Yeah and I bet every powerful robot that he create always don't obeying him. I can't think of one that actually can win against Megaman obey Dr. Willy order of "Destroy Megaman". They only want to fight, destroy everything and Megaman always get in the way.
Actually, Zero always disobeyed Wily, even during his psycho maverick state before Sigma knocked him out. He would essentially kill anything on sight, be it friend or foe, and just laugh it off.
Yeah, but if Zero didn't exist the Maverick Virus wouldn't have spread across the world which means the Mother Elf would never have been created to stop it. That also means Weil wouldn't be able to corrupt her and use Omega to start the Elf Wars which ends up killing 60% of all humans and 90% of all reploids.
@@TheBanishedWind How so? Bass wasn't even in the game to begin with. He and Proto Man were left out of the game for such a BS reason that's beyond insulting to peoples' intelligence.
I never liked Zero having long hair. While on the topic, X should have been given hair, like Rock had. Of course, the difference is that Rock was originally meant to be a surrogate son, and lab gopher for Dr. Light/Right, while so far in canon, X was built to always be battle ready. X appears to lack human features, aside from basic shape, and a face. Ironically though, this does not match his personality of preferring peace, except for the fact his buster can morph into a hand.

Wily is actually responsible for Zero's redesign from X2 onward. It's believed Serges from X2 either was a surrogate body for Wily or was a Wily number himself who's purpose was to rebuild Zero in the even something happened to his body. Serges is the X-Hunter in charge of rebuilding Zero's body prior to X collecting all the parts, so he's responsible for the design change.
@@falecomigo Isoc was voiced by Wily's voice actor from Megaman 8 and Megaman X4 Takeshi Aono plus he looks EXTREMELY similar to Wily in robot form. Like Serges Isoc is ALSO a robotic "copy" of Wily meant to observe and study Zero's development from afar just like Dr. Light's Capsule AI.
Here, he would be creating both the body of the God of Destruction AND mind of the one who finally paves the way for Dr. Light's dream, however imperfect. Once, he lamented what he was fighting for....and he gets his answer a century later, aboard a falling orbital cannon, moments before his heroic sacrifice.

@@EternalNero You act like that's inherently a bad story. Keep one thing in mind, the X games do eventually go into Zero (while still keeping the dark themes I'm guess you're looking for) and then into Zx which is honestly continuing on the Zero story and let's not forget; Zx isn't entirely bright and cheery either. So again, I'm not changing my stance. He. Is. A. HATER.
The music, the way Wily builds up his ultimate creation, and of course the panning reveal of none other than Zero all combines to create a chillingly awesome ending.
I like that he mentions his "other project" meaning the Maverick Virus. It's honestly pretty frightening that this doctor caused so much death and destruction among humans and reploids from this one robot. Events that continue into Mega Man Zero.

This awesome ending just shows how incompetent Capcom is to not even bothering trying to bridge the gap between the Classic and the X series. Seriously, I wanted to see what happened next that set up the events for the X series. Just what all did happen when Zero was finally finished by Dr.Wily and awakened? Yes, I know we get little tidbits in the X games, but c'mon, you cannot tell me that is enough to satisfy. Knowing how bad Capcom has gotten now, I guess w'ell never truly know. Really sad.
But, isn't that a good thing? Going from Astroboy to Casshern is pretty extreme, it's not like there's enough evidence to draw your own logical conclusion.
Astroboy and Casshern are shows that have no relation although Classic Megaman is based on Astroboy and X is based on Casshern, the Classic and the X series are indeed related. X is the future after the classic.
This segment surprisingly reveals so much!. It shows that Zero began production first, before X. Thus, Zero was the first true Reploid. We have seen Zero's initial activation in a X4 flashback when Dr. Wiley says "Now go, destroy him - that's an order". From this we can propose that Wiley's X4 line "now go, destroy him" to Zero was actually referring to the original megaman, and not X. It's likely that Zero was very powerful upon initial activation, and easily destroyed both Bass and Megaman.
Zero wasn't the first true reploid, damn it, it's canon that Light was the first to design a robot capable of thinking like a human and then reploids were created after that you could say Zero was just an advanced robot master, because at first only Wily's commands were in his mind.
I agree with you about the cataclysm theory, that Zero killed them all, but Zero is a robot, and actually X is a robot too. Reploid is a short name for "replicant android", all the other robots that were made REPLICATING X's systems, those that give free will to robots. X and Zero are the last robots.
