@Emmanuel Dunn the king and queen have the bands of their choice to accompany their floats. Queen Zulu is a current student and they were the band she chose to make history with The main reviewing area for VIP guests is where this was recorded. The crowd is mixed there. What was played was a portion of their pregame routine. It was relatable to many of the LSU fans in the area. They did play some other stuff during the route. Southern does not do Zulu every year never has.
I liked Booker T. Washington! They got that soul! I also heard them in the east at parade on Crowder blvd. I was visiting and heard them while I was out for a walk. They were in an area where they could have skated (not tried) be they brought that funk! Rebuild and stop worrying about how many people you have, you just “do you” to the fullest!
It's possible that SU gave LSU their place because they have to prepare for the Rose Bowl in 2020 and that's going to take alot. That's one offer you don't get alot.
Most of these bands have a pretty sloppy presentation but props to the ones who stayed uniform the entire time. Plus whoever tuned and put the drum heads on all of these bass drums should be fired. All in all these bands were very enjoyable to watch.
Visited New Orleans from California. I went to the Zulu parade on Claiborne Ave south. It was horrible!!!!! I've never been to a parade where it started 2 hours late and there was a 30 min pause in between floats. The Zulu people didn't throw anything to the kids, and would pretend to throw thing but wouldn't. It was a horrible experience
Apparently you NEVER did your research On Mardi Gras parades. The parades start Uptown and travel at least 10 miles and ALWAYS start on time. The Zulu parade started on time and was ON TIME when it hit Orleans 2 hours later. I don't know how you think a 40 plus float parade, bands, dance teams, walking units cars etc could get ANYWHERE in 10 minutes. If you didn't talk to a local who would have offered you food, drink and a good time, that's on you. We set up the night before with canopy tents, food, drink and have a BALL.
Mohammed Humza the majority of bands that you see are called show bands. You see the drum major styles are what you see in HBCU marching bands. It’s different from what you are use to, not weird, different. Search for Southern Human Jukebox, Jackson State, NCAT and Norfolk State to see throughly entertaining, skilled musicians and show band moves.

When I was a young boy my father took me into the city to see a marching band

SOY IN BRASIL ESPIRITO SANTO - VITORIA - ES
That Bon Jovi by TC was pretty good. Need more classic rock like that to be played by HBCU's.
Ra's Al-Xander they’ve been playing it all year, and rightfully so
Su played in 2009 but TC sound like shit
A good dance line will save a band ... IMO
Ok what I dont get why is LSU's drummajor in front the flag girls directing the band like they can see him all the way up there thru the flags
I was trying to figure that out myself lol...FAILED
They are also playing like they are in the 4th Quarter of a Football game up by 30 points...owell its they 1st go round...someone get them a memo lol
The same way Talladega drum majors were in front of the dance team
@@peppaboy9 exactly I been seen that but i didnt want to say anything else lol
You do realize that all drum majors aren't needed in parades. Most drumlines play based on the percussion and when they decide to roll off.
Thank you for sharing this with us!
28:05 is it just me or they holding the sticks wrong
Now that’s the Awesomeness ✊🏽🙌🏽🤛🏽
I'm still tryna wrap my hands around The Golden Band From Tigerland(LSU) and not The Humanjukebox(Southern) marching in the ZULU... 😲🐅🎷🎺🥁😁💯
Su only was doing bacchus this year for some reason
The Zulu Queen is a student at LSU and choose the band to accompany her float. I understood SU was at the Rex parade and marched in Zulu last year
It's possible that SU gave LSU their place because they have to prepare for the Rose Bowl in 2020 and that's going to take alot.

jerome watts they were able to have Mardi Gras off a little bit this year and enjoy
@@ljsmixbox44 STOP IT. SU marched Sunday night at Bacchus... LMAO 🐅🥁🎺💯

The directors and students at talladega all need to be fired for perpetuating this horrible version of “good” playing.
