You explained it very well and clear, BUT I took my shutter to the last setting like you said 30 seconds and there is NO BULB setting after that, I am in M and my last setting is 30 seconds, I have the a7lll. So what's your thoughts on that?
I faced same issue: but the notes in the guide helped. My issue was [Drive Mode] being in [Continuous shooting]. I could go to bulb mode once I was in Single shot Drive mode. helpguide.sony.net/ilc/1720/v1/en/contents/TP0001653106.html
Mine has the option to go into bulb mode but when I hit the shooter, it takes a fast picture only. Im on single shooting mode, silent shooter mode is off, I'm on Manual; not sure what other settings I need to change.
Hi Spyros I have just bought the Sony A7riii and cannot find bulb mode. I am in manual mode and cannot go beyond 30 seconds. I have set drive mode to single shot but Bulb is still not an option. Can you help please ?
Great video ---Just got the camera with 28-70 kit lens .... question, how do I focus to infinity? while in bulb mode. Is there a way to do it SLR style? ie AF in distant object in daylight--switch to manual and dont touch ! Appreciate some advice, thank you
Did you hear about the broken shutter problems with this camera ? I ordered it two days ago and I got it today. I didn’t even open the box. I might simply return it. Too expensive to fix it.
just found you brother nobody is better than you explaining any of this! Thanks a lot!
Gotta be in single shooting drive mode to get the Bulb setting available.
This is the most important thing
And he missed out on this most important point.
I am really happy with the Sony A7 IiI tutorials.
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying them
I use bulb mode in conjuction with an external flash to create "ghost trails" or to freeze the action at a defined point on the exposure.

The article below helped. You cannot use Bulb mode when silent shutter is selected
Why can't my A7 III camera go into bulb mode? What settings do I need to change?
Make sure your camera is in manual mode with single shot selected and make sure your not in silent shutter mode.