"If you created a powerful robot such as myself, it must have been an accident." "This girlie-looking long-haired robot will be the strongest? Don't make me laugh!" Wow. If there was nothing else Bass ever said that proved how arrogant he is, it's definitely those two lines right there.
Bass: "This long haired robot is gonna be the strongest? Don't make me laugh!" Omega Zero and Awakened Zero after nearly destroying the entire earth: "That's where you're wrong kiddo."
I think this ending is the most revealing thing for those who love both Megaman and the X saga. Although there are still many unresolved issues as regards the classic megaman, protoman and bass... how the fuck did they die?
@@brtruev1710 True and that's my headcanon also that Protoman exploded and left the original city in ruins (which is a fact when Dr.Cain finds X deep within said ruins) in Mega Man 2 Powered up Protoman also tells Yellow Devil "If a few shots from your eye hits me I go boom together with everything else for miles" that said it's never been canonically comfirmed by Capcom
I haven't played this game... Yet, but this Ending is actually pretty amazing, like I feel like today Capcom would never even try to bridge the gap between classic era and X era and this cutscene tells you a Lot, like the fact that zero began construction before X, or, the more important fact to a lore fanatic like myself, the fact that zero wasn't just built as a host for the virus, he was built as a standalone being that has the virus to enhance his system. Plus I love how bass reacts to zero, it's especially ironic because we know what happens afterwards.
Zero probably wasn't built with the virus in mind, the virus was created to control him because it seems Willy had a bad experience with him based on his first activation from the X4 cutscene.
@@shadowmaster452 Most likely Zero has always been Zero, rather Wily used the Maverick/Irregular virus on Zero which had Zero go berserk, it makes little sense that Zero turned calm from a virus that makes everyone else go as nuts as Zero does when he's infected himself, most likely the bad experience was from Wily infecting Zero with the intentions of awakening his true power, while a few uncomfirmed theories suggest that Zero was made from tech Wily stole from Light (During Mega Man 8 most likely when Bass ruined Light's lab and stole a lot of stuff which were never identified) then Wily created Zero with said tech which made Zero good, so Wily used the Maverick Virus to change him Alas that last part is just a theory Alas Zero went nuts and Wily decided to lock Zero down with the virus later , which also explains Zero being crazy when he first faced Sigma only to later become his peaceful self, so Zero's true form is probably the one part with the virus, thus his memories are restored ...There's nothing calming about the Irregular Virus, Zero himself goes nuts each time he's affected by it, and yet he seems like one of the few able to beat it (Not the only one, Doppler among a few others has beaten it)
In a sense, wily was absolutely right. Zero (as a prototype even) was way stronger than any other machine built before him, wily understood this and that's why he sealed him, because he had a perfect machine of destruction with no way of controlling, or stopping him. That's why even if it was his masterpiece, he never used it against the original MegaMan.
I will forever believe that Dr Wily created an AI of himself based on his memories from these games which was found by other people and put into new bodies (Or being just there in the case of one time) through the X series (Sigma putting it in Serges from X2, And. Much later finding and backing up the AI into his computer in X5, ect)
Funny thing is, Not only did wily actually achive in making zero the strongest robot he ever made, but the only robot he made that’s a hero even though that’s not what he aimed
@JAYWALKERS3000 Well, the shoulder pads and highlights were the original design that Kegi Infune, the creator of megaman had for Zero. Due to some issues, he changed the design to the one we see in Megaman X. that is why Zero dies in the end, so Kegi Infune could impliment the original Zero's X2 and onward design. (applaud the megaman nerd ^^;)
This is the original design. MMX1 Zero was still incomplete, a prototype. Dr. Cain never repaired Zero, Serges did it. Cain just had a control chip to put inside the body. MMX2 Zero is the complete project, which only Serges knew how to reassemble. Did u see the "other project" mentioned by Wily? Theories say that its a technology that allows his mind to get into robotic bodies. Take a look at Serges (Mustache... Detailed knowledge of Zero's blueprints...) Voila!
@@juniormendes264 Thanks for the idea that Wily installed his mind into robotic bodies as "the other project" instead of the "maverick virus". That would make more sense to the storyline.
Wild how the awful things that happen in Megaman Zero, including the Elf wars and near end of humanity, were all caused by a guy named Dr. Wily who likes to flex his eyebrows
Not as odd as one may think. The actions of highly influential people such as Julius Caesar or Saint Paul, have caused wars among other political implications centuries, even millennia, after their deaths. In the Megaman universe Wily was a radical willing to take things to the extreme, for better or worse, those are the people who have the biggest impact on the world. But I really like how they tied all of the series together with subtle hints. I find it ironic that in effect Wily is the "main" character in the Megaman universe, his actions had more repercussions than any other character.
