Bio-Roxas could be but the light of the past is thousand of keyblade chosen ones and the whole thing in the game about seven lights it doesn't add up well
I think it's worth mentioning how a lot of this formchange seems to be somewhat inspired by aspects of the Armiger system from Final Fantasy XV. The teleporting, the summoning weapons out of nowhere, the weapons barrages, and especially the way that guarding works. This could all be connected to a larger discussion of how there are FF XV inspirations and elements littered throughout the whole game of KH3 (ingredients/food cooking and buffs, taking photos, Ultimate Form, and of course the obvious Yozora/Verum Rex stuff, as well as Riku's blatant Noctis-look). Considering how XV and KH3 were sibling titles under Nomura at one point, it's not too far fetched to argue that Nomura put a little bit of both titles into each other while he was working on them, though XV clearly became more of it's own thing by the time Nomura left the project. It feels really fitting.
I love ultimate form, it’s my favorite go to form. On a side note, has anyone else noticed that Balder from Bayonetta 2 has similar abilities to Sora and Noctis. Cuz they all use the power of light, can summon weapons of light from thin air, can summon powerful allies, move via teleport/temporal control, and wield elemental magic. I don’t know I just thought it’s cool cuz they all follow the warrior of light theme, even though Bayonetta is not related to square enix and Disney.
Also worth mentioning is that this form likely takes a lot of inspiration from Final Form, Dual Wield Roxas, and Ventus's Wingblade Command Style, as they all include quick relentless spinning strikes, light beam/pillar effects, and multiple blades of light. Even Sora's third combo finisher resembles Ven's finishing move in Wingblade where he summons multiple blades and strikes them down in a similar fashion, as well as the Faithblade and Salvation Deck Commands that both Ven and Sora can do. And again, there's all those Armiger influences from Final Fantasy XV in there too.
Just came across this video and the cool thing is I see nods to the journey Sora has taken through all of KH. For example colors, attacks, symbols and also a nod to his “brother” Noctis which I think is very clever.
Seeing this much attention to detail in each one of these forms through out this series makes me yearn for only one thing. Keyblade transformations for every keyblade in the past games.
Did you notice that in the finisher, the blades of light lodge themselves into the ground. It reminds me strikingly of the Keyblade Graveyard, like Sora is creating his own temporary one. That finisher also makes me think of the scene at the end when he received help from the light of the past and was riding a storm of keyblades. Just something to note.
Square puts waaaaaay too much detail into each form and I love it. Blades of light designs are gorgeous, and I love the 7 lights at the end cuz it's like 7 guardians of light or 7 princesses of light
His shotlock and finisher reminds me of Trinity Limit due to some of the resemblances, most notably for me, the magic circle and explosions of light that deals heavy damage.
Pretty sure the crystals in this form represent either the new princesses of light’s heath or the seven keyblade wielders of light. (Or they can be the 7 Orichalcum+ needed to craft the damn thing)
Dude, thank you for your in depth analysis of Ultimate Form! I love how this form performs and how you noted the magic symbols used both going into it and when attacking in this form. Especially the Limit Break and Shot Lock.
Well KH takes his magic from the FF universe kinda. The circles sora and mickey cast are both high-level light magic(ultima being a powerful light-type magic in every FF to date), makes a lot of sense to me that they look the same.
Ultimate Form’s basic attacks when Sora dashes forward with his blades following him is similar to the Ventus’s Fever Pitch when Ventus charges himself before marching forward. The finisher of the Ultimate Form is similar to Ventus’s Wingblade finisher when Ventus’s six blades fall into the ground creating a circle, and also the ball of Light that is created by the six blades of Ventus’s are similar to Ultimate Form’s shotlock when summoning an orb of light. One last thing is the teleportation of Ultimate Form is similar to Roxas’s teleportation when fighting him, they both turn into lights that move to the destination.
This is what KHIII is missing. Post-game super bosses that act like Sora in Final Form. That... and a tournament. If they ever release a tournament as part of the upcoming DLC, it needs to go beyond level 99 too. Maybe not Sora, but the enemies do.
