Good review and perfect comparison for me as I have used the s300 for a few years. So I now charge the s300 with the usb-c pd in the van now. They had a quirk where it charged faster with usb than the charger provided. Can the R600 charge via usb-c ports? I like that this chargers faster but I plan to permanently keep it in the Van charging via USB without 12v and when the engines on if I can. Battery will be running a thermal printer and cctv/wifi router 24/7. Issue with s300 is there’s only one usb-c port which is being used to charge it.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, unlike the S300, the R600 USB-C ports aren't bidirectional - well they aren't on mine. So you can't use them to charge the unit. That's a shame, but it has to be said that having it's own internal supply, that charges it really fast is extremely convenient. You don't have to go searching for a separate power brick, you just plug in any old IEC mains outlet cable in the wall socket and away you go. Even if you forget to pack one when you're out and about, they are everywhere.
Thanks for that Whirly Bloke. I have a similar powerstation that a good friend gave me as a birthday present. I'm actually surprised at how much I use it. It will even jump a vehicle if needed! It's super convenient. I can charge it up from vehicle power while I'm driving to a location so I'm essentially converting gasoline to electricity, then I charge my drone batteries from the powerstation so I don't need to have my vehicle running while I'm charging the drone, goggles, radio, laptop, phone etc. Then I charge the powerstation again from the vehicle while I'm driving home. Brilliant. I don't think mine is quite as good spec as the one you reviewed here but it works GREAT for my needs and was only about $100. The point is these things are fantastic for hobbyists and professionals of all stripe. Thanks for the great review. Happy flying amigo. 🫡 🍻
