I love MGR:R music. The lyrics are concerningly realistic. The song itself such as "I'm My Own Master Now" gives us a backstory on a character who's introduction cutscene is not all the most important. As for the emotional part, I struggle with PTSD obviously not as severe as Raiden does, but I don't know what to say other than the music and the lyrics provoke some kind've emotions that I used to ignore, because I couldn't understand them.
To think of it, Metal Gear Rising would technically be the last game in the Metal Gear timeline. Taken place a few years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots with the passing of Big Boss & Solid Snake, it's up to Raiden to stop the new rise of the Metal Gears which gets in the hands of a government official. Once you've completed the game, the feeling of that knowing that's the final chapter of the Metal Gear Franchise. (I know Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain was originally the last Metal Gear Game released with Kojima but Phantom pain takes place in the past)
