Seeing him being the oldest brother and pushing his younger brothers to excel in school, keep a tidy home, and keep the memory of their dead parents alive while trying his best to be as caring and nurturing as possible touched something very deep and vulnerable for me. Jamie would of if he was the main character, however that role was taken by sully and dushane, yes hypothetically he is definitely smart enough to find a way around it and take them both out however they needed his downfall to happen, I’m gonna get into season 3 spoilers in the next comment explaining why it had to happen
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 TOPBOY DONT READ IF U DONT WAN TTO GET SPOILED the reason jamie had to die was because he was dushanes retirement plan, dushane wanted to leave the street life however still gain funding from the streets but Jamie dying completely ruined that, with that out the way in season 3 he tried to find another means to leaving, promising to investing 2.1 million into Shelley’s chain however that goes to shit when his funds all disappear and eventually it led to his downfall, Jamie had to die in order for the downfall for the rest of the characters to also have a downfall, eventually the main cast is all killed off by the end of the show, Jamie was never a main character, that was sully and dushane shown by how dushane was given the exact situation jamie was in and instead of killing his right hand man he killed off the people who ordered the hits, Jamie couldn’t do this since the people he was going against wasn’t a antagonist but the main character, leading him to killing his bestfriend
Jaime was Summer Houses nightmare…. The only option was to kill him. The Character was well written and the actor did a amazing job. Jaime was all the things that made Sully and Dushane Top Boy combined in him. Calculating and smart like Dushane with the win at all costs mentality all he could see is being Top Boy like Dushane. Ruthless and stuck to the code like Sully while also being a protector to the people he loved his family. Same as Sully and Jason. Great character Great show
for me jamies story was the best on the entire show it hit home money and the love for family makes people go to lengths they didnt know capable as someone with a similar past to the story of jamie i can say it starts as providing for the ones you love and tryin to build a better life but when u fall to deep into the lifestyle it becomes dangerous you become dangerous and the ones you care for eventully get hurt ill foreverbe lookin over my shoulder as i got out but ill always have people after me seeing jamie get popped made me cry as at any time it could be me and i couldnt imagine the pain my bros would be in or anyone this shit is real and his story was done and written amazingly
I think Stef is gonna be the one who kills Sully, the last season was a foreshadow of what was to come. Also when you look at that scene it was almost like Sully wanted Stefs brothers to see who killed him, he could have gone in there masked up. I definitely think the next season is gonna be crazy, as Sully will have guns pointing at him from all sides. Dushane, Stef and Curtis' family are all lurking
@@painkillerkhalil Sully killed Jamie despite Dushane having a conversation with him stating that Jamie may be their way out of the street life. Jamie was the best thing that happened to the top boy franchise. You still have sully but damn, idk where they're gonna go with the show now Edit: Fam, that scene where Jamie gave buddy the bullet he could have killed him with, as a souvenir, was gangsta af
Jamie was such a beautifully written character. S2 of new top boy ruined a lot of characters and he was one of them. It's a shame because the Morocco subplot at the start of the season was great as Jamie learnt new things and found the beauty in hustling (from those kids at the beach).
I was aware of Jamie’s mindset and his motives, but you brilliantly analysed this character. For anyone who didn’t see Jamie so deeply, they can now. Well done 😁✌🏾❤️🇬🇧
the reason why i liked jamie so much is because of his love for his brother. in a lot of crime series' families arent close and that is ok depending on the movie. but in topboy it was good how they made jamie given the context
Good video man. Gang life to Jamie was just a job that provided everything quick and fast, I'm sure he didn't want to do bad things but he needed to get his job done in order to support his family. Watching a lot of films and series like this we learn that it's just not possible to have 2 separate lives as they will eventually collide and cause disruption to one another. The writing for Jamie was tight, an anti-hero that you was secretly routing for along the way despite the bad things that he done because his goal was something that most viewers could relate to.

Jamie was simply an intelligent kid forced into a situation where he had to do whatever necessary to look after himself and his brothers “Monsters or food.” He understood the pitfalls and what it took to be “Top Boy.” His weakness was ironically his strength, his family and the normality he ensured they had in their home. Everyone knew where they lived, so he was easy to touch!
