game somewhat like Schrade has done. Good for them!
Com'on workin wood with a knife is a given, no more feather sticks, We are all dudes here, the real question is "how does it cope with making a sandwich?" Just being honest....you know it's true .......sandwiches......
Thank you for your input on these knives. You obviously know what you're talking about. Please continue to share more videos on these great knives. And I love a good leather quality sheath as well as a quality knife. Thank you very much. Oh by the way... that lanyard for around the neck knife was beautiful. I'm hoping to make this. LOVE THESE VIDEO ! GREAT STUFF!
Looks like a nice EDC category knife. But I couldn't help thinking, I'll bet that knife would be good in the kitchen doing food preparation. Another great video Chris, Thanks.
Alright, time to say goodbye to my current 4inch knife. Gotta make room for this guy. When I get this, my 2 (and only) fixed blades will be designed by Joe Flowers. My other knife being the Tops Brakimo.
Great review, thanks. BTW the Huron were an Aboriginal nation occupying Southern Ontario. They aligned with the French (who were the first Europeans there) mostly and the Brits did not like them and hired other Aboriginal nations to kill them off. No relation to Navajoes.
Just an FYI. The Huron (aka the Wyandot), were a tribe of Iroquoian Native Americans/First Nations people that lived on the shore of Lake Huron in western NY and eastern Ontario. I am pretty sure the knife design was named after them. It looks like a smaller version of the knife used by Wes Studi's character Magua who was a Huron war captain in Last of the Mohicans.
Huron native people live north of lake Ontario to Georgian Bay And To the East Along the St. Lawrence into Québec . The primary function of the knife would be to Process game Skinning Beavers Processing Deer And Fish . Most original depictions of the Huron Show them with a tomahawk , They Traded extensively with the French and British Hudson bay company so Hudson bay company often trade tomahawks and knives for Beaver pelts. So in reality the knife would most likely be Hudson bay English or French design . Interestingly this type of knife was often worn by them around the neck .
So, Chris, or anyone else with experience for that matter, if you had to choose this Huron or the Bushlore to take into the field which would you go with?
A Good review of a well-designed knife at a decent price, I am sure folks will tune this knife up to get the best out of it. I haven't taken notice of that one. Gotta admit man, your stuff is almost all that keeps me in the loop Pmsl loved the bow drill comment. When u were making the board I was thinking to myself wtf Chris doesn't do bow drill fires.
definitely an awesome secondary knife. if a person needs to do all the jobs that you did with that knife, that person would have a different knife. A big beater it is not. but you put it through its paces. it's too small for an EDC knife but too small to be a primary bushcraft knife. I think it fits in the small jobs around campsite knives
A nice companion knife for a day in the woods or camping. Not really ideal for driving nails, felling trees, chopping through doors, etc. but who the heck does that in real life with a knife? Very few and far between.
Great Review! However it appears handle is on smaller side and difficult to control. I own several condor knives (nessmuck n wood lore and kephart. Great knives!
Question - did you have to sharpen it before your review? Most condors need help right out of the box. At least that is my expierence..... BTW: I am a 1095 fan because they are easy to maintain. FYI: There is a Huron indian tribe that explaines a lot about the look and the name....
I hope you are being funny .. he talks about having caffeine pills in his ready bags/kits... oh well .. .went with something I found the highest number of reviews with the highest rating...
I understand .. but Caffeine can help with poor circulation and also if you are having withdrawals because you dont have coffee or soda .. or something like that ..
already have a Jess X....after reviewing this knife..what is your "best" belt knife for under $100. Seen your review of the Garberg....and the Garberg killer...just want to know what is your choice for best belt knife under $100.00
Chris, please give me your thoughts on the Condor Primitive Sequoia Fixed Blade Knife Im waiting for my purchase, but I noticed its sold out every where.
John Godwin I did return Condor 1075 like block buster movies. But their new 1095 knives although a little over prices meaning they can't compete with Esee and Tops 1095 knives. With that said I have Matt Graham's Primitive mountain knife and his 1075 "Canyon carver" Both are doing what they was made to do just fine. Carving and ez honing perfect. Now would I pick those over o1 3v. For Vancouver island. Hell no!!! For a day hike to play close to the house and have just my belt to sharpen it??? Hell yeas!!!
Hi Chris, I have a question. I have a knife design drawn out, but I can't find a knife maker who will make it. Do you know any knife makers that will make a custom drawn design?
Emory Bragg my humble advice wld be to contact makers thru Instagram. The big, well known makers with long waiting lists probably not worth bothering with but look for smaller makers that u like their work on Instagram, shoot them email. lotta business like this done thru instagram. European makers also worth trying if no luck in U.S. And knife forums of course.
Please do a saw and hatchet review and cut some grooves on that tree with the saw and then take a hatchet and pop the grooves out to make a flat spot, , , , I know you can do it
Hi Cris. Suddently there was a question.. Pardon my my Inglisch, im Dutch. I posted before and i called myzelf a Condor loyal.. And i still am.. But could you shine a lite.. on this on:::Why did they (Condor) changed the great stamp in\on there blades and knives, Condor\El Salvador,,, into something that dissapears like snow in the sunshine on second and third use.../When it was real stamped into it, it was a skreaming advertisement.. For FRee????? And they chanched it???? Why. Whey. Und Waarum.. I know you and others, have the connections and the knowhow to answer this question,,,,,, Why did Joe/Condor changed the stamp??????? ,,,, ,Whit respect and regards ...... Gronzki@Groenzki.nl
Use a Benchmade or Barkriver everyone f ups he $250 knives when they are John Kerry millionaire jack a's. Me I protect my K-Mart and Walmart made knives.
+JS Krawz Mora Bushcraft Black also has an injection molded plastic sheath that probably costs them $.05. This has a NICE leather sheath. Gotta factor that in.

