As to the 1MOA discussion, check out Bloke on the Range's "1 MOA All Day Long" challenge. I don't think most rifles are actually capable of that if you don't cherry pick groups.
It's fun to challenge people i work with to prove their rifles are "Sub MOA." Tell them i want 2 targets, 100 yards, 1 round for a first round cold bore shot, then a second with 9 rounds. Mount the fucker in a sled, I don't care. I bet your rifle isn't half as good as you're telling me it is.
@lordhellfire153 ima try this next time I hit the range. Sounds like a good benchmark. Have a rifle that I've never shot more than an moa with when using 77 gr, wonder if it could keep up to a cold bore + 9 shot group. Usually is fine with grouping multiple times in a few minutes, but maybe a constant string could make it stray. (Usually do 5 round groups with a reload of the mag in between). I've hit a target the size of a nickel on a cold bore, but only tried once. Who's to say that wasn't luck? (I took that shot and ran, don't know if I could pull that off again and again).😂
@SubBubz get some old playing cards and shoot the aces of all 4 suits. That way you have a suitably small target to focus on, and if it is sub to 1 moa, you'll have the cards easily accessible to prove it.
I’ve tested a lot of garbage and have had a hard time finding modern barrels that DON’T shoot sub MOA with the ammo it likes, I’m learning that there are a lot more dipshits out there that can’t/don’t know how to shoot and blame/shot on rifles.
@@lordhellfire153you’re right my BCM is actually 1.25 MOA with 10 round groups. Sure I can make it shoot under MOA with only 3 shot groups, but that doesn’t count. Edit: and the 1.25 MOA was achieved by using 77gr OTMs. It’s more like 2 MOA with M193.
I really wish I knew why there's this sudden need for sub-moa rifles/barrels when most people 1) aren't capable of shooting moa or better on a remotely consistent basis and 2) there's practically no need for most shooters to need a moa or better precision. Also Hop, I'd try a Sanders Armory barrel and bolt before you give up on a AR15 6.5 Grendel. Or get a custom barrel made (I prefer Precision Firearms). The set up for suppressed and unsuppressed shooting is a little loathesome, but it'll work.
Because a poor barrel with a poor shooter make poor groups, a poor shooter with a good barrel make okay groups, a good shooter with a poor barrel make okay groups, and a good shooter with a good barrel make good groups. Theres no harm in having a rifle that outshoots the user.
"pistols must be accurate at 10+ yards" - I wondered whether this might have less to do with mechanical accuracy and more the features that make it so the user can make that fist-sized group. For example, a big part of the Lipseys J-frame project was putting actually useful sights on the thing instead of saying "well it's really just for contact distance and aiming isn't realistic"

I think a good quick explaination of EMPs is: This is what happens when a lot of really high energy photons pop off at once. Except... they're not really too high energy, they're mostly in the radio and microwave bands. So, the actual physical requirements for high energy photons forcing electrons out of atoms doesn't occur. So, you're just dealing with other, more boring stuff, most of which is just counteracted by some really basic construction ideas that are used for stuff like surge protection. You can also use a Faraday Cage and just say "No" to the EM spectrum. Faraday Cages are stupidly easy to make by the way. It is the origin of tin foil hats. A bigger problem will probably be transformers and intermediate stations. These use magnets a lot, and they can be disrupted by an EMP. But, in most cases, it is a "turn it off and then turn it back on again" type thing. But there's also a small potential for longer term damage with certain types of EMPs, like those from nukes, because there are 3 pulses back to back to back of varying strength. So! EMPs are of minimal danger to small and home electronics and of moderate but easy to repair danger to some parts of the electrical infrastructure. You may see temporary black outs, but no worse than a squirrel chewing through a wire. Well, unless it is a nuke. Then you have the whole "a nuke was dropped on us" problem.

Does it have to have a fixed front sight post to be called a dissipator??..

Hop I know you won't see this but what are your thoughts on the new B&T SRBS556-DM?
Legendary
“Remember, no Russian”
Brass has gotten a lot better at live streams
he's always had the looks!
Hi. My name is Joe, and I'm an addict. This is my fifth dissipator, and I'm not feeling like recovery is possible... I don't even shoot iron sights anymore. I just can't stop... Anyone have a hit of kino around?
You might be able to run that 11.5 mid unsupressed with a booster muzzle device like what's on short AKs.
Possible but why?
Texas is poppin lol
No it really sucks here

I have a 18in 6arc I use for hunting and it’s great for that
I like the caliber.
Raise your hand if you think Hop should be a character in Call of Duty
That sounds like Subnautica music in the background. Is it?
ME planet scanning music.
I've got a Triarc 12.5" mid and it seems to be gassed just right for a can or unsuppressed only with NATO spec 5.56. it'll only run with a carbine buffer and Mill spec BCG. I tried running it with my bootleg BCG and the extra mass is too much for it to cycle without a can.
@@Spencebot42 that's the same experience I had
Which suppressor were you running with this? Legitimately was just about to pick up an 11.5 barrel to pair with my polonium lol
Turbo K and Resonator K, Polos should be GTG with these.
Should I get an 11.5 Middy KAK 0.76 upper for suppressed shooting or a 10.3 crane spec 0.72 carbine upper? 😏
Always get an 11.5
Dissipator...or 'Kino'? You guys surely know how to confuse me.
take your pick.
My APX came with 3 mags and it was a $499 gun, no one has an excuse.
12.5” mountain mid length from Rainier arms get it on sale decent deal centurion c4 mid cut out with JP adjustable gas block A2 sight
That's a neato build.
Cool
Are there any negative effects if you Flute an HBAR dissipator (rifle gas system)?
If it's done well, it can be good. It's going to be more expensive and can mess with harmonics.
What movie did you guys say?
We talked about kingdom of heaven and dune
If you like the books, then the dune movies are good
Needs more cowbell
