I was 7 yrs old in 1954, and I did not answer them all correctly. My mom was a homemaker, and her life was not all ease and joy. She prepared breakfast for my dad, brother and I; got my dad off to work and my brother and I off to school. She spent the rest of the day cleaning, washing dishes, preparing meals, shopping, washing clothes and hanging them outside to dry. She then had to be prepared for my brother and I when we returned home from school--helping us with our homework. She spent the evening cleaning the kitchen, before she got time to watch a little TV before going to bed in order to be prepared for the routine of the next day. It was on the weekends she got to experience some "ease & joy".

Women then always brushed their hair day and night which got rid of surface debris, and cleansed their tools often, so every 1-2 weeks was fine. Their hair wasn't as oily too because of infrequent washing and equal establishment of sebum through brushing, so oily hair wasn't much of an issue. I usually wash my hair once a week, but I'd like to try their method at some point!

WOW! Thank you! I did not know that. I've heard other people say once a week as well, because they can set their hair once and it will last all week. I'm sitting here realizing I washed my hair 2 days ago and I'm feeling the need to wash it. 😳

the reason why you had to pick up with your left and wash with your right was because when you were doing this you did not knock your china dishes around and ding up the edges or Your Glass glasses there were very few actual Plastics that

THAT IS A BRILLIANT REASON! That makes a lot of sense....I grew up in the dish washer era + though my grandmother has nice china, I don't believe we ever used it...so even when I was washing dishes by hand it wasn't even a thought! Thank you for teaching me why!

What was allowable at the time consequences of not measuring up to all who graduated from home economics classes? Like while trying to bring up your young children in one of those old homes built for all men head of their households while working on military bases around the world.

and I know I made three stabs at this LOL but the reason I know this for sure is you also didn't reach down in the water after you broke the dish and cut your hand open believe me experience speaks

Enjoyed the quiz. Loved the video! A couple of the question/answers are no longer true (same tasting spoon, types of service etc.) but many are still useful. Am I the only one that had to picture sitting and standing while having my seat held for me to get the answer to that question?

I got 10 out of 19 correct, so I would have passed, but barely. I think I have that home ec textbook; I guess I should read it. :D

I got 11 right. But mostly because I learned some answers from you. ;) Otherwise I would have gotten 6 right.

I got 11 correct, but some of the correct answers are completely rediculous (washing your hair every 2 weeks!). The questions could be much more difficult, there are millions of things you could ask about home economics.

Did this before watching, got 8/19. Which apparently is just barely passing.

I....would fail. Haha! I've been watching your videos for the past few weeks and I really like them! I'm working on my one vintage lifestyle. I'm a seamstress, so I made a few sewing-related vintage videos. If you could give them a watch for me and offer any feedback, it would mean a lot to me. :D
