Excellent video, had to try this in my larger microwave kiln (5” inside diameter). It works, but you have tweak the “nuking time” to get it to work okay, then do not open the kiln for at least two hours. This way the heat can soak into the glass. The small kiln heats up too fast, and the glass could and will crack. My microwave has only 700 watts power of power.

Hello love your work, can you please tell me again the name of the Aloe gel you used? Do we have to wait for that to dry before firing?
I always recommend generic aloe (house brands) because once I tried Banana Boat brand and got a residue. I buy mine at Target; they call their house brand “Up & UP”. No it doesn't need to dry. If you have any problems, just use an adhesive that's made for glass fusing; there are many out there. No magic to aloe … Good luck; have fun --

+Janet Tilley Thank you for the kind remarks ... your encouragement is my fuel! Yes, the sharpie marks burned away and in my experience always do ... but I usually clean them off -- just in case. : )
I've had the odd 'shadow' left by Sharpie marks, but not on every glass and usually only on art glass, not made-for-fusing glass.

Just from watching other artists 'glass' videos, it occurred to me that you may get some 'definition' back, by a very slight grind & then high polish, just a suggestion :)

I just acquired an older kiln, Paragon A-88, is it possible to get good results without the ability to program the firing?
Yes it absolutely is ... It is just a lot more work, because you have to monitor and continually adjust the measured changes in internal temperature, to at least mimic the firing schedule. But it gets easier as you come to know your kiln and what to expect from it, and learn when to risk and when to be conservative in your firing. Good luck; have fun --

The company has many different ones. It's called Morton glass tools you can Google it and find their site plus many many suppliers

can you do this so it will have a curve to it .
Easy to curve it in a second firing, over or into a simple ceramic mold. Called a "slump".

I doubt she was the first to overlap different colors of glass and put it into a kiln. This style has probably been around for a long time. It's such a simple basic style that anyone could come up with.
Hey these were also my thoughts, after reading your reply to Jeffrey Andrews, I think it would help if you said you’d used her design with her permission in the description maybe, otherwise it really just sound like you openly show how to copy some random living artist’s design
This technique has been used in stained glass pieces and mosaics without fusing for at least 4500 years ;)
