Hi buddy hope your well. Yes i feel guilty for trading the roselli to alex didnt know it was going to crack so easy. Yes alex from easy going outdoors is superb he definitely knows wot makes a good blade & knows his stuff. & his tracker knife designs with orgin knives are amazing. Anyway if you got the picture i sent you of the roselli blank its very weird in design. I would not have made one with a round bar 2/3rds along the tang as that to me is a major weak spot. Most leukus as you know tend to be rectangle in shape along the tang the tapered nicely towards the end to pin it in place. But roselli doesnt do this he instead rounds off nearly half the tang in the handle which is going to cause major vibrations in the handle like a tuning fork hence why cracks appear on the handle under heavy use. & that handle is way too big & like i said before the reason i think he did that was to try & limit the vibrations in the handle & to hide the fact thst it was a major problem The design of the tang would make handle fitting alot faster as its mostly round bar stock towards the end. But its flawed in that it takes away alot of strength & encourages more vibrations in the handle which in time will cause the handle to crack. I think if you was to sand the handle thinner it woukd make the handle alot worse & vibrate even more. Great review bud keep it up 😊 😊
That all makes a lot more sense now. I did get your picture. A rectangle shape is obviously stronger, it didn't occur to me that it could affect the vibrations. I kind of blamed that on the shape of the handle. Guess I was wrong, it does make more sense Thanks for watching Lee

Think I would add a big moose antler knob on the end of the handle to make it easier to control while chopping. Roselli blades makes great big game tools for processing the critter into meat. I like a thinner, lighter Leuku for general camp use. Like a big knob on the ent to keep it secure in the hand while in use & easier to pull from sheath while wearing thick gloves or mittens.
Great honest review as always mate! I’m a big believer in that any tool should be used within its design capabilities and we only usually have problems when we abuse or use tools that aren’t suitable for the task, so whilst it’s fun to put tools through their paces it is not always a true reflection of its capabilities and performance. Thanks buddy, I should take up reindeer herding rather than dog sledding to use it properly though 😂. I actually think something we all use tools like this for up here is clearing birch from the tracks in front of the snowmobiles. The snow weight brings then down. Maybe I should have mentioned that in at least one of my leuku videos. To be honest I use the Terava Skrama more than any leuku. Hang on didn't you break one of those too? Was it a stainless one. Great video, Tim. I’ve always admired the Roselli’s thick forged blade but haven’t considered the issue with the pommel-less handle for chopping.