Kyro Lazioko YES Square should take notes from tri-Ace rpgs such as Star Ocean,Valkyrie Profile,Radiata Stories, etc. and make extra dungeons for post game content. This could be a boss rush leading to a superboss or several floors with extra content based on the lore of the story of the main game, having bosses you fought before, characters who could have joined you but didn’t,characters from past games join you, characters from other square games, fighting bosses who you never had the chance to face (altogether or just controlling another character),fighting bosses from other square games, etc. the sky is the limit with what they could include in KH3’s post game dungeon.
The columns on the finisher that go outwards always reminds me of Roxas finisher move on 352/2 days, and also that one move on his boss battle in KHII in which he summons pillars and shoots at you.
I like videos like this as the transformation usually happens too fast and I can't be bothered recording and slowing down the footage myself. Probably the biggest thing I did not know was that the blade seperates into three parts when transforming.
Hey, I think that I may be wrong. But doesn't Sora's clothes change with the keyblade transformation during the Olympus tutorial too? Since New game plus gives you all your keyblades, I mean.
@@Luchux177 The Clothes dont change but Sora gets the Ultima Sword Thats it, i think because you are not supossed to have the Ultima Keyblade so didnt gave Sora a Texture For an Ultima Form With his KH2 Outfit thats my Guess.
Ultimate Form? I think you mean Final Form with an actual fucking sword. I also like the believe that the crystals are also symbolic of Hearts, but instead of the ones inside Sora, they're symbolic of those CONNECTED to him. Seven crystals of light? Seven Guardians of Light.
Those chains are resembling of Terranorts chains when he is holding Aqua and Ven. Also, Terra Chains look like that, he spawned them in BBS 0.2 fragmentary passage.
When the update came out, i had my hopes high up because i thought Sora with the KH2 outfit’s Ultimate Form is gonna wear like, Final Form costume or something. Only to find out he doesn’t have any costume in any formchanges OOF
I feel like its because final form feels more solid compared to ultimate form. I wish the original team that made kh1 and 2 would remake 3 lol. But thats just wishful thinking
@@jonatassilva2605 didn't say you needed it. But it made kh 2 very fun to play. It was also a nice detail that the moves had a different colour after what 2 keyblades you had equipped. @@BioRoxas That's not all though, imo ALL form changes FELL more powerful then base form. If they are or not gameplay wise I'll leave to others to decide, but this one? It feels powerful and clearly IS so, it's really hard to make a character feel OP in a game, while respecting the gameplay mechanics, this one does that!
Alt. Breakdown: P.8. (Ultimate Form) This is the Alt. Colour used for the Player 8 slot in Ultimate. Based off of Ultimate Form from Kingdom Hearts III, it has the same features: The tiger stripe on the trousers, The crown symbols on the shoulders, and the black and white design. Unfortunately, this does not change your keyblade into the Ultima Weapon or the Ultimate Form sword.
I did a little digging after you mentioning the chains looking familiar, and I agree they do, and there look like a more elongated version of the Acrisius and the Cosmic chain armor accessories. I think there might be others too but that's what I've found so far.
1:45 I always thought that “netting” design was meant to kinda resemble the green side parts of the X-blade. Like the Ultima Weapon is like an artificial or unfinished X-blade
No yeah I got that. I just mean that the ultima-weapon could be the closest thing to an actual copy of the X-blade rather than just being designed off of it like the others
Love how magic circles are being used more. Normally theyre a bit boring for me but i feel they do them in a way that tickles my brain in the KH series
This is by far the best Formchange, both look-wise and power-wise. As I'm going through the Critical Mode with the New Game+, I love using this Keyblade, since it truly helps dealing with difficult bosses; and obviously, it's just epic revisiting every world with this beautiful Keyblade. Great work as always!
@@MrRobot-0 I kinda wish New Game + would have nerfed Ultima Weapon so that it's at level 3, if only just to give us a reason to collect the Orichalcum+ again (as materials to level it up. It could start with having Attack and Magic at 7 and level up to 13 when maxed, thereby also having the "seven and 13" theme Nomura loves.