Thanks Dr.. Your robot saves the world helped with Copy X in far future.. also... put an end to X series gracefuly.. :') HA- I BET YOU WOULDN'T EXPECT THAT WILY!!
there are analogues to the older robots, but generally yeah. Like you see Met's in both series, and the Armor Soliders who ride the armor suits look like sniper joes
There are a lot of fantasies that Zero killed Mega Man, but Inafune specifically stated this isn't the case. That said, he no longer has any say in the Mega Man canon, so if Capcom wanted to make it so (lol as if that'll ever happen) they could without any resistance what so ever. Mega Man's death will always been the elephant in the room to fans. We know it happens. We just have no idea how it does. I'd think that most of the classic series cast ends up falling victim to Wily's virus, though.
@metaltom2003 The reason the schematics include the shoulder pads, armor plating, and the upgraded Zero buster is that the silhouette shows what Zero would look like when he was complete. I believe Inafune has already mentioned that Zero was activated before he was complete(X1 - X2) and that he was "completed" by Serges(who is rumored to be Wily in disguise, but there's no proof of it) in X3, which is why he had his upgrades in X4.
No, it's the maverick virus - or just "virus" since maverick wouldn't be a robotic term until the next century. King was made in conjunction with Bass when Bassnium was created and is already in existence, though un-debuted, by the time PF 2 is out. Zero and the virus go hand in hand as Wily's two final creations. There's no canon for what happens when the virus is initially unleashed, but it is known that it is squashed and sealed away until Zero re-awakens.
There's no canon suggesting that it is indeed the maverick virus either, that said by the time Cain find's X it's under the ruins of the city in where the original Mega Man lived together with his family, that also a suggestion to as what Zero might have done, also considering Protoman was literally a wandering nuke with a defect in his reactor, it might just as well have been him that went boom In Mega Man 2: Powered Up Protoman tells Yellow Devil something like "Pops made me with an atomic reactor, two hits from your shots and I go boom with everything miles away" considering he was defective and could literally level an entire city, chances are that happened too Especially since when Inafune was asked if Zero killed Mega Man he said "Zero would never do such a thing" pretty much eliminating Zero from theories regarding what happened with Mega Man's original city, so it could just as well have been the havok caused by the virus
Quite fascinating that (so far) the only reference the Classic series has to the X series (aside from MAYBE Roboenza being a prototype Maverick Virus) is this half forgotten arcade game.
Megaman wanted robots to get free will to decide how justice would be served (that time when he really wanted to kill Wily with Bass saying "who hesitates loses" Zero on the other hand finally fulfilled Light's ideals, Megaman's wish and Wily's Ambition by becoming the most powerful robot who brought peace to everyone by killing a human
I like to think that megaman , bass and protoman fought together and sacrificed their 3 busters at same time to just barely contain zero and willy brought him back to his capsule , and since then , bass proto and mega has to live normal lives without their busters
Why is it that everytime wily makes a really powerful robot which can rival mega man they're disobedient Quick man in the archie comics, ballade, bass and zero
Isn't that why there is the power of two for sith in Star Wars? Powerful "bad guys" always have high self worth and fight with each other and rebel against each other. It's the weaker bad guys that stand in line and follow mindlessly as their overlord spreads propaganda that he is the ultimate winner.
Now that you mention it it makes a lot of sense, it must be hard to create an evil robot and control him, why would he listen if he has no honor, integrity, discipline and things most one associates with being "Good"
None of the capitalization was incorrect grammatically. The lower-case "P" was higher then it should be, but I would imagine that is due to game spacing limitations. Proper names, as well as sentence beginnings (Anything that comes after a period, question mark, or exclamation point.) should be capitalized.
I guess this is the reason why Megaman and Bass don't appear anymore. I mean, Zero probably went berserk and nearly killed his creator. Look at the pile of debris from the robots he destroyed if you played Megaman X4 (which reveals Zero as a creation of Dr. Wily as "the ultimate robot"). Megaman and Bass could never survive a machine like that. That's why Wily had to "press the headache button" for Zero to fall on his knees and suffer a headache. Then Wily would seal him in a capsule, just as Dr. Light sealed Megaman X in a capsule. So that's my theory.
