This is a huge video showing off 100 of the best samples used by DJ Premier during the 1990's. There are 10 samples from each year of the 1990's, so 100 samples and 100 tracks making 200 tracks in total. This has really taken a lot of effort to put together so please show your appreciation.
Preemo is not just a DJ...he's a beat engineer, mad scientist, musical savant and jazz enthusiast. He shows so much respect to the original musician's by blessing their instrumentals
He's amazing for sure but that second bit about "him showing so much respect" is not that true, he has so many beats where he has never cleared the samples, can you really call that showing respect?
Yessir! Anyone that got a DJ Premier beat, that was their best only or greatest song in their respective careers. I can’t name one that did better without him!!
What amazes me is how phat the samples sound, he eq's and compresses them until they sound so different. Also he manages to get rid of unwanted sounds like beats and vocals. Pure genius.
He’s so amazing. The trick is with a lot of these old tracks is how the stereo mix is set. If you play just the left channel or just the right channel it often completely removes part of the sound and just leaves the music without the drums etc
@@DJFurio yeah I've tried doing that, but my samples don't sound like his do. You would think that after almost 30 years of doing it I might be better at it by now. Lol. Keep putting out the vids Furio, they are awesome.
Only Us Old Folks Can Appreciate... 😂🤣 Alot of those Records Samples Would Be So Hard To Find back then.. This Digital Age Of Information is Incredibly helpful.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s easy now with Spotify and UA-cam. I still love digging through records in second hand record shops or charity shops to find obscure or classic records. Still a lot of things that aren’t available on streaming.
What Premo An Other DJs / Producers Did Seemed To be A Secret back Then.. You Can Bring Back What Seems Now To be a Lost Art.. Turn that Trash Into a Treasure.. 🤣👍🏿
just my 2 cents here, early to mid 90’s, the sound was still creative, but still coming out the late 80’s. around 96 or so, that’s signature Premo right there. this was when you really had to dig deep and be like, how he do that!
I'm desperately looking for the title of a hip hop song with a sample of Morricone's A Fistful of Dollars, the whistling part, from the 80s or 90s... any suggestions?🙏🙏
Great video, but my man Michael Legrand sounds a lot like Billy Danze at 22:27. Also 24:54. Surprised Unbelievable didn't make it, but I guess you could make a 20 incredible Preemo beats/songs from 94 alone.
I knew I shouldn’t have rushed uploading this late at night without giving it a proper check through. Unbelievable is a great track but no clue on the main sample.
Can somebody explain what's so genuis about reusing an old tune I think the one who deserves the credit is the one who create the tune in the first place . Respect
Depends how the sample is used. You can see that DJ Premier usually finds the most obscure part of a track that most people wouldn’t even think of using. He also chops up his samples and completely rearranges them to make something completely different from the original. He is considered one of the best hip hop producers of all time.
Ever Took A Classic Car An Modified It... Made It Look 10 Times Better An Faster.. Well It's the Same Thing Here.. The Muisc Industry is Set Up in a way that these Old Artist get paid For Their Sampled Music. 👍🏿

Preemo's production is pure genius
That’s why he’s top of my list for producers
He’s got that old school boom bap sound down to a science
THAT IS THE REASON WHY DJ PREMIER IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PRODUCERS IN HIP HOP HISTORY.
Love seeing the Funky Technician on here, my favorite album
Got to meet Finesse and he signed my record. Nice guy
Appreciate you for compiling these classics.
damn 1994 was a good year for premier
It was one of his best
Listening to this and fighting back nostalgic tears of joy. I don't know what direction "rap" is going but I hope it takes a seriously creative turn.
Sorry but it won’t,,,the great era is long gone
Hands down. My fav producer of all time 😎✊🏿😀
Yeah he’s so good
Sheeeesssh. Very strong argument for the best producer ever 💎
It’s really just a matter of finding out who's #2 and how far away they are from Preemo's level lol
Always a good discussion point. I rate Preemo number 1 as he’s still producing amazing tracks after all these years.
Thank You So Much!!! How DJ Premier and the other great producers flip these samples is why and how I fell in love with Hip-Hop!!! Excellent Job!!!
Thanks for watching
When I heard that code of the street sample my heart bursted. I heard the Nas represent sample my brain bursted.
Preemo is Top 3 if not THEE BEST EVER
Such a great producer. Thanks for watching.
Appreciate your work Furio. Great video

Does anyone else feel like you took a Xanax just listening to DJ Premiere instrumentals

Premo is the GOAT behind the tables I swear
Preemo and RZA had the 90s on lock.
2 amazing producers. I’ve made a couple of RZA sample videos on my channel too.
I didn't discover nuttin' new today but still love how you've done it. Big Up !

Yeah definitely. Apart from early Gang Starr work. Step In The Arena album was heavy digging on the samples.
Preemo is the Quincy Jones of hip hop. Nobody else even comes close. I said it.
The GOD of all producers. Chop game is nutz B! One.
