A feuding fairy King and Queen of the forest cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors trying to rehearse a play. As their dispute grows, the magical royal couple meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles, mistaken identities and transformations… with hilarious, but dark consequences.
Shakespeare’s most famous romantic comedy will be captured live from the Bridge Theatre in London. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Oliver Chris (Green Wing, NT Live: Young Marx), David Moorst (NT Live: Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Barber Shop Chronicles) lead the cast as Titania, Oberon, Puck and Bottom.
Directed by Nicholas Hytner, this production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will built on the success of his immersive staging of Julius Caesar (NT Live 2018). The Bridge Theatre became a forest - a dream world of flying fairies, contagious fogs and moonlight revels, surrounded by a roving audience following the action on foot.

edit 09/02/24 you still aren't alone, i didn't want any of this but i just want you to live the best life possible, it looks like you're more courageous emotionally though and i'm thankful for that
i still don't get how people could be trying to make you lose who you were and you wouldn't want help...like I know you can do it on your own in theory but I didn't know if you were aware of it at all bc you never told me until june

i can't face you suffering forever in a way that you can't be yourself with other people. and i thought i was the only one who actively wanted you to be yourself, so i tried for you because i cared. and i thought me helping you in this way wasn't seen as controlling you because we started wanting to help each other and bonded so hard over who we are.
I just feel I have to try here because this is wrong. If I manipulated you at any point, I need you to tell me how because that's the last thing I wanted to do; I told you to not let people get in your head, not let them have what they want against you, and not for anything lose who you are. I kept going with it because I wanted you to remember why we cared, and you never quite told me that things were ok after I started panicking, so how could I know any of this?! I don't want anyone to control you, and if you got it, then don't go and 'tell me and never respond again'! We could talk it out and I wouldn't say another word if you truly had it.
So I think you do, I want to trust you do. But why does this mean we have to end our friendship? I'm healthy, I'm not obsessed but caring to no end makes it look that way because of all the pressure, it's not toxic for me, and if you don't trust me then all I ask is one conversation and after that at least you'll know.
But I understand it's toxic for you. The people in your life made our friendship painful, which in turn made their relationships with you painful, and I didn't want this to happen but I care, I don't want you to lose another person in life, and you deserve to be surrounded only by people who genuinely care about who you are, and don't take something from you!
I don't want anything from you except you to be you and to have a wonderful friendship with you about it, and if you can't have that, then wouldn't you want to help make it better? Because I still do.