@@MrRobot-0 No, it doesn't. They default to whatever they where when you first got them and you when you first get Ultima, ita already maxed. Trust me, I started a New Game+ and Ultima was already at level 10. Maybe they go to level 1 on Critical, but that would make it a feature of that difficulty, not NG+
A note on the chains and the crystals; I imagine they are... Chains of Memories? Seeing as in the KH universe, chains to hearts seem to be a mark of mastery, maybe THE mark of mastery. Hence, ultimate form. The red crystals in Rage mode are likely the heart/s keeping Sora from just going full on Heartless. And obviously, in Ultimate Form, there are multiple crystals representing the various hearts of his friends. His friends ARE his power after all.
You know. Since each blade in Ultimate weapon animations have a unique desing and they apear at random, it would had been cool if the desing of the swords were inspired by a theme, like the guardians of light for exemple
In which the KH3 Ultima Form is just Nomura being salty about Versus XIII, and Yozora and his friends are... also just Nomura being salty about Versus XIII
It's just a wild guess, but maybe the seven light crystals are a nod to the old seven hearts of light? Or a better explanation being that they symbolize seven blades of light to counteract the 13 blades of darkness? I dunno, it's just a guess anyways.
I always thought the Shotlock explosion with circles of light was similar to Sora using Trinity Limit in KH1/COM. In those games both are massive area of effect damage attacks with a blinding light unleashing which usually kill everything in a mob fight but required Sora to have Donald and Goofy with him to do it where as Ultima Shotlock has him do it on his own. I imagine it's actually the same or just very similar techniques as they both involve circles being summoned before making a huge explosion but in KH1 he was still really inexperienced and needed his friends connection to unlock it to use even a fraction of it's power. Ultimate Form being used by an older more experienced Sora can actually use it's full potential so it's much larger, more powerful and can be used by Sora even when fighting alone.
Its the thirds time than i wacht this and i think maybe the seven sword are the seven ultimas keyblade of the other games, o perhaps represent 7 hearts of the people there are conected with sora. Like ventus, roxas, xion, donald, goofy, mickey, riku and kairi. Sorry for my bad english. 😅
I think the crystals that appear at 10:27 are associated with the seven guardians of light. I might be wrong on this, but from what I counted, there are 7 crystals that appear during the ShotLock.
10:23 these chins are from the after terranort fight when he captured ven and aqua The different between them are justthe colors Terranort use black and sora white
I could be wrong, but are the chains ones that you would break in Dream Drop Distance? I remember for the special move you had to slash trough chains with your key blade at weak points, and there were a few different chain designs.
Did you know the swords represent each and every ultima weapon in the franchise and all the games that are in the franchise as well KH1 Kh bbs Kh2 Kh com Kh recoded Kh ddd Kh days Kh3
If you can find evidence for that please send it over! I looked at the ultima weapons from kingdom hearts and final fantasy and couldn’t find anything that matched up though I could be wrong ^^
@@BioRoxas well i theorize this because i say every game that is currently in the franchise as you said there are eight different games before kh 3 (not count remix)
I do remember their being chains on the wall of LOD when ventus was sleepin and on the wall in xemnas secret little room with aqua's gear, oh and I cant forget when terranort used them when fighting sora, aqua and ventus and last but not least when terra's lingering will used them to stop terranort from escaping. "YOUR BODY SUBMITS, YOUR HEART SUCCUMBS, SO WHY DOES YOUR MIND RESIST!"
Here comes a thought, The Eight Blades are allusions of The Master of Masters, The Foretellers, Luxu, and Ventus. Because one of the blades looks like an updated version of the Wingblade style command from Birth By Sleep. It would make since.
The thingy in the room with Young Xehanort and Young Eraqus is supposed to be a device to measure wind It was stated in an Ultimania Interview, sadly I don't remember which one

Considering how XV and KH3 were sibling titles under Nomura at one point, it's not too far fetched to argue that Nomura put a little bit of both titles into each other while he was working on them, though XV clearly became more of it's own thing by the time Nomura left the project. It feels really fitting.
7:12 Also this effect is really similar to Ventus’s finisher with Wingblade.
Oh really? Good eye!
The form overall feels like a cross between KH2 Final Form and BBS Wingblade.
Wing Blade was awesome!
I love how everything in kingdom hearts is just so... Dream like... Just concentrated fantasy joy
It comes together beautifully not always but when it does damn it is an epos
7:59 Mans thought we wouldn't find out how he got to the shibuya district
Seeing this much attention to detail in each one of these forms through out this series makes me yearn for only one thing.