@Mister Myxlplyx No. 'Indians' live in India. Native Americans, ok, but Indians... No no no...
@Mister Myxlplyx see in Canada we listen to people feeling an adjust accordingly.... you know women can vote now eh?
Yes, for sure, tool steel can be sharpened and honed to a better level
I'm almost pretty sure (me being from El Salvador) the name is "hurón" translated as ferret in English 🤔
The review in which we find out that Chris likes a "large rod for handling tough wood" . I've liked the way this looks from the first time I saw it. Match it up with a mini Duku Parang for an outstanding combo.
Blue Mountain Bushcraft and Outdoors Sounds like a plan. Right on!
Just bought one. That is the best review you have done in a long way before. Thank you. (Also bought a rat 1)

Thanks for the video. Nice knife. Not sure I like the binding near the top of the handle.. but its a nice design.
saw, loved it, bought it, now waiting for it.
Get it?
Been interested in one for bushcraft and all round outdoor knife. Great review
Alright, time to say goodbye to my current 4inch knife. Gotta make room for this guy. When I get this, my 2 (and only) fixed blades will be designed by Joe Flowers. My other knife being the Tops Brakimo.
Im a great fan of Condor and that looks a fine knife
Dont like how the edge starts late. Bushcraft knives need your hand to be as close to the cut as possible IMO.
Great review, thanks. BTW the Huron were an Aboriginal nation occupying Southern Ontario. They aligned with the French (who were the first Europeans there) mostly and the Brits did not like them and hired other Aboriginal nations to kill them off. No relation to Navajoes.

That's a nice knife . I've had my eye on that since you showed it with Joe Flowers at Shot Show 2017, Right On.
I'd also like to add I like the shieth.
Try frog lube for your blade keep protected from the elements, I found it on knife center. Com 13.95 a tube

Love the looks of that knife
I like it, not a beast but gets the job done. Thanks. Tony
good general purpose woodsman knife.....i like it
the name uron is the name of a tribe in the great lakes region and lake Huron specifically is named after them.
I'm almost pretty sure (me being from El Salvador) the name is "hurón" translated as ferret in English 🤔
I must have this knife!!!!