I believe Dr wily could still be alive in the x series or at least he is a capsule probably like dr light is. Because in X5 Sigma says he spoke to an old man who really hates X. And this same old man is obsessed with Zero. Also in X5 it's speculated that big robot Sigma is controlling is Gamma from mega man 3 dr wily must of have given Gamma to Sigma.
Does the expiration date apply to Mega Man? The robot masters in 9 have later serial numbers than Mega Man yet they were up first. Also, since they were still around at the credits of 9, they might have, or be working on, abolishing that law? I haven't played the X series yet so I don't know how that lore fits in.
Devin Craig, Megaman, the robot masters, Bass and Protoman are all robots that have an expiration date and require regular maintenance. While X, Zero and the reploids are far more independent in this sense being able to last for several centuries and do self-maintenance.
Not 100% sure, but I think that I remember reading somewhere X1 Zero was not actualyl finished and when the X hunters recreated him in X2, they finished Wily's schematic (Hence the new shoulder armor, and obtaining the Z-Saber).
I read that the reason his armor is like that in X1 is because of the limitations of the game cartridge at the time. That's why in Maverick Hunter X for PSP he has a more complete armor.
Best Explanation; Serges is greatly hinted toward being Wily, ESPECIALLY in the Japanese Dialogue, add that with the fact that Serges knows Zero's Scematics and somehow kept Sigma from knowing anything about Zero (until X5), Not only does the evidence back it up, but it also brings new info to the table, Zero pre-X2 was incomplete.
I like how in the Megaman series (original, X, Zero, ZX) just about every woe traces back to Wily's actions. There are figures like that IRL as well (whether positive or negative), generally religious ones (Jesus, Muhammad, Confucius, etc.) though other non-religious ones have existed, such as Julius Caesar. Just interesting to think about.
Unfortunately, with the disaster of Mighty No. 9 damaging Keiji Inafune's reputation, that might not be canon anymore and there is a high chance that Capcom will reveal that Zero might have a hand in the deaths of the original cast because of his psychotic nature as shown with him massacring a number of Reploids before fighting Sigma in a cutscene from X4. Keep in mind that Zero is made specifically to destroy the classic Mega Man, not Mega Man X. I'm not sure though as according to a certain source by Capcom, Zero was sealed by Dr. Wily and never wakes up until the time before the Mega Man X series. The most puzzling thing is that we never know what happened to the original Mega Man cast when the X series begins (except for Dr. Light). Oh, and you should be aware of that as well as Mega Man 11's release leading to Capcom's redemption by now.
@@ThomasJeff1898 it's not because Inafune left Capcom that means this fact is disregarded, to want Zero to kill the cast of the classic saga, even though he knows he was denied, is to be blinded by fanaticism for the theory, if this did not happen try to believe another theory, but supposing that Zero actually killed Megaman who was obviously a world famous robot for repeatedly blocking Dr Wily's plans, how would he be a total unknown in the X series? And if Zero killed the entire cast of the classic series, who prevented him from destroying the world? if you think it was X who stopped him, know that he focused on hibernating until the X series period. On the Capcom page about the Nintendo DS Zero Series Collection it was said that Zero was sealed by Wily because of a flaw in her cognitive program, not only is it known what happened to Dr Light but also to Dr Wily who according to Inafune it was brought back by the virus, Capcom is unlikely to reveal what happened in the classic series because it makes even more profits now that they have returned with the franchise.
Zero didnt kill the classic cast because he wasnt awakened until 21XX when sigma's unit found him in a capsule. Its aslo the cutscene from megaman x4 i believe.
Actually No. Zero's Personality is the Zero we all know, if you believe Serges was Wily reincarnate (why not? Dr.Light did almost the same shit too) You'll find Zero's personality was completely the same despite being built to Wily's complete Schematics (which Sigma never got a hold of until X5)
Considering what happens in this ending I wanna see something official of what happens once zero is finished. I wanna believe in that whole cataclysm theory that zero killed off most of the original bots. Megaman aside, I can see Bass being cocky enough to try taking on zero and get floored by him. Plus during the X series we get no reference to OG megaman and his heroics as if the events of the old games were forgotten to time which is a shame. I love when games make callbacks to past game's events basically following a continuity. Not only do we all wanna know what happened in between but I also wanna know how the hell wily prepared his return like in x2. Especially since its implied he became an AI.
@CrystalHunter1989 Back in 2008, I believe it was, there was an interview with Inafune, where he confirmed that Zero didn't kill any of the Classic cast. He, in fact, never once encountered any of them.
