Tim you have to check the opening statement of one of the lawyer. She started ranting about anime for a while, it was pretty wild. Have to imagine sitting on trial and you hear your lawyer go rogue like that must be scary AF
Personally Id like to imagine Coldplay signed that pledge because theyre implicated in Thugga's racketeering charges . like they run a YSL-UK arm, presumably selling Ketamine or shanking opps
I wonder how many of the rappers committing crimes and telling on themselves realize that the pioneers of gangster rap were just actors using their imaginations?
Frank and Bill are probably not the names. Thats correct Tim, they are DeFrank and LaBill. GunRack shot em 9 times as he explains in his newest album. "Community." That was the biggest joke said
haha not quite how it works youd still have to prove it obv im assuming they are using the lyrics as evidence more in a way to tie him clearly to actual, likely circumstantial evidence. Where maybe the evidence could be possibly argued isnt enough proof but then you add he literally rapped about the crime theres semi evidence he did, chances are good its real I cant imagine they would ever be able to JUST pull up lyrics and convict a guy just on that alone with no actual evidence
If you’re following this case at all, they literally have no hard evidence against him, read the court files, their entire case is built on lyrics, 3rd party witnesses, and text messages, on top of not having evidence, the prosecution are a bunch of amateurs that got caught using dirty tactics several times now like omitting evidence from the defense and adding an absurd amount of 3rd party witnesses at the last minute
Same thing happened to a case involved with rapper Kshordy. The cops found him with a gunshot wound and an ar15 and he talks about the incident in a song.
Imagine being killed and then the killer references your death in his song using your name and location. Then they make millions off of the song and in term your death through credibility. This country’s culture is screwed.
That's actually not a bad idea for the family of anyone killed by a rapper or their gang to sue them. Technically they did contribute to the rap career and make them money and that money would be owed to the family.
It is true. I blame the record labels for being idiots. The movies always say parts of this story are made up for legal reasons. Why a record label allows them to say exactly what happened is crazy. Just sit down with the artists and tell them to change names, races, and details that would ever link you to anything
The record label’s goal is to make money. If talking about crimes makes money, why would they stop them? Don’t take responsibility out of the hands of the fools that do this. It’s nobody’s fault but their own.
@@dwoodstwin no, it's their responsibility. They own them now. If their artist goes to jail or gets killed they are out millions. The artist is their asset and they need to protect them. Letting them talk about real crimes is insane. Like Tim said all they have to do is change the details and suddenly the cops can't link them to the real crime anymore. It takes 5 seconds to edit the details of a song. Absolute fools talk about actual crimes they did without a full immunity deal from the court
@@Teamshmo that’s a solid point but unfortunately these guys are disposable. You see these rappers sign to labels all the time and never have albums come out. They give them a couple dollars advance and own 80-90% of the proceeds of anything they make. The labels recoup that advance quick. It’s like a car dealership. They sell you a car and almost hope you stop making payments so they can repossess the car and sell it again. If we’re talking about a high level guy like Eminem or Lil Wayne then yeah they want to protect them. But for some drill rapper in Chicago, they can replace them with somebody in their same neighborhood.
You've got the right guy / Only alibi's a different driveby / If you read the sworn confession I never hid the Smith & Wesson outside / I'm waving it in this shirtless selfie holding a wad of fives
In the 1990s lyrics were used to convict an innocent man of killing his mother. After 10 plus years, the guys friend was convicted. Happened in newfoundland canads
They railroaded that poor kid. Ne evidence. No real suspects. That song he wrote was all they had. There's a mountain of evidence against Young Thug and his coconspirators. The lyrics are a very small part of this huge trial involving a whole criminal organization. Also, that dude absolutely did not do 10 years. After his conviction he appealed and was released within a few months. Before he ever had a second trial DNA evidence cleared him.
@nigelmcgiver2275 how about making music to begin with. Then maybe talk about positivity and inspire those within their community. If i talked about 1% of the shit i seen growing up id be incarcerated among the schmidts i hung out with in past endevors
Rap snitches, tellin all they business Be in the court and be they own start witness Do you see the perpetrator? Yeah I'm right here! Fuck around get they whole label sent up for years
Most rap songs are just confessions for bragging rights, so using the "lyrics" against him in court case isn't anything shocking. What's shocking is how consistently low IQ they are to keep putting that shit out there in the first place. Not exactly known for their intelligence, are they... It's not a bad thing, though. Most criminals are their own undoing.
If you really follow the case then you know this judge is super biased and has committed several questionable and unethical actions against the defendants. The DA has lied several times about the evidence and the defendant will definitely end up getting a mistrial and let off.
Rap snitches, telling all their business Sit in the court and be their own star witness "Do you see the perpetrator?" Yeah, I'm right here Fuck around, get the whole label sent up for years, uh
@@theaceofscrubs5014 we are saying the same thing, lyrics alone won’t send someone to jail, they are just one piece of a case and used to corroborate other evidence

Exactly, such a great tune also, miss the supervillain.
MF Doom was ahead of the curve. Always.

I believe Key and Peele made a sketch of exactly this.
😂 "shot up Darnel with a long-ass gun and tossed it into the aquar-ium"

Gun Rack's lyrics from a conceptual album. 😊
Oh yeah 🤣🤣🤣 he keep coming out with a lot of goodies

the Coldplay part kills me lmao
So happy I got to hear Tim Dillion say “ 5:44 me and my slimes are above the law”
Personally Id like to imagine Coldplay signed that pledge because theyre implicated in Thugga's racketeering charges . like they run a YSL-UK arm, presumably selling Ketamine or shanking opps
Tim, they're not going to rap about how the cops are good to get off murder charges. Instead, they'll just play cops in hit TV shows and movies.
What cops are murdering people ???
Well done sir.
@@iB_pOpN don't forget all the engineers. its no wonder everything is falling apart.
@nmedders this can’t be a serious question. if it is, you are not a serious person
@@macstrong1284 He said "murdering" That's absurd. You know it and I know.
Tim Dillon is right, you just change it up. Billy Joel DID start a fire, but he wrote in a lyrical alibi.
I saw him with the matches a few seconds after the fire had started, he looked very suspicious.
Just because one can rhyme like a child does not mean one can think like a smarty pants...
Hilarious. When keeping it real, goes wrong....
That's a Chappelle skit I believe "when keeping it real goes wrong"

“Say it was the fish spot on 79th” is ironically very smart. I can’t even count the ‘fish and chicken’ joints I see when I do business on the mile
Tim needs to just drop a rap album already

A lot of people who say they hate cops, sure do love police work for them. Gotta love self-reporting.
I’m kinda surprised Tim actually knows the rap game “Bodega on 17th” is my favourite song.

I'm sure they are angels, their mothers say they are good boys that never did anything wrong.

Every rapper makes music about crimes they didn't commit. Thug's problem is that he was actualy about it, and his music wasn't exactly subtle.
