Finally a decent song from Germany one can actually vote for! It was by far my favourite from the national selection. Visually arresting. When I listened to one of his interviews, I found out his personality is so interesting and admirable, respectful and humble. Congrats, Germany!

It's not only the shock factor, they are genuinely very very good musicians and they deserve this very much! Also they have an awesome message!
A shock for those not in the scene ;) Which means the majority, I assume. Not a bad thing at all.
That's the great thing about Lord of the lost: They do not pretend. They LOVE to dress up, LOVE to put on makeup and to change and do their own thing no matter what other say. That's just what Lord of the Lost is - and that's just great and admirable.
It's really amusing. We have a lot of bands, why shouldn't we have them?The audience also voted for them. 😂

They are an established band from Hamburg, playing on ever bigger stages since 2009. They are somewhere between dark rock/metal/gothic/glam and been touring with Iron Maiden last year and will do so again this summer ;)
Take a look at their winner's performance, it was much better and the studio didn't fuck up the audio settings so much, then you get more of a taste how they are normally on stage ;)
Happy the people responsible here in Germany finally listened to the people and opened up to something else than radio friendly music. We have such a huge rock and metal community here, sadly everyone except our own country knows that. Think they all underestimated us on Friday and we were able to push Lord of the Lost to number one
They could not not listen, I mean 120000 signatures on the petition for Electric Callboy and the following shitstorm had to have done something. We're finally sending an awesome band!
Lord of the Lost are Nordic group, from North Germany. 👍 Top, top song!!! They are the opening group of Iron Maiden for the upcoming concerts. Big group!

You seem like a genuinely nice person and i really appreciated your respectful reaction, especially since this isn't your favourite kind of music. I've seen them live a couple of times and I love their (stage) personalities and their energy. I also think it's great that you took a deeper look by listening to their interview and official music video. Subscribed to you although I'm not that much into the ESC and going to watch your other reactions :)

Funny that you'd mention Lady Gaga: Lord of the Lost actually did a cover version of "Bad Romance" :D
They also covered her song Judas, which is funny since one of their own albums is called Judas 😂😂
Last year had it had been possible to send Eelctric Callboy wich have been well known worldwide especially if your into rock music, but the NDR wich is responsible for the German contest didn't allo them for the contest, wich is the reason we have been able to not only choose from several ballads/singer/songwriter and a hiphop track, but also two rock bands in this year. And what a suprise the rockband has won. I have told them this would happen and this would have happen to Electric Callboy as well if they would had given the chance to compete in the last year.
Could not care less for Eurovision as a whole, but if this leads to more folks discovering Lord of The Lost , I will happily take it. The band HAS pumped out material for over ten years now. AND being handpicked supporting Iron Maiden on tour, last year (saw them in July) and this year as well... Been following the band for five years myself and Chris Harms is so down to earth.

The current album „Blood and Gliiter“ is a reminiscence to Mick Rock, a photographer of the 70s, who published a book of the same title. Their album is a tribute to the style / music of the 70s and music of the 80s.

Hats off to Germany for sending something totally different this year. I like the song, it deserves to do well but I would have liked to see a tad better lyrics
Very nice reaction video. I love the moment at around 5:50. They are always on point while it never looks like pretending or like hard work. They always have strong messages behind fun and sometimes weird looking styles and videos. I like bands with messages. I think they deserve this and it was a good choice of Germany to send them. They are awsome, respectful and humble musicians.

Lord of the Lost:
Dark rock meets goth meets glam metal meets synths including a perfect mixture of clean and harsh vocals down to growls. They are a rabbit hole with so many different styles and moods.
They recently supported Iron Maiden across Europe and will do so this year again. So they they definitely know how to play a huge stage. They are great musicians and released beside their regular albums three acoustic „Swan Songs“ longplayer with a classic ensemble.
Their newest album „Blood and Glitter“ was surprisingly released end of last year with only one week of preselling and hit #1 of the German album charts.

They're both wild and professional. But I wouldn't say it's like Nordic rock (there are exceptions). This glam clothing and style is different from the typical nordic. We're usually very black/dark in colour and more somber. I also often prefer the nordic sound, which IS different. This from Germany sounds dated, I however respect this band and the singer has a very good voice. Happy for Germany.
LOTL are also mostly dressed darkly. There is a video on YT explaining how they get the red. 😂🤣😂

Unusual choice? Germany is the 3rd largest music market, right after the US and Japan. What is perhaps unusual, however, is the selection made by German fans of the ESC.

Bart... this is an upgrade for Germany, for sure. However, glam rock is always best done when it has a sense of self-parody or irony. I don't feel anything of this from this band, Really they seem to take themselves way too seriously in quite a unique German way. If this finishes on the left hand side of the scoreboard i will be very surprised.
lotl dont take themself serious, but in a very german way i agree, they are so overly serious on stage that everyone should know that they dont mean it, its a very german style of humor, also they are definetly worth checking out more, they have basically 1 sound per record and change a lot in between each record, im more of a fan of the thornstar sound, but they can pull of pretty much anything, they even made a concert with a classical orchester (look up gothic meets classic lord of the lost)
thornstar is more metal
judas seems close to church music in some parts
empyrean is very electronic
swan songs 1-3 is accoustic, very nice songs and they even give completly accoustic concerts
also schwarz tod gold is a cooperation with swiss und die anderen, a hip hop group, its a very political piece with subtitles for a lot of languages
Lady Gaga? Since when is Lady Gaga growling? She can only scream in a annoying quieky Voice. For Metal Fans it sounds poppy maybe but it good.