You know, there's a lot of similarities between Megaman X and Dragonball Z. Both series are darker sequels to their predecessor, both have a last letters of the alphabet at the end of their titles, both introduce a fan favorite character, Zero/Vegeta, both introduce a pacifist with lots of potential X/Gohan. And lastly, both are awesome.
I always wondered... Is Wily's other project (the infamous W Virus) some kind of self adapting program that can evolve and turn robots berserk (AKA Irregular / Mavericks)? Or is there more than just that? It's clear to me that the Sigma Virus is none other than the same W Virus after evolving, but the details on how it works exactly were never clear to me.
I think the other project is Wily's mind transfer to robots, its still unknown If Serges and Isoc were Wily's mind hosts. Serges had huge knowledge on Zero's body and programming.
Junior Mendes I think it's already confirmed that both Isoc and Serges had Wily's mind After playing X5 and X6 again, somehow they vaguely explain that the Virus could also carry Wily's memories (soul?). That's why Sigma got to "meet" the Doc
Dang it when the I saw this scene for the 1st time and the part appear zero, I got a scream of loud of excitement! And almost fainted xD and why I used bass so much xD
@SuperMarioGuy12345 No, his original design was the one we see here, but Kegi Infune couldn't use it in X1, making this game have a continuity error since it came out in 1996 for japan. (U.S. later got it in 2006)
But maybe the reason he appears in his full armor is because wily may have planed the zero prototype the same way for x but thing is idk if there was supose to be a prototype zero planed for the x series, because zero has a totally different style and personality wen hes helping x
Capcom was onto something when they made connections like this between the classic and X series. It's too bad they didn't keep expanding on this with 9, 10, and 11. Instead they went with stupid shit like "roboenza"
roboenza might just have been a prototype maverick virus wily was testing out, a full on connection game between the classic and x series can take stuff from the previous games and make them connect somehow.
@castledragonsword maybe the reason dr.light couldn't proper finish activating X was because zero killed him, that would be so freaking dark and awesome, but by the looks of it capcom doesn't give a crap about this anymore and we'll probably never get an answer :/
Lowkey funny how Light and Wily created similar looking robots yet Zero ended up being much more overwhelmingly powerful anyway Goes to shows Wily was a true genius
You got to remember that Zero was originally slated to be the hero of the X series, not X. X was only supposed to introduce the game mechanics before handing it off to Zero. This change in ideals happened before in Capcom games, Namely Street Fighter 3 and how Ryu/Ken was NOT supposed to be in it.
I i think the story went between the events of the Classic and X series. Zero was created and did end up killing MM, Protoman, and Bass. As Dr. Light created Megaman X sometime after the events, Zero malfunctions, kills Willy and disappeared. Peace must of been made after Zero went missing and that's when Light put X asleep until Dr. Cain finds him. and in the middle of that Sigma finds Zero, hits him in the head and Zero is unconscious losing his memory (as seen in MMX 4 flashback)
Because the reploids are based on X. X is the original deal and Zero is something else. Zero is the "anti-X" and therefore "anti-reploid" sort of speaking..
@@kanemccarthy1979 No they are not. You can literally play any of the X games and they'll tell you they are not reploids. Reploids are copies of X which neither can be because X is the original and Zero was created roughly around the same time with different schematics. A quick Google search or UA-cam search can easily tell you this. Stop lying to yourself and use the information available to you at your disposal.
@castledragonsword maybe than we should have a open Letter and get people who want to see how this all end they need to finish the classic Megaman series
he says bassinium is a powerful energy not an element. not some kind of indestructible material that he constructed the body out of, but rather something that powered it... perhaps the fandoms conversion of this energy into that metal is what caused the setbacks..
I still wish they finally tied in the Mega Man series with the X series. From what I have heard Zero wasn't supposed to have killed the original cast. But honestly, how can that be possible for him not to kill the cast, yet Bass, Roll, Duo, Proto Man, Rush and Mega Man are nowhere to be seen, despite robots living for eons? What I figure is that Wily released Zero, who Zero kills, probably because of his instability, even if he wasn't intentionally trying to kill Wily. Zero fights and destroys Bass, Proto Man, even Duo and Rush. Mega Man tries to stop Zero, but Zero is too powerful, so Mega Man self destructs to try to stop him, which is just enough to put Zero in a stasis mode, where he is awaken later on by Reploid scientists, and then causes havoc, forcing various units and Sigma himself to confront him Basically Mega Man has to be dead. They have already established that X and Mega Man are two different robots, especially in the OVA, where he is building X from scratch. Even X didn't even know who Light was until Light told him who he was and why he was being created. If Wily or Zero were still a threat, obviously Dr. Light wouldn't have made a robot with AI. Because the whole reason why he had X put to sleep was to do diagnostics and he feared he may have been too dangerous to be released just yet. If Wily or Zero were still around, Light would have made another Mega Man to combat him. But the threat was eliminated. Light seemed to be all alone, too. Don't see Roll, Auto, or other bots. Light saw the threat was eliminated but wanted to finish his magnum opus before he died, seeing how it wasn't long before he died of old age.
