Gathering storm isn't really meant to be damage on its own, it's basically just a giant jolt proc. The super will do more damage based on you continuing to shoot the boss.
This is accurate, I'd hoped that he would have a test on just throwing the staff - and then another test where his 2 team members try to imitate doing a DPS phase while he does nothing, to see how much it increases because the Jolts proccing from the staff (by others damaging it) contribute to the Hunter who threw the Staff's damage numbers.

@traviszane5334 Honestly, super-charged arc energy being orange in color wouldn't make much sense. the ignition damage isnt the only bug out right now, apparently (in my experience) if you use monte carlo and proc the melee, then pop glacial quake, you can't melee because it replaces your super melee with the weapon melee which you can't switch to or off of while in that super.
Since Cuirass is super specific, and star eater can be used across any super, I think that it sitting just above star eater on damage for that same super is right where it should be. Team don't nerf cuirass
I am pretty sure that ignitions have been bugged since at least the contest dungeon, I was using dragon's breath on the first encounter during the contest mode, and the first brig would die pretty easy, but then when we would come back from the first room and I would shoot db at the second brig, it would take much longer to die and the third and final brig would be even worse, felt like db was actually doing nothing, I didnt think initially it was a bug and that maybe db was just missing the fire pools or something, but what's happened here would explain why using db felt so bad recently. I was using db regularly before doing the dungeon but I didn't really notice it doing less dmg before then, but for sure at least since the dungeon came out, ignitions have been bugged.
God they NEED to do something to make spectral blade not be shit. It was good for like 1 patch with gwisin and then since then it's had no purpose. Giving it stacking damage bumps, but the targeting needs to be fixed. Sucks so hard that such a cool super is essentially useless across the board.

They've been dominating since WQ lmao.
Like every other season? Who could’ve guessed
jfc the hunters raging at the "this" part of the sentence. Reminder that since before Light Fall there were complaints about titans losing their identity. chill out with "WAAA THEYRE ALWAYS THE BEST" lol no.
That’s surprising about ignitions because I did a 1200 kill onslaught solar game the other day with dawn chorus.
so chat any titan super he tested with spirit of synthos is incorrect due to only regular synthos giving super buff
Ignitions are reportedly bugged right now and doing a lot less dmg than they're supposed to. Also so is every titan melee aspect (doing 90% the dmg of a normal melee instead of 100% the dmg of a normal melee)
16:31 The nice thing about Blight Ranger is that it doubles as a defensive super. So if you’re up against a boss and their posse that won’t stop firing at you, one hunter can effect all that firepower back at the boss while everyone else does DPS
Edit: Traveler damnit, I’ve gone and started another comments section holy war. Third one this month.
Hunters Ursa furiosa
Or you could just use the buffed unbreakable aspect. Doesn’t require your super, and actually does decent damage compared to blight ranger lmao
@@Lightninstrikem unbreakable sucks I’m sorry. That shit ain’t doing any good damage to a boss
@@Lightninstrikem blight did over 600,000 , that cute lil shield doesn't come close, lol
@@IceColdKillaTrav if you think it sucks then that’s your loss. I never said it did good damage or to use it against a boss. I said if you’re going to be defensive, then you might as well use unbreakable and deal 20-30k dmg instead of using blight ranger and your super to deflect maybe 5k dmg unless you’re fighting an ogre.
Nighthawk now does less damage than a basic novabomb.
This is what happens when devs give into a vocal minority. The majority of the playerbase (Hunters) get shafted and are left with no role to fill in the sandbox.
Why is he using Gryfalcons with spectral blades??? 😭
Did I see my boi Raijuu immediately getting half the super back?
Yep, jolt gives extra super energy and the super can gain energy back due to it.
@@AmirifizBut how does it give super if it's supposed to be on kill? Surely a not intended interaction from the exotic
I think they should keep the changes for thunder crash. It the first time in years it been good and it feels great!
I’d never thought I’d see the day where there’d be a super used in the same way as ursa furiosa sentinel and be effective. Sure there’s well and, well not really bubble. But a defensive blocking super for hunters? Cool.
Should've aimed up with Spectral, same reason you do so with swords on boss targets, helps with jank hitboxes
I'm curious as to whether Bungie will fix, or even knows about, the Tesselation bug where it occasionally zeroes out your mag, forcing you to swap weapons back and forth to use it again...
Damn, I wouldn't have expected those twilight axe numbers. What's the numbers for just the main axe throws without picking up the created weapons? Also what's the base thundercrash damage, without cuirass, now?
Blight ranger could actually have some build potential. cancel the super right at the tail end of the super. pair something like Wardcliff and see what the damage proc could do. ngl, sounds like it could cook on paper.
I know it wasn’t a change, but I’ll mention it anyways… I was very surprised with the damage the strand hunter super heavy attack spam does against the servitor in the dungeon
30:35 Nah your good Cross. It’s what they need to hear to avoid coming up with silly stuff.
im not sure if the ignition nerf is intentional or not but i finally get to go back to young amkara spine trip mine build and if feels off... this explains it
Make nighthawk great again😭
Blight.. Blight.. Holy, WHOA!! Appreciate this Science 💯💯🤟🏽🤟🏽
It’s been a journey but SUPER DAMAGE TESTING IS HERE!!! 🙌🏽
Imagine a world where LFGs consist of "Need Hunter, must have blight ranger"
Bungie should just give balidorse a 300% buff
I think it’s bugged right now cause in previous seasons it surpassed 500k
But considering it’s meant to be an ad clearing exotic. Actually giving it a good super energy refund method will be more than enough. Not the shitty one it has right now.
I was hoping to see a sanguine dps rotation test with all the boosts you get with it now.
Blight ranger did 700K over like 15 seconds. The DPS is horrible.
Finally, someone with a bit of sense - not sure why everyones hollering like its just broke the game, its been made even more niche than it used to be at this point
@@Jacob-fl1wm exactly. Its just a terrible exotic and always will be.
I hope they keep thunder crash + cuirras how it is
Re: pure subclass v prismatic: you can’t use the classes items without being on prismatic so to use star eaters, you HAVE to be on prismatic
So whats better for behemoth glacial quake Titan? Synthoceps or Star Eater x6?
Should be Star-Eater, it gives 70% extra damage as opposed to Synthoceps giving 50%
@@TheFawse thank you
For blightranger, can you reflect player projectiles? rockets, novas, trace rifles etc?
I swear if warlocks cried like titans do whenever their supers are lacking, we would have a dmg buff for chaos reach already. CRY LOUDER WARLOCKS WE NEED THIS!!!
LOL truuu
What was the damage of blight ranger's blinding burst? It took a fair bit of time to charge but it didn't look like it was used properly in testing
You can tell how much cross hates hunters when he tests golden gun and doesn't make himself radiant lol
Been loving my spirit of star eater + eternal warrior since I got it. Think it was like my 4th class item. Also is great to quick swap now that I have spirit of syntho + hoil.
Have been wondering why my song of flame suddenly sucked ass against bosses, now i know why, hope they fix this soon
could the Solar surge be the cause of the nerf? i do not know the numbers but its kinda seems like ignition is getting nerfed by what should be buffing it
Spectral blades needs and insane buff to be usable because nobody has used it in pve for many many years
Damn as a hunter main i feel embarrassed about our numbers lol
odd question, but if you used blight ranger and had a titan using banner shield would the projectiles benefit from it
ive been waiting for this moment.
