Been shooting video with my GFX100. It can create amazingly beautiful video if you have a fast lens (F2 and less), and you use a variable ND filter so as to take advantage of that lens. For example, I have used Zeiss Milvus F1.4 lenses with a ND filter. I can shoot wide open and dial in the focus surely and precisely. That coupled with this large sensor produces really great video. You get the desired separation between subject and background that is so pleasing and cinematic. This is not a camera suited to 'run and gun.' It is not a GoPro. Don't try to make it one. It IS suited to controlled situations where the video can be staged and/or scripted. Examples would be corporate videos, demonstration videos, broadcast commercials, and interviews. In those cases, videos could be produced that have an extremely high quality. Clients will be very pleased with the result.
That is a gorgeous food vid, the colors are so real. If I didn't know what canned beans on toast tasted like this would be the next thing I cook on livestream. Beans on toast from scratch will be the first thing I livestream when I get my hands on a gfx100s. Thank you for making this.
Are the file sizes significantly larger than on say the Sony A7iii or A6400? Or alternatively, are the 100mp video files significantly larger than a 24mp full frame/apsc camera?
This is straight advertising, not a review. I just returned my GF80mm 1.7 because the autofocus is not usable for anything that moves and worse - the manual focus by wire is so laggy (at least 1/3rd second) that it is impossible to keep up focus with moving things like in my case the hands of an artist painting. I am surprised the autofocus/manual focus issues are not mentioned in this review.
The part about shallower depth of field cant be true. 80mm f1,7 on this sensor is roughly 55mm f 1,4. There are plenty of great 50mm 1,4 for full frame available, which results in exactly the same dof. There are even f1.2 lenses. Or 85mm f 1,4, which offer even shallower depth of field... or am I mistaken? Also: The ibis footage looks awefull with lots of aggressive shakes. Its nowhere near a S1H with way better ibis. This video is just a commercial (with affiliated links)

so which lens works best for a gfx 100s?
I actually lol'd when he said it was the best IBS on the market and then cut to shaky hand held footage.
@Alan Morgan, I'm not sure if this whole video was a satire or not.
Would this be a good camera for UA-cam videos?
Wow that was really something! 👏👏👏🙌
Lenses?
would be cool if they would make a 30mp gfx with dual gain sensor that can record 4k raw 60p
Excellent video, I enjoyed that, never expected the video capabilities to be taken seriously on this camera, to be honest. Good job.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!

You are wrong
Yes you are. There is the longer focal length which would make it feel like there's a shallower dof.
ugly footage
honestly, it was so bad...taking a great camera and making sth so ugly out of it..
Agree. Not impressed.
Hey sound guy, heard nothing at the end. footage did not wow me in the least.
