  • @lizzieceltics

    Wow, his mom was such a natural--knocked it out of the park, especially considering this scene was improvised!!!! I honestly did think & feel sorry for her charter exactly wen her son was killed & I probably did soley because of this exact heartwarming scene. I don't have kids yet so maybe that's why I didn't think @ it in a broader sense as he explains, growing up where he did sometimes people "just never came home" & how at the end of the day everybody is somebody's son.

  • @TheGoodfellas1990
    @TheGoodfellas1990 10 років тому +327

    "Yeah, your mom was cooking food for Joe Pesci's character, Bob Deniro, and I think someone else?" Scorsese was very polite to not laugh at him or insult him. You shouldn't possess such ignorance when you are interviewing anybody - let alone a top-notch director about a masterpiece of his.

He is visually shaken by the Billy Batts escalation and murder and the magnitude of wacking a made man. Meanwhile, Tommy and Jimmy are laughing, joking and eating away. Honestly his mom literally stole that scene. However she was with the actors of caliber like Pesci, Deniro and liotta but for me that scene wholley belongs to Mrs. Scorcese.