Keyblade transformations for every keyblade in the past games.
Did you notice that in the finisher, the blades of light lodge themselves into the ground. It reminds me strikingly of the Keyblade Graveyard, like Sora is creating his own temporary one. That finisher also makes me think of the scene at the end when he received help from the light of the past and was riding a storm of keyblades.
Just something to note.
I did notice!
Interesting theory! I wonder if that gives more evidence for these blades being tied to the past?
Square puts waaaaaay too much detail into each form and I love it. Blades of light designs are gorgeous, and I love the 7 lights at the end cuz it's like 7 guardians of light or 7 princesses of light
His shotlock and finisher reminds me of Trinity Limit due to some of the resemblances, most notably for me, the magic circle and explosions of light that deals heavy damage.
tl;dw magic circles
Pretty sure the crystals in this form represent either the new princesses of light’s heath or the seven keyblade wielders of light.
(Or they can be the 7 Orichalcum+ needed to craft the damn thing)
More like Formchange Breakdown: OP Form.
It damn well should be. This thing is incredibly tedious to get!
Dude, thank you for your in depth analysis of Ultimate Form! I love how this form performs and how you noted the magic symbols used both going into it and when attacking in this form. Especially the Limit Break and Shot Lock.
You’re welcome ^^ glad you enjoyed it!
Sora's dodge reminds me of Riku's except its light.
Also i'd just call the magic circles and stuff "ultima magic" since its basically just as powerful
I think someone else was telling me that it is technically a "summoning circle"!
Well KH takes his magic from the FF universe kinda. The circles sora and mickey cast are both high-level light magic(ultima being a powerful light-type magic in every FF to date), makes a lot of sense to me that they look the same.
Great, now I want Sora to have a Light Roll where he "melts" into light like Riku does into darkness with Dark Roll.
Take a shot every time he says "magic circle"
No don’t!! You’ll get too wasted :
Basic description of ultima shotlock:
A freaking nuke made of light
IT HAS ARRIVED the best keyblade
I like videos like this as the transformation usually happens too fast and I can't be bothered recording and slowing down the footage myself. Probably the biggest thing I did not know was that the blade seperates into three parts when transforming.
My friend describes Ultimate Form as the unholy love child of Wing Blade Command Style and Final Form. My favorite style Ever!
Been enjoying this in Proud Mode. It's amazing. Its Finisher and Shotlock wreck everything's shit.
ultima weapon is so satisfying to play, and the amount of details is helping that feeling
Thank you everyone so much for watching :) I have had so much fun with this series and I hope you all enjoyed watching!
Thanks Bio. Can't wait to see what you do next!
Not gonna lie the chains from the Shotlock kinda look like the ones the xehanort attacks you with in his final kh2 fight
I have finished critical mode
Hey, I think that I may be wrong. But doesn't Sora's clothes change with the keyblade transformation during the Olympus tutorial too? Since New game plus gives you all your keyblades, I mean.
@@Luchux177 The Clothes dont change but Sora gets the Ultima Sword Thats it, i think because you are not supossed to have the Ultima Keyblade so didnt gave Sora a Texture For an Ultima Form With his KH2 Outfit thats my Guess.
This is the level of detail I've been looking for. Amazin stuff
Oh thank you :') That means so much to hear
Ultimate Form?
I think you mean Final Form with an actual fucking sword.
I also like the believe that the crystals are also symbolic of Hearts, but instead of the ones inside Sora, they're symbolic of those CONNECTED to him.
Seven crystals of light? Seven Guardians of Light.
Ya I can definitely see that!! Makes a ton of sense!
Ultimate form and rage form are upgraded versions of their KH2 counterparts. And you're right.
The combos remind me of Rage form just less edgy
Those chains are resembling of Terranorts chains when he is holding Aqua and Ven. Also, Terra Chains look like that, he spawned them in BBS 0.2 fragmentary passage.
what the heck!
i needed this!
thanks for your hard work!
Sora’s Outfit on his ultimate form looks like Roxas’s.
He looks like a zebra man.