Zero was not activated at all Wily never got a chance to use him. He wanted to use Zero to kill Mega Man the original but due to a programming error Zero was too violent and Wily could not control him so he sealed him away in a capsule and passed away long before he could complete him. Dr.Light knew nothing of Wily's surprise he just built X because he wanted to make a new advanced robot that could completely think and feel on his own and have total free will. Also in Mega Man X4 it is shown and proven even more that Zero could not have possibly killed the OG mega man because in his nightmare vision of WIly he tells Zero to ''go destroy him'' it is clear he was ordering him to go and find Mega Man the original. It sucks that Zero had an error and Wily could not control him even though a fight in theory would be zero just absoultely smacking OG Mega Man and destroying them all with ease like 1 shot beat all of them still would have been neat to see. At some point during the X Timeline though as you know Zero eventually just let's himself out and frees himself from the capsule and starts killing other reploids and that was around the time Sigma faced him and nearly died. Lol just think about it for a second Zero is insanely powerful a freshly awakened incomplete body Zero nearly beat and killed Sigma who at the time was the strongest reploid ever built Zero nearly beat this dude all by himself a freshly awake Zero that is insane now imagine what he;d do to the original characters if they ever faced off. Anyway the thing that most likely happened to all the original roots and that is the best theiry is they are all deactivated. Dunno if you know the story of mega man but remember all of dr.light robots there? how they all had expire dates and were set to be deactiated and scrapped after their jobs were done? Well that is the same theory I have for Mega Man the original. more likely than not they were all shut down and put away because they at some point would have reached their expire date. Especially after Dr.Light himself passed away and died who was gonna be there for those robots? Same thing with Dr.Wily he likely shut Bass down near the end of his life. Especially since there would be no more Mega Man so why keep Bass active? So I think that is what happened and Protoman probably died from his unstable energy core running out.
@Metticus i would guess that since zero was a mindless killer in the past he got rid of megaman and bass protoman had a problem with his body and maybe died from that thats what i think
@Joshuaknox2001 From what i gathered in the megaman wiki, the virus is not the other project that wily made. you can go look it up, but i have no idea if its true or not, the megaman wiki can be edited by anyone, so i dont know. Just thought that i would make that point. and no, i don't know what else it could mean either.
theory: zero was originaly planned as sex doll robot wife for willy but the budget got tight and willy changed plans making zero as the ultimate combat robot 🤣🤣🤣🤣
''Ha!, This girlie-looking, long-haired robot will be the strongest? Don't make me laugh!''
At that day, no fucks were given to Bass
Well, _duh._ I came to see Bass call Zero "girlie-looking," and that's what I saw.
My headcanon is that Zero heard the entire conversation and when he was prematurely awoken he disposed of Bass first out of spite.
That didn’t aged well in unlimited
Wily making the single-handed savior of humanity 200 years too early
I remember losing my shit when I saw this the first time.
I sort of just dropped dead when I first saw it. It is so powerful with the accompanying music.
Yep, it was this cutscene that my friend showed me to prove Wily created Zero and I was like whaaaaaaat
Lol me too xD
Same, and that was decades ago couldn't believe it, I thought I was dreaming
Poor Dr. Willy creating powerful robots that he can't control...
Yeah and I bet every powerful robot that he create always don't obeying him. I can't think of one that actually can win against Megaman obey Dr. Willy order of "Destroy Megaman". They only want to fight, destroy everything and Megaman always get in the way.
Ellen Medeiros yup
Actually, Zero always disobeyed Wily, even during his psycho maverick state before Sigma knocked him out. He would essentially kill anything on sight, be it friend or foe, and just laugh it off.
That's what happen when you dont put your Robot in a testing capsule for 30 years.
Wily's death is unknown.
Funny how zero helped light in the long run
And then MegaMan 11 takes it up a notch

Astroboy and Casshern are shows that have no relation although Classic Megaman is based on Astroboy and X is based on Casshern, the Classic and the X series are indeed related. X is the future after the classic.