Watched and enjoyed every minute of the 33 minutes... Storytelling on top, also love the way you can put everything down to look at the entire story, must have spent hella time on this, well done
Jaime was the only murderer who kept his sanity. Every other main character in the show lost themselves fully while he always kept his head on until the end which makes me think he had to be killed by sully to not change that about his character. That’s why I truly believe that he was heartless towards the end because of the suffering he went through within the battles in his mind.
I've always said that Jamie was 2 different ppl. His street side was ruthless but he had a sweet and kind heart as a family man. He was even kind to that kid he met in Spain (I think it was Spain) but anyway, he gave up his watch so that the boy could be reunited with his sister.
Killing off Jamie was the worst for me. I lost interest in following Top Boy after that, because he would have been a great competitor for Dushane. He was compelling and believable.
Jamie was a really well written character because he was an antagonist that you can root for which is rarely the case in movies/ shows about gangs. I’d say Sully is the same too and Michael Ward and Kano are by far the two best actors on the show. Actually if I had any complaints about Top Boy it’s that Dushane is a bit of a boring character in comparison which is annoying since he’s the main character and for that reason I hope Sully kills him in the new season but I know that won’t happen
Sully is the best character there(he had one of the greatest redemption arc).one of the things that makes dushane boring is the fact he's not very well acted..
@@zero1188 when he took care of jason, reconected with his daughter, left the game then came back to help peebles, he was a different man until jason died..he even blamed dushane for using a innocent kid to beat jamie..
The thing about top boy that is so clever, is that Dushane and particularly Sully are NOT the good guys. If you actually think about how many lives get ruined throughout the show as a result of them it is insane. The final season could be epic, but it is such a shame that Jamie has been killed off as he was an incredible character and brilliantly written
I still can’t believe they killed off Jaimie man, this whole video was the thoughts in my head of why I loved him as a character, everything he done was pretty much for his brothers

only was to run or to try and kill dushane and sully. He couldn't have done either as both would've ruined life as he knows it for him and his brothers... Above all things Jamie is truly selfless and can't bear the fact that he would've ruined the civilian lives of his brothers
Jamie would of if he was the main character, however that role was taken by sully and dushane, yes hypothetically he is definitely smart enough to find a way around it and take them both out however they needed his downfall to happen, I’m gonna get into season 3 spoilers in the next comment explaining why it had to happen
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 TOPBOY DONT READ IF U DONT WAN TTO GET SPOILED
the reason jamie had to die was because he was dushanes retirement plan, dushane wanted to leave the street life however still gain funding from the streets but Jamie dying completely ruined that, with that out the way in season 3 he tried to find another means to leaving, promising to investing 2.1 million into Shelley’s chain however that goes to shit when his funds all disappear and eventually it led to his downfall, Jamie had to die in order for the downfall for the rest of the characters to also have a downfall, eventually the main cast is all killed off by the end of the show, Jamie was never a main character, that was sully and dushane shown by how dushane was given the exact situation jamie was in and instead of killing his right hand man he killed off the people who ordered the hits, Jamie couldn’t do this since the people he was going against wasn’t a antagonist but the main character, leading him to killing his bestfriend
Jamie is the definition of duality.
Man they couldn’t have picked a better person to play the character of Jamie. Congrats Michael ward 👏🏻👏🏻
Great character Great show
This was my assessment of Jaime as well.....
Similar how Carlos Alcaraz is a combination of Federer, Nadal & Djokovic;
*THE FORMER BIG 3 OF TENNIS!*
😢
for me jamies story was the best on the entire show it hit home money and the love for family makes people go to lengths they didnt know capable as someone with a similar past to the story of jamie i can say it starts as providing for the ones you love and tryin to build a better life but when u fall to deep into the lifestyle it becomes dangerous you become dangerous and the ones you care for eventully get hurt ill foreverbe lookin over my shoulder as i got out but ill always have people after me seeing jamie get popped made me cry as at any time it could be me and i couldnt imagine the pain my bros would be in or anyone this shit is real and his story was done and written amazingly
Fantastic work, this type of editing/storytelling belongs on Netflix!
