Those people hating on LSU Band just don’t understand. No, they’re not always playing music to get you up and dance, they’re playing the traditional and recognizable songs of Louisiana’s flagship university that have been played for decades. See them *in person* some time before judging them based on a video recording, and comparing them to the other *great* bands in this state that have been in Zulu before. LSU has won countless awards too. Don’t hate just because it’s not 100% what you might enjoy out of a marching band, and definitely don’t make this about race. We should all be on the same team here in Louisiana. We all have different tastes. But we should be appreciating what everyone in these parades have to showcase. Not to mention the Queen of Zulu goes to LSU, so this was a treat for the parade in and of itself to have LSU’s band there.

I played in Tiger Band in the early 1980’s. It was great seeing Tiger Band March in Zulu. In EBR high school, we played arrangements that Dr Isaac Greggs wrote and sent out to high schools. He was a great man. Both schools have great tradition and absolutely great bands. Music will always be the universal language and always the first to express diversity. The only thing that matters is if you can play and you can march. Geaux Tigers and Jags!
This band has won many awards over the years and those making absurd comments should get a life! This band is VERY incredible ! You should hear them in person

Tomaz Hilton what would be heated about the battle😭 the hbcu would crank on them and the pwi would try to be technical. It would be very boring and most likely embarrassing for pwi depending on the crowd
Why do PWIs purposely try not to entertain the crowds. There's plenty of music out there that would be perfect for them to play but they would rather stick with big band 40s stuff. SMDH