We do know one thing, though. Zero did not kill Megaman and his family.
@King Ramses Mega Man 11 is out there, and I hope soon they wil fill the gap between Rock's and X's timelines.
Zero wasn't the first true reploid, damn it, it's canon that Light was the first to design a robot capable of thinking like a human and then reploids were created after that
you could say Zero was just an advanced robot master, because at first only Wily's commands were in his mind.
@@KARKATELCESARENVIADODESA-pv4yd yeh then je was just given a free will program making him a reploid

@@shadowmaster452 Most likely Zero has always been Zero, rather Wily used the Maverick/Irregular virus on Zero which had Zero go berserk, it makes little sense that Zero turned calm from a virus that makes everyone else go as nuts as Zero does when he's infected himself, most likely the bad experience was from Wily infecting Zero with the intentions of awakening his true power, while a few uncomfirmed theories suggest that Zero was made from tech Wily stole from Light (During Mega Man 8 most likely when Bass ruined Light's lab and stole a lot of stuff which were never identified) then Wily created Zero with said tech which made Zero good, so Wily used the Maverick Virus to change him
Alas that last part is just a theory
Alas Zero went nuts and Wily decided to lock Zero down with the virus later , which also explains Zero being crazy when he first faced Sigma only to later become his peaceful self, so Zero's true form is probably the one part with the virus, thus his memories are restored
...There's nothing calming about the Irregular Virus, Zero himself goes nuts each time he's affected by it, and yet he seems like one of the few able to beat it (Not the only one, Doppler among a few others has beaten it)
In a sense, wily was absolutely right.
I'm pretty sure that's the case. It's pretty much his version of what Light did for X with the Capsules.

Now that we have MM11, maybe MM12 would introduce Zero. Of course he would not kill Mega Man, I was thinking he would be like a Mini boss of sorts.
What about quint
@metaltom2003 The reason the schematics include the shoulder pads, armor plating, and the upgraded Zero buster is that the silhouette shows what Zero would look like when he was complete.
I believe Inafune has already mentioned that Zero was activated before he was complete(X1 - X2) and that he was "completed" by Serges(who is rumored to be Wily in disguise, but there's no proof of it) in X3, which is why he had his upgrades in X4.
Wow...Bass just looks ridiculous, no wonder he went crazy.
Ridiculous? How so?
No, it's the maverick virus - or just "virus" since maverick wouldn't be a robotic term until the next century. King was made in conjunction with Bass when Bassnium was created and is already in existence, though un-debuted, by the time PF 2 is out.
Zero and the virus go hand in hand as Wily's two final creations. There's no canon for what happens when the virus is initially unleashed, but it is known that it is squashed and sealed away until Zero re-awakens.
There's no canon suggesting that it is indeed the maverick virus either, that said by the time Cain find's X it's under the ruins of the city in where the original Mega Man lived together with his family, that also a suggestion to as what Zero might have done, also considering Protoman was literally a wandering nuke with a defect in his reactor, it might just as well have been him that went boom
In Mega Man 2: Powered Up Protoman tells Yellow Devil something like "Pops made me with an atomic reactor, two hits from your shots and I go boom with everything miles away" considering he was defective and could literally level an entire city, chances are that happened too
Especially since when Inafune was asked if Zero killed Mega Man he said "Zero would never do such a thing" pretty much eliminating Zero from theories regarding what happened with Mega Man's original city, so it could just as well have been the havok caused by the virus
I agree with Bass, Zero is girly-lookin. But he sure could whoop Bass's ass without a second thought if he wanted to.

None of the capitalization was incorrect grammatically. The lower-case "P" was higher then it should be, but I would imagine that is due to game spacing limitations. Proper names, as well as sentence beginnings (Anything that comes after a period, question mark, or exclamation point.) should be capitalized.
my other project = the virus created from the dark energy
Zero's evil went into sigma or something so he didn't rampage
Plus Zero wasn't released for a while I think
TheOfficialPixelSaiyan that's after Megaman and bass's time. Robots have a expiration dates in this world.
Wait...Zero with his FULL ARMOR (from X3) ???????????
X2
@@ignaciocalymayor8278 Actually, no, Maverick Hunter X retains Zero's X1 design.
Nope. Inafune said that Zero didn't kill Megaman or Bass.
So,he killed Proto Man and Duo instead

I actually like the idea of Zero killing them all, though I can understand why they didn't do it, it's kind of morbid.