What happened to Jamie broke my heart. Brilliant storytelling.
Dushane, Stef and Curtis' family are all lurking
i don't think sully is going to die
wait, but why would dushane want to kill sully tho?
@@painkillerkhalil Sully killed Jamie despite Dushane having a conversation with him stating that Jamie may be their way out of the street life. Also Jamie just proved his loyalty to Dushane by killing Kit so from his perspective Sully just killed a trustworthy asset for no other reason but to spite him, they already had a weakened relationship so this betrayal from Sully that has ruined Dushane plans once again may push him over the edge this time. Long explanation my bad lol
@@danigrande5451sully definitely gonna die brother
@@marvinboakye8469tbh him killing his best friend showed sully he ain’t loyal to begin with which is why sully killed him. Sully knows sooner or later they’ll be next
Bro get this guy to a mil. This man broke down Jamie's character so well, analysing it as good, if not better than my English Teachers if they had the chance to 🤣😂😂
Jamie was my favorite character!! Glad you made this video
The last point you made that real criminals will never have the chance for their whole story to be dissected like this is soooooooo TRUE. Perfect ending. This shows is my #1 its really humanizes so many stories.
I liked Jamie man. He was kinda evil but the way he was killed pissed me off for one cuz it ended like that but at the same time it was kinda deserved and he was just a good big brother
mans got smoked
the story telling, editing and qualityy videos is craaazy get this man s award
🙏🏼❤️
Jamie was definitely my fav character. I understood why Sully did it but I was also flabbergasted. I was shocked but knowing that the series is ending, it made sense I guess.
Also his sympathy for ats murder shows he was a kind hearted person
bro this production, storytelling and analysis from beginning to end is unbelievable. incredible video
Jamie was the best thing that happened to the top boy franchise. You still have sully but damn, idk where they're gonna go with the show now
Edit: Fam, that scene where Jamie gave buddy the bullet he could have killed him with, as a souvenir, was gangsta af
Jamie was such a beautifully written character. S2 of new top boy ruined a lot of characters and he was one of them. It's a shame because the Morocco subplot at the start of the season was great as Jamie learnt new things and found the beauty in hustling (from those kids at the beach).
Being the eldest of two younger brothers, a discussing with my parents what I were to do if they passed makes this one hit different.
I can’t believe they got rid of Jamie, he was d original dandada Top boy
I was aware of Jamie’s mindset and his motives, but you brilliantly analysed this character. For anyone who didn’t see Jamie so deeply, they can now. Well done 😁✌🏾❤️🇬🇧
the reason why i liked jamie so much is because of his love for his brother. in a lot of crime series' families arent close and that is ok depending on the movie. but in topboy it was good how they made jamie given the context
Jamie h’s a snake and treaty
This is an outstanding piece of analysis. Brilliant
Your breakdown of characters and understanding how their mind works is just how I like my reviews of my favourite shows and characters.
This analysis is hands down the best I’ve come across on UA-cam. 🎯💯
this is an amazing piece of media the story telling the language you use the editing it’s all 10/10
Good video man.
Jamie = 🐍, treaty, snitch
Damn bro, your editing is top tier
Your point on reinventing blew my mind, because it makes so much sense. Also can relate to that point
Hey J Wisdom! I just wanted to drop by and give you a massive shoutout for your incredible content on analyzing the psychological aspects of powerful male figures in movies and TV series. Your intelligence shines through every video, and I'm always amazed by your storytelling abilities. The way you break down these characters is so well put together, and it's clear that you put a lot of thought and research into your analysis. Keep up the fantastic work, my friend! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next. 🌟
If I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm not very good when it comes to expressing myself through words on paper and using grammar and punctuation so this comment I left you above was all thanks to the AI chat. (I hope you respect me for being honest) as you explained in the Alfie Solomon video😉. But in all honesty bro, you have a serious talent bro and I truly say this bro, you deserve 10s of millions of subscribers and billions of views because the messages and teachings and Psychological reasons why humans react the way we do is truly, truly exceptional big bro sorry for the 1000 word essays but you must give credit where credit is due
First Time listener here. This is a very good vid, well researched, well presented and very precise. Visuals are good too!
