@@bobflyman Yep mate. The drought has certainly broken down in the South and East of Oz. Not up here of course though it's been an excellent year for the local cow-cockies with plenty of grass now when things are usually brown. I've been meaning to have a search as to just where all that water down South has reached. With the very shallow fall from Queensland to South Australia it can take weeks/months for floods to dissipate. Fresh produce will be expensive in the local grub store for quite a while! Still a better prospect than when I did a run out around the Dinosaur Country (Winton, Longreach, Hughenden) a few years back. The stock were eating the only thing left - rocks! 😞 Looking forward to seeing some more flights of your LIDL Squadron. Love our twins and had a good day yesterday with mine doing streamer battle with 4 other Flying Fishes etc.
This looks very promising. We have them in Kmart for $ 10.. The Spitfire was beautiful. One of the most memorable planes I got to see when I was a kid was a Vulcan bomber with an Olympus engine bolted underneath. It was done as a demonstration of Concordes motor's. Farnborough Air Show.
I was there at Farnborough for that too! Saw the Vulcan with Concorde engine! I'm 76, I guess I was about 16 then. Went to the Farnborough air show a couple of times. What an amazing coincidence! And yes, those cheap gliders are great for messing about with. That one flies well.
@bobflyman Hi, I must have been 5 or 6 at the time . A couple of years ago, my brother in law had the opportunity to fly to the UK with the RAAF as guest fire and rescue for the air show. Just thought I ask, do you know the story about Harvey House . We came back in 1979 booked in, and then went to Queens mead for something to eat. We met someone and they told us not to stay there .
Don't know Harvey house or Queens mead I'm afraid! After the Hunter crash on the A27 near Southampton 2015 that killed several people, they tightened up on displays. Shows are nowhere near as good as they used to be. The pilot was pulling a loop with that vintage jet, but didn't have enough height. He ejected but the plane went into the nearby highway. @chuckmaddison2924 😧

Will be easier to fly if you leave the dihedral in, and really I'd say if it's a first plane just build with the main wing and tail as supplied. Inboard ailerons are fine and a little BR1806 motor. No need for carbon in wings. If you keep it light they bounce in a crash! 😉 Good luck!
I hollow out the fusilage right into the wing with a hot wire so that the battery is right back close to the CoG. If it is in the nose it's too mauch weight iin front. Hello! May I ask you some questions. Do you use an inrunner brushless or an outrunner brushless motor. I am currently trying to design my second Lidl flier. Unfortunately, the nose of the plane has become so narrow from the manufacturer that I can no longer get an outrunner in it. So I have two options: 1. to use an inrunner, or to widen and lengthen the nose. Not an easy construction, because the center of gravity changes naturally. Would you please give me a tip if you use an inrunner or an outrunner.

I guess with a big enough motor no reason why it shouldn't work, though I've never done any towing or had a model towed!
