Very nice,I have the military jeep following the m38 the m38a1 , it also has the same fording capability, although I will never go under water with my m38a1,Great video and thank you for your service to this Great Nation, R. Mark Meyer. Falls City Ne.
Great video. I am also a vet, Army. i also have a thing for jeeps. my jeep was a 1995 jeep wrangler YJ Sahara 5 speed with a 4.0 straight engine. I prefer the jeeps from the post ww2 jeeps to my 1995 jeep wranglers. thank you for your service.
Great Jeep. Thank you for your service. I am Daniel Wallace retired AFNG from the 129 AQW via ANG 163 Arrmored Cav and HC-1 Air Rescue USN. Yes I am of clan Wallace and do thank you for naming yoy jeep after Sir William. I salute you sir.
@@IfThisCarCouldTalk Thanks for the kind words Dan. And thank you for your service as well and I extend a salute in return. My wife's genealogy suggests she may have a distant connection to clan Wallace and hence the name.
I restored a '51 a few years ago. It was in Strata Blue paint when it left the service in 1967. Very popular at car shows and parades as we have an Air Force base nearby. The top was added in stages, as the budget allowed. You can see Leslie Nielsen drive one in a couple of short scenes in "The Reluctant Astronaut".
@@richtomich3993 Hi Rich. Great job on your MC. You did an amazing job. I am just starting to restore a 51 m38 Air Force. Can you tell me what paint you used for the strata blue? Do you have a color code? Thanks.
I would really like to own a M38 as nice as yours! I have owned quite a few air force vehicles, because the AF treated their vehicles generally better than the other branches. I've had the M1009, M35a2, M151a1, M1028, m1008, but they all were painted camo, but in the slightly lighter green the Air Force used. Lighter than the Army, or the even darker paint the Marine's used. The only blue AF vehicle I have owned is a Dodge Ram 50. It was basically a civilian vehicle, bare bones and painted the AF blue. I have seen AF buses painted blue, and I had guessed that the AF only painted their vehicles blue when they were not combat vehicles, until I heard your story, and saw your M38. Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks.
Hello sir SALUTE TO YOU I HOPE I COULD HAVE ONE LIKE THIS A PLAN AND DREAM FOR MY PERSONAL SERVICE IN THE PHILIPPINES I REALLY LIKE AND LOVE THIS JEEP..THANK YOU VERY MUCH,,, BEFORE MORE OF THEM IN SUBIC BAY AND CLARK FIELD PAMPANGA.. I really like olive drab but that blue looks fantastic, I have an M38 that was last used in the air force also- check my channel to see the complete opposite condition of mine. Its interesting to see what time can do to these old Willys Jeeps!
Glad you enjoyed the stories. The music was meant to be reminiscent of what was heard during it's war years. Sorry you didn't enjoy it but hope you like some of the others!
Great story!!!!

Fantastic restoration!, I'd love to restore an Air Force Jeep Willy, 14 year Air Force Veteran here. Kudos on a job well done!

Great video! The only problem with that jeep is isn’t not mine. Of course if it were, it would be used for antelope and mulie hunts! Take care!
Right on! You'd have the sweetest hunting Jeep around! Thanks for the great comment! Hope you subscribed.
Mine have front free lock hubs and overdrive goes up to 70 plus mph.

It’s 1947 willys jeep not a car.