2:02 I guess this is before Mega Man 10 because by then Roboenza was ready to be released

He woke up in Cut scene of X4 and lost to sigma while infecting him and turning sigma rogue

Back in 2008, I believe it was, there was an interview with Inafune, where he confirmed that Zero didn't kill any of the Classic cast. He, in fact, never once encountered any of them.
He was 'incomplete" in X1. in X2 its where he gets rebuilt with his planned design, not X3. you messed your dates up there.
Some say Dr. Wily somehow used the Evil Energy to make Roboenza turns into the Maverick Virus that was inside Zero.
I think the other project is Wily's mind transfer to robots, its still unknown If Serges and Isoc were Wily's mind hosts. Serges had huge knowledge on Zero's body and programming.
Junior Mendes I think it's already confirmed that both Isoc and Serges had Wily's mind
After playing X5 and X6 again, somehow they vaguely explain that the Virus could also carry Wily's memories (soul?). That's why Sigma got to "meet" the Doc
The maverick virus had wily's mind.

Logical of you. Thank you.
roboenza might just have been a prototype maverick virus wily was testing out, a full on connection game between the classic and x series can take stuff from the previous games and make them connect somehow.
Roboenza could have been related to the Maverick Virus though.
@@publiccrown2382 you know how that narrows things up.
@castledragonsword maybe the reason dr.light couldn't proper finish activating X was because zero killed him, that would be so freaking dark and awesome, but by the looks of it capcom doesn't give a crap about this anymore and we'll probably never get an answer :/
Lowkey funny how Light and Wily created similar looking robots yet Zero ended up being much more overwhelmingly powerful anyway
Goes to shows Wily was a true genius
i thought protoman was a young yet-to-be zero
You got to remember that Zero was originally slated to be the hero of the X series, not X. X was only supposed to introduce the game mechanics before handing it off to Zero. This change in ideals happened before in Capcom games, Namely Street Fighter 3 and how Ryu/Ken was NOT supposed to be in it.
I'd say the end result turned out pretty great!
1:21 Hmm...I wonder who that could be?
Wow I just realized the “ girlie looking long hair robot” comment was from bass not wily. If only bass knew
The one thing Wily saw with Bass is the one thing Wily couldn't predict with Zero.
No, Keiji Inafune himself confirmed Zero did not kill Mega Man, stating "Zero would never do such a thing"
ASSNIUM
Bad Assnium
In Zero dream before he wakes there's a bunch of robots destroyed & one of them look like megaman
i love Bass 💜
Zero could never replace Bass all bass needs is to make wily or light to give him more armor like x or zero has in the x series.
X and Zero are not reploids
Kien D. Nguyen they are Robot Masters
Because the reploids are based on X. X is the original deal and Zero is something else. Zero is the "anti-X" and therefore "anti-reploid" sort of speaking..
@@trenzinhodaalegria8012 Reploid, or Repliroid, just stands for Replicant Android.
Yes they are a reploid is a robot that has full free will and can fully think and feel for themselves both x and zero can do that they're reploids
@castledragonsword
maybe than we should have a open Letter and get people who want to see how this all end
they need to finish the classic Megaman series
he says bassinium is a powerful energy not an element. not some kind of indestructible material that he constructed the body out of, but rather something that powered it... perhaps the fandoms conversion of this energy into that metal is what caused the setbacks..
@psoslash hmmm Maybe Original Zero's Shoulders Are Square And Got Destroyed And Rebuilt To Round I Think
Mega Man tries to stop Zero, but Zero is too powerful, so Mega Man self destructs to try to stop him, which is just enough to put Zero in a stasis mode, where he is awaken later on by Reploid scientists, and then causes havoc, forcing various units and Sigma himself to confront him
Basically Mega Man has to be dead.
@@Naglfar94 Although if they were to expire, couldn't they put them in capsules to help extend their life span, as X is over a hundred years old.
@Metticus i would guess that since zero was a mindless killer in the past
he got rid of megaman and bass
protoman had a problem with his body and maybe died from that
thats what i think
@Joshuaknox2001 From what i gathered in the megaman wiki, the virus is not the other project that wily made. you can go look it up, but i have no idea if its true or not, the megaman wiki can be edited by anyone, so i dont know. Just thought that i would make that point. and no, i don't know what else it could mean either.
theory: zero was originaly planned as sex doll robot wife for willy but the budget got tight and willy changed plans making zero as the ultimate combat robot 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol, yeah because sex dolls are way more expensive than war machines... Or something #Logic