You're always entertaining to watch.... yes, I learn too! 😁
I’d like to see a 10.5 inch model. 6’4 280 .I have huge hands. This is a neck knife to me.
I really enjoyed this, Chris. Be blessed my friend. John
Jesus is the way
So, Chris, or anyone else with experience for that matter, if you had to choose this Huron or the Bushlore to take into the field which would you go with?
Pmsl loved the bow drill comment. When u were making the board I was thinking to myself wtf Chris doesn't do bow drill fires. Well played 😂😂
Ditch the chain, and upsize that beauty to a full size knife and I'm definitely a buyer! : )
Condor knives are cheaper in U.S than here El Salvador im looking to buy this one and the new yoshimi machete
This is a mini Jungolo! Which is another sexy blade by joe the boss
You should do a review on the Ka-Bar 14-inch grass machete knife
Excellent review.. Thank you
Buying this soon, bonus points for being made in El Salvador!

The huron were a well known indian native tribe
And apparently it was originally going to be called the Navajo, if you check out the little intro videos Condor does each year for their new stuff.
meptalon
Are...
There is also a big lake named after them. and they still are a prominent tribe. at least up here in Canada
Thanks for a Great, Honest Review, you use what you have With you! Even 😨 Baton with a Knife 😨 I like the look of that Knife.
must be missing Will, you went all bushcrafty on that one.
A nice companion knife for a day in the woods or camping. Not really ideal for driving nails, felling trees, chopping through doors, etc. but who the heck does that in real life with a knife? Very few and far between.
Just get an axe for that work! Cutting a bloody tree with a knife? Christ, what have we come to?
Isn't this the Navaho knife?
Styled after a Navajo knife. But they name it Huron. Lol. Huron is a tribe. The city, and the Great Lake, were named after them.
Be a great companion knife for the Amalgym.
Great Review! However it appears handle is on smaller side and difficult to control. I own several condor knives (nessmuck n wood lore and kephart. Great knives!
Good video! Thank you for the review!
Ordered my JX5 ! Will review when I get
BTW @preparedmind101 I got a vector(single) "max" Thunderbird
Just used for fires.Love it. Thanks for the tip

+Levi Caddell no
PREPAREDMIND101 BTW: It looks like a good knife. Thanks for the review....
I know this question is WAY Off topic, which is your favorite brand of caffeine pills?
I hope you are being funny .. he talks about having caffeine pills in his ready bags/kits... oh well .. .went with something I found the highest number of reviews with the highest rating...
Moldavite is a crystalline stone
I understand .. but Caffeine can help with poor circulation and also if you are having withdrawals because you dont have coffee or soda .. or something like that ..
lol
already have a Jess X....after reviewing this knife..what is your "best" belt knife for under $100. Seen your review of the Garberg....and the Garberg killer...just want to know what is your choice for best belt knife under $100.00
+Da Dude Prob the Jakaaripuuko.
beautiful knife 🔪.
why the red knuckles chris? you pop somebody in the kisser lol
Thanks Chris!
Please review the Condor Otzi. There aren't any good vids on it.
Chris, please give me your thoughts on the Condor Primitive Sequoia Fixed Blade Knife
Im waiting for my purchase, but I noticed its sold out every where.
Puedes usar tambien "Milpelin", es un buen producto para que te salga pelo. Saludos
Condor Rules !! Nuff said ;) LuV 2 won one someday !
Looks like a woodsman jr
Buen video amigo...
Beautiful knife, actually.
does anybody have those in stock fer sale?
Is that regular 1095 or 1095CroVan?
Regular. The only 1095CV I know of is on Beckers.
I think there's also a lake by that name...
Is it better than condor
Nice lookin blade. Not for me but it looks really nice
We never take an axe. I like it too. Thanks Chris.
do you know when the honey badger will be available again
I've been burnt buying Condors, for $70 I'll buy a Garberg
John Godwin I did return Condor 1075 like block buster movies.

John Godwin Kansbol is a good knife also.
Yep, or Terävä Jääkäripuukko
Or just buy an esee and be done with it
Then you know nothing at all about steel. The Garberg is junk at any price, and the 1095 Condor now uses is infinitely better than Mora steel.
its like the gentleman's bushcraft knife

Prefer my Mora Black Bushcraft knife for $50. This knife seems a little overpriced.
+JS Krawz Mora Bushcraft Black also has an injection molded plastic sheath that probably costs them $.05. This has a NICE leather sheath. Gotta factor that in.
Sombody get the defibrillators this man just died
Videos are just way too long
So you want "commercials", not reviews.
