Thanks Teoh :) I got it a couple of weeks ago; I like that this is one of the three FPs that can be securily eye-dropped, as stated by Brian at Goulet Pens.
As long as there are no metal parts inside the pen that will react with ink and no openings or holes in the pen barrel, then you can use it with an eyedropper (pipette) or a syringe to fill the pen barrel itself. That way it holds more ink than using a cartridge or a converter. It's also fun to fill it with ink colors you mix ( that combines well and will not react with each other). You might want to use silicone grease on the threads and/or an O ring to prevent ink leaking :D
I cannot wait For Mine to Arrive! I bought fine nib. However, I am confused, didn't your pen come with converter? As far as I know, those include converter. Or might be I misunderstood you.
+Teoh Yi Chie hi :) thanks for the reply. Mine included the convertor and ink cartridge. Excellent pen D: And apparently my hands lot bigger than they actually are because can use it unposted. Anyway, great review, pen is exactly what you said, and even better ^^
How easily does the clear plastic scratch or crack? I've owned a twsbi and cracks appeared within days. In my mind pilot should offer better materials. Any insight?
Kaweco is an even shorter pen. I like the shape of this Pilot pen before. It's a very standard fountain pen shape. Kaweco with its cap on the back feels bulky. Small and bulky if it makes any sense. I've a review for the Kaweco at ua-cam.com/video/N1iSG3oST6k/v-deo.html
Hello Mr Teoh Yi Chie. I have small question. Is it ok for me to use tap water at fountain pen for cleaning? Or must I use pure (distiled) water? thx so much!!!!!!!
Thanks Teoh... Do you think the Prera could be used as a dropper pen with a little silicone grease on the threads? It would hold a lot more ink (and look a lot cooler).
Pilot Metropolitan looks like a normal size fountain pen to me. It's just a different body design. Nib performance should be identical unless it is using some specialty nib.
Thanks. Currently my favourites are the Pelikan M200 and the Sailor fountain pens with specialty nibs. Maybe I'll create a video on my favourite fountain pens in the future.
Beware of twsbi plastics. There are way too many reports of cracking. 2 of 4 of mine cracked. 1 cracked on the 2nd filling, another rolled off a 1" textbook and the cap broke. The only Twsbi that doesn't crack is the Eco as it uses a different plastic.
Armaan Jaiswal yes it is, but due to production tollerances the feed could fit different because it is not tested on that pen. I have both and have just swapped the nibs to use the pilot's on the prera.
Cracking little pen for drawing, very smooth and as you say "no surprises" with Pilot :-) If I had to choose between this and the TWSBI Eco (Clear) I would buy the Eco, it's a piston filler and her in the UK the prices are around the same. Great review as always, thanks. Just a final thought, that white inner cap aesthetically spoils what should be a beautiful pen! I wonder if it could be removed?
Your reviews are always on point and I love watching you draw.
Thank you, Teoh, for helping me decide if I should buy the Pilot Prera! It looks like a winner to me.
I really like this little fountain pen. I carry small purses and travel art kits and it’s a very nice addition to my collection/tools. Thanks Teoh!
Thank you for a great review of a very nice pen. I enjoy your reviews because you do a great job in description.
+Steven Trosiek Thanks 😁
Thanks Teoh :)

+Mamen Afrikia What is eye-dropped?

Oh, Sorry Teoh; I remember I answered your question but I can't see it here right now !¿?
I cannot wait

Mine to Arrive! I bought fine nib.

+SakumaRyuichiNG I cannot remember if it came with the convertor. It uses the Pilot Con-50
+Teoh Yi Chie hi :) thanks for the reply. Mine included the convertor and ink cartridge. Excellent pen D:

Anyway, great review, pen is exactly what you said, and even better ^^
How is writing experience compared with pilot metropolitan? Is it more smoother?
Quite a nice, informative review. Well done. Thank you.
Also available in a CM [cursive medium] nib. I have two of them and love them. Thanks.
I did not know about that. Thanks

+MooInShades It will scratch. All my transparent fountain pens scratch.
Teoh Yi Chie thank you
Prera or Loom which one writes better ?? Please guide
Nice quality video as always, how would you say it compares with the kaweco sport fountain pen?
Kaweco is an even shorter pen. I like the shape of this Pilot pen before. It's a very standard fountain pen shape. Kaweco with its cap on the back feels bulky. Small and bulky if it makes any sense. I've a review for the Kaweco at ua-cam.com/video/N1iSG3oST6k/v-deo.html
Hello Mr Teoh Yi Chie. I have small question. Is it ok for me to use tap water at fountain pen for cleaning? Or must I use pure (distiled) water? thx so much!!!!!!!
+Veyes Jorge It is alright to use tap water. I have used that for close to a decade.
This is random, but how long have you had your Sakura koi watercolor? And can you fit half pans on the side where the sponges are at? :)
You can't fit standard watercolor half pans. To reuse the box, you may have to dig up the colours you don't want.
Thanks Teoh... Do you think the Prera could be used as a dropper pen with a little silicone grease on the threads? It would hold a lot more ink (and look a lot cooler).
I read somewhere that it can be done. Not sure how durable it will be though. I'm afraid of ink leaking.
Teoh Yi Chie - I'm going to buy one give it a try. Thanks
I've done it. No leaks so far 2 months in.
That's great ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪
Jason Tay -- Thanks
Would you recommend "Pilot" for Beginners?
+Teoh Yi Chie Thanks for the info. These videos and replies have been Great.
Coal Ninja Pilot's Kakuno is a great starter pen and very inexpensive :)
Great review! You’re awesome!
Thanks 😁
Do you think there would be much difference between the Prera and, say, the Metropolitan?
Pilot Metropolitan looks like a normal size fountain pen to me. It's just a different body design. Nib performance should be identical unless it is using some specialty nib.
Hi Teoh! Please draw next different significant places in different countries! That would be so cool 🙌🏻😄
Thanks for the idea :-)
The prera is not useful unless the cap is on the end. It makes me question it.
Kept getting out of control until i personalised my nib. Way too slippy
What are some of your favourite fountain pens?also you make very nice videos.
Thanks. Currently my favourites are the Pelikan M200 and the Sailor fountain pens with specialty nibs. Maybe I'll create a video on my favourite fountain pens in the future.
Merry Christmas 🎄
+Teresa Clymer-Flora Merry Christmas to you too 🎆
Hi, how would you compare the pilot prera to the twsbi mini?
emmie lyn twsbi manufacturing is sub par
Beware of twsbi plastics. There are way too many reports of cracking. 2 of 4 of mine cracked. 1 cracked on the 2nd filling, another rolled off a 1" textbook and the cap broke. The only Twsbi that doesn't crack is the Eco as it uses a different plastic.
You're very helpful. Thank you!!!
Is the nib and feed of this pen compatible with the pilot metropolitan
+Armaan Jaiswal I'm not sure. I no longer have the Pilot Metropolitan
Armaan Jaiswal yes it is, but due to production tollerances the feed could fit different because it is not tested on that pen. I have both and have just swapped the nibs to use the pilot's on the prera.
Is platinum preppy nib 02 a good pen for outlining ?
+Urmimala nath I'm not sure of their numbering system. The Preppy 03 I have does not seem thick enough. Depends on how thick you want the lines to be.
Teoh Yi Chie oh ok... thanks!

Goulet Pens showed how to remove the liner - it was on his "how to clean" video
Which ink used ?
Can't remember. Either SketchINK or Noodler's Bulletproof Black
@@teohyc thank you
The con 40 converter also fits.
Thanks for the info :-)
Interesting. ☺️
this pen sucks
