Hi Lena😊 quick question, I haves tons of mica powder from my resin days, can I use this mica? Are they all pretty much the same? Thank you for your time and sharing your awesome talent 😊
Hi Lena, thank you for this video and all your generosity sharing your learnings and knowledge. I just wonder if you could show us an image of the back of the piece to see how it looked. Thank you 🙏
Yes, I know. But, I like to test things by myself. Also, I live in Sweden and Dennis is in the US. So for once, I didn´t have to buy something imported from North America, lol. I also wanted to show that weak colored micas aren´t worthless, I don´t like when too big areas are too glossy/shiny, like a whole dichroic plate. We are all different
BTW, most of the 59 micas in my pack was okay and survived the temperature test. I also bought many cosmetic micas from the UK some years ago, tested about a hundred, which many worked. So, I haven´t any lack of colors
Lena, so pretty! I always love watching your videos! I was worried about the adventurine green because I thought it would cover up your gorgeous colors underneath. The bronze really made it pop! Fun colors too, please keep the videos coming! Thanks again for sharing :-)
Hi Lena, thanks so much for sharing your work! Would you please explain why you used a white powder and water mixture rather than just sifting a thick layer of powder over the top? Thank you :)
do you have suggestions/experience as to what other mediums can be used to suspend the mica? aloe vera gel? glasstac? other medium used for glass enamels?
The back was too rough, the white stuff is white powder and water. It is not meant to be visible. The only reason I used it is to get a smoother back. Watch the video again, I think I explain this. Thank you
@@glynesmewton7033 um....it was a question. Where would ‘please’ be correct to use? It was a simple question. This question was not critical in any shape or format. As I am quite new to glass working, I am trying to learn as much as possible. Therefore, “please” stop assuming everyone is anticipating the worst of society. “Please” use a box when you climb down from that high horse you are sitting on before you get a nose bleed
So cool. Every time I see something new i want to try it. I need a bigger space. Very beautiful.

Thank you. It is still rough. I am sorry there is not an option to post pictures on UA-cam
Dennis of Glass Campus has beautiful color micas that have been tested. They keep their color after being fired!!

Thank you, that is very fun. I have your batik book.
Hope you like it!
Yes, whit powder mix? A bit vague. Was that white frit? Baking Soda? Acid? What
Love this!
Hi Lena, thanks so much for sharing your work! Would you please explain why you used a white powder and water mixture rather than just sifting a thick layer of powder over the top?
Thank you :)
Thank you, I did so because the back was really rough so I needed aa heavy layer of powder to cover it.
It would be possible to sift powder, but it was much faster to use a mix
What brand of mica powder do you use. I have tried different type and some nit compatible with firing. Thank you

your piece is gorgeous, I will try this!
thanks for sharing
Wonderful video Lena, thanks. One question, the clear scrap glass you put on top. Did you just wait until the mica set and held the clear in place?
Thank you, do you mean when I painted the bronze mica? No, I didn´t, just painted carefully with a soft brush
@@lenabeckeus6322 yes when you were painting the bronze on. Wow, I thought the scrap pieces would start moving all over the place. Thanks
Denise Presland Not if you are careful
I'm not sure about that, 2nd one. The colours didn't come through. What was that white stuff that you put on.

what was your firing schedule?
Do you make your own frit powder
No, I do not
What is white powder?
I is Bullseye white glass powder
Elizabeth, You could use the word ‘please’

Wish you would instruct verbally also. I don't watch videos without that.
I liked it before you added the green.
How rude! You never say what was in the powder mix.
I DID, water-white powder mix (16:02)
Pjdegroot, I think it’s you that s rude!
