    Thank you Marjet Roling!!! I've been to Istanbul Mehmet factory 6 times and your video is one of the best factory tour videos I found on internet. Very few parts of the whole process missing in your footage.

      how do you get into the factory? Do they have tours or did you arrange a visit personally?

    Just got my 17" Sultan. Thanks Mehmet T and all at Istanbul. My favorite brand of cymbals.

    Wow! i thought the bell indentation was made by machine and then just hand hammered on top. It's good to know that they are actually hand made all throughout! Thanks for the video!

    My cymbals are Mehmet Traditional, I love my 20" ride, and 18" crash.

    Seems like a safe enough place to work. Ya know, like the US auto factories of the 1910s..

    How can they work with that noise, and without earphones?

      After a while you become deaf, no need for earplugs.

      Believe it or not the factory does offer ear plugs. The workers who do not use it chose to do it so!

      The same way we play drums and cymbals very loud without ear protection.

      @@istanbulmehmetbrazil are you sure? a link please of videos with examples of "a2 cymbals"?? I never found them, except Sabian à2 cymbals hmmmm

    • @shonnyno
      @shonnyno 3 роки тому

      @* I simply asked where could I hear the sound of a2 cymbals, a2 means clashed cymbals for band and orchester. how could I buy cymbals with no idea about their sound?? and I unable to image how they may sound, so I asked about a sample (or mp3 sample file), as Sabian one and only is doing. Even UFIP wrote to me "hey come here to hear the cymbals", but I cannot travel 1000 km! but as you said Istanbul does not produce hand cymbals or suspended cymbals for jazz and rock drumset. thanks.

      Because the B20 Bronze has to cool down so they can start working with the blanks.

    I bet they cost like 5 American dollars at the source. Well, time to buy plane ticket to turkey!