I mean xemnas at least had some cool shapes going on but sora just has black stripes on white clothing.
I look at this form and all these attacks. I stop and think,DANG DEVS! YOU ALL WENT ALL OUT IN THIS ONE!
When the update came out, i had my hopes high up because i thought Sora with the KH2 outfit’s Ultimate Form is gonna wear like, Final Form costume or something. Only to find out he doesn’t have any costume in any formchanges OOF
Me too!! :< I was a little disappointed with that
Best breakdown ever!
😎
Cool man!
Very complete, nice job!
Thank you ^^
Personally, I like Final Form better, but it's nice to see influences from other characters in Ultimate Form.
I feel like its because final form feels more solid compared to ultimate form. I wish the original team that made kh1 and 2 would remake 3 lol. But thats just wishful thinking
Yea the dual wielding of keylades and evolved magic spells made it awesome. Also the flying and cool movements.
@@cokeeeater lol who needs dual wielding when you can use ALL keyblades at the same time - Sora with the Ultima Blade
@@jonatassilva2605 didn't say you needed it. But it made kh 2 very fun to play. It was also a nice detail that the moves had a different colour after what 2 keyblades you had equipped. Also as I said I liked that final form made your magic spell different and made your keyblades attack together with the magic
I like Final Form too but its pretty floaty if you are trying to lock on and stay locked on a boss battle. In KH2FM i prefer using Limit Form.
This is it we all been waiting for!!!Ultra Instict of Sora(Should I call him as a god in this game)
Naisuu for breakdown man!!!Love it🔥🔥🔥and not forget either
Crongrats Bio-Roxas for 3000 subscribers🎉🎉Dude you really deserve it by all your hard work from the start till now👏👏Proud with you man also keep it up😉
Thanks man! ^^ ya this formchange is incredibly powerful!!
I was surprised no one mentioned Ventus's final move sets that are super similar to this. Salvation, Faith, and Winglblade form might be relevent here
The chains look similar to the thorns Xehanort throws out in the KH2 final boss battle to me.
Alt. Breakdown: P.8. (Ultimate Form)
This is the Alt. Colour used for the Player 8 slot in Ultimate.
Based off of Ultimate Form from Kingdom Hearts III, it has the same features:
The tiger stripe on the trousers,
The crown symbols on the shoulders,
and the black and white design.
Unfortunately, this does not change your keyblade into the Ultima Weapon or the Ultimate Form sword.
You forgot to mention the similarities Ultima Form and the circled Xehanort uses with the X-Blade have.
I looked into it and didn’t see anything with the attacks!
I wasn’t even thinking about the magic circle he summons :/ sorry!
@@BioRoxas yeah, the final battle is even on a circle like the on Sora summons in the finisher or his shotlock
Really sorry! I remember your comment from before but I was only focused on the attacks :
I did a little digging after you mentioning the chains looking familiar, and I agree they do, and there look like a more elongated version of the Acrisius and the Cosmic chain armor accessories. I think there might be others too but that's what I've found so far.
Wow thank you!! I appreciate you looking into it some more c:
Basically Noctis 2.0.
FF XV-2 Confir-
Am I the only one who thinks Sora’s Ultimate Form dodge looks like he’s “Going Ghost?” =)
Monster Form Sora in Ultimate Form has crowns on the shoulders of the jacket.
Yup! That’s what I meant by they have the same jacket!
@@BioRoxas I was just pointing it out cause I like the crowns in that form. :3
Oh gotcha! I just like clearing stuff up in case it didn’t come across well in the video.
@@BioRoxas No, no, no it's my fault for not being clear in my comment. XD Amazing job as always btw!!!! 💙
The blades reminds me of Ventus' Wingblades from BBS
I'll have to see what kind of design those wingblades are!
This form is a HUGE reference for Armiger from Final Fantasy XV.
Vs13
Zemo M.A. they’re both the same but the one with the Symbols is from VSXIII not just that but it’s also Armiger Unleashed.
@@HupCapNinja they're not.
The stories are different and the characters are different as well.
And the gameplay.
Sora is noctis when noctis was asleep gathering power.
1:45 I always thought that “netting” design was meant to kinda resemble the green side parts of the X-blade.