Subbed.
Great vid man super high quality Need that Franklin psychology part 2 since snowfall ended Much Love 🙏🏼
I’m glad I found this vid, 10/10. Well done for this
Thank you 🙏🏼
The editing is amazing man
Yo how many exams Aaron got left till he’s finished? Man’s been bangin on about exams for ages
Really dope analysis of Jamie. I know eventually you'll do one of Sully. That should be quite interesting. Keep doin' your thing homie. 👍🏾
J, just finished watching your Snowfall breakdown, keep it up bro, the psychological breakdown of these beloved antagonists are beautifully break down. Your giving viewers that aren’t from our environment an in depth look on the mind set we went/go through to make it out through these memorable characters from these shows. Glad u made one on one of my favorite shows. Keep going bruv!
this is so well written, voiced and edited. such an amazing video and if you stick to it you’ll do big things
This is absolutely genuinely exicuted, whoever you are..... You will go far, keep doing what your doing
Appreciate the time and effort you have taken in the motion graphics and the story telling
The Dark psychology of Tommy Shelby would be good because theres so many layers
This is great analysis, this will be the first of may if your vides I will watch. Keep up the good work 👌🏾
Your videos keep getting better and better!!
I've always said that Jamie was 2 different ppl. His street side was ruthless but he had a sweet and kind heart as a family man. He was even kind to that kid he met in Spain (I think it was Spain) but anyway, he gave up his watch so that the boy could be reunited with his sister.
Yep exactly he was very kind hearted
Not Spain,
Morocco
your videos are getting better. Keep up the good work!
Great job, very thorough video with preciseness and accuracy in your dialogue.
i just found you literally 2 days ago & was thinking of you doing one about Jamie
This is so incredibly well made, thanks for putting this together! :)
Killing off Jamie was the worst for me. I lost interest in following Top Boy after that, because he would have been a great competitor for Dushane. He was compelling and believable.
Wether Sully killed him or not, he would've ended up dead. He ain't smart at all
And him dying like that is pretty compelling and believable
On my latest rewatch, I think Sully killing Jamie actually made more sense than I once thought. Sully since summerhouse doesn’t let shit slide.
@@topboy3269 They ruined a lot of the characters last season imo. Jamie saw the worst of it
@@davea3641 They may have ruined characters but doesn't change the fact that Jamie had to die. He was way to snakey
@@afrosamourai400yeah 100% meanwhile Kano deserves award nominations for his performance in this show especially the first Netflix series
Sully did actually kill him😅
where was he redeemded?@@afrosamourai400
@@zero1188 when he took care of jason, reconected with his daughter, left the game then came back to help peebles, he was a different man until jason died..he even blamed dushane for using a innocent kid to beat jamie..
Yes I'm so happy you mentioned Jamie from Top Boy
Beautifully explained! Really informative and interesting! Thank you so much bro ♥️
You do yourself proud my brother, your knowledge and delivery are on point.
That intro was cold af tho
The factor that I’m watching this on my tv and came on my phone just to comment yh bro this is fire 🔥
Only good guys are the undercover feds lol
watching this video helped me get a distinction in my media exam and get into uni.
You’re content is really dope and original. Keep up the great work
Ay this analysis was elite , really had me hooked for the whole video 👍keep it up bro
I still can’t believe they killed off Jaimie man, this whole video was the thoughts in my head of why I loved him as a character, everything he done was pretty much for his brothers
this video is hella good bros def gonna blow up keep up the good work
There’s no “who is the real Jamie”😂 he’s just a cold blooded killer that loves his family
This show had so much potential to be a great but i think it fell short. Especially with how the final season was handled. Jamie was such a good character, shouldve kept him alive anf made a spinoff
All I need is a Jax Teller deep dive from you and my life is complete