Like the Ultima Weapon is like an artificial or unfinished X-blade
That's the thing though; _every keyblade ever_ is an artificial X-blade. That's why they were made.
No yeah I got that. I just mean that the ultima-weapon could be the closest thing to an actual copy of the X-blade rather than just being designed off of it like the others
@@tharkflark1
Ah! I see.
Love how magic circles are being used more. Normally theyre a bit boring for me but i feel they do them in a way that tickles my brain in the KH series
Cool!!! Nice works dude! Keep it up!
Thanks c: I appreciate it!
I kinda held back on this one aside from troublesome mob figths during the story due it being too good.
I think my favorite thing is seeing the ultima weapon in cutscenes!
@@stevenhiggins3055 well actualy ng+ level all wapeon including ultima to lvl 1
@@MrRobot-0 No, it doesn't. They default to whatever they where when you first got them and you when you first get Ultima, ita already maxed. Trust me, I started a New Game+ and Ultima was already at level 10.
Maybe they go to level 1 on Critical, but that would make it a feature of that difficulty, not NG+
chains are from the Acrisius equipment.
This is so well researched! Had to subscribe! :D
GET OUT OF THE WAY HYUCK
I SEE INGREDIENTS
10:26 they resemble the chains from Sora’s reality shift in The World that Never Was in Dream Drop Distance.
You know. Since each blade in Ultimate weapon animations have a unique desing and they apear at random, it would had been cool if the desing of the swords were inspired by a theme, like the guardians of light for exemple
Right? That would have been awesome!
In which the KH3 Ultima Form is just Nomura being salty about Versus XIII, and Yozora and his friends are... also just Nomura being salty about Versus XIII
This was hell to obtain but so well worth it.
Ultimate Form being used by an older more experienced Sora can actually use it's full potential so it's much larger, more powerful and can be used by Sora even when fighting alone.
those chains look like the chains you have to cut to trigger the fusion keyblade attack in dreamdropdistance (as sora)
Holy hell, good catch
There's so much that goes into these forms while I'm like "ooh pretty lights"
Awesome breakdown!
My favorite form definetly gives me Sword art Online Vibes, btw awesome new Outro.
Ya it’s an awesome form! C:
Thanks!
The chains look similar to the Acrisius armor in kh2. It's not a perfect match but it is possibly what you thought it looked similar to.
That's definitely possible! Thanks for the heads up c:
I think the crystals that appear at 10:27 are associated with the seven guardians of light. I might be wrong on this, but from what I counted, there are 7 crystals that appear during the ShotLock.
10:23 these chins are from the after terranort fight when he captured ven and aqua
The different between them are justthe colors
Terranort use black and sora white
Hats off to whoever choreographs the Kingdom Hearts games
I could be wrong, but are the chains ones that you would break in Dream Drop Distance? I remember for the special move you had to slash trough chains with your key blade at weak points, and there were a few different chain designs.
Did you know the swords represent each and every ultima weapon in the franchise and all the games that are in the franchise as well
KH1
Kh bbs
Kh2
Kh com
Kh recoded
Kh ddd
Kh days
Kh3
If you can find evidence for that please send it over! I looked at the ultima weapons from kingdom hearts and final fantasy and couldn’t find anything that matched up though I could be wrong ^^
@@BioRoxas well i theorize this because i say every game that is currently in the franchise as you said there are eight different games before kh 3 (not count remix)
Ooh my bad! I misunderstood ^^
Except, there was no Ultima Weapon in Days, Roxas had Omega Weapon instead
@@stevenhiggins3055 sorry i didnt play all games
But i still need to find out why there is 8 swords and what they all represent
The crystals represent the beads in Indra's net.
A metaphor synonymous with Kingdom Hearts if ever there was one.
Oh I’ll check that out! Thank you!!
@@BioRoxas no probs
Here comes a thought, The Eight Blades are allusions of The Master of Masters, The Foretellers, Luxu, and Ventus. Because one of the blades looks like an updated version of the Wingblade style command from Birth By Sleep. It would make since.
The thingy in the room with Young Xehanort and Young Eraqus is supposed to be a device to measure wind
It was stated in an Ultimania Interview, sadly I don't remember which one
I loved that little "i see ingredients" at the start
