Moab is an amazing place. Closing over 300 miles of trails will potentially put a lot more stress on the existing trails that remain open. That additional traffic will provide evidence for BLM to close more trails. Thank you for the fight as I can see this getting worse in the future.

The problem is these people closing down areas are unelected bureaucrats and the stay in place regardless of the administration.
maybe talk to a ADA attorney about access for those that are disabled, and only can get to those areas with a vehicle due to mobility issues.
I totally agree with the ADA premise (and even beyond a disability, public access via roads allows everyone an equal opportunity), but I have never seen an ADA argument litigated to keep roads and trails from being closed. ADA as written is really reserved for commercial operations and public spaces (municipality). It is an area we keep watching, however, because a recent executive order required The Agencies to expand recreation for underserved groups, but this same administration put those in charge of BLM in place.
Thank you to you all, the Blue Ribbon Collation, the Off Road Business Association and all those continuing the good fight to save access to our public lands.
The off-road community needs to better unite. We need a win ... precedent for these agencies is that they can close off resources with little to no repercussion. Something needs to give ....

All off road people need to unite 100% This has been a slow process that put people in charge that hate what we do. Look back the last 25 years all of Government has been trying to take our rights away . So remember in November Vote!

I presume you are working with organizations like the Blue Ribbon Coalition. How about large legal organizations such as the Pacific Legal Foundation or Mountain States Legal Foundation? Are they willing to get on board ? Or already on board?
@carlatamanczyk3891 We do work with BRC on a number of issues and have been in contact with them during the entire Moab process. I don't have direct experience with PLF but Mountain States has represented the TPA on some issues in Colorado very recently. Not sure how this is going to shake out long-term after the IBLA process, it's likely this issue will end up as a legal complain in federal court. All our complaints could at some point be combined into a single legal challenge.
Still plenty of people running these trails….and they will continue too…
#1 I would advise DIRECTLY reaching out to republican presidential candidates. Everyone knows in the offroad community, most people already lean right of the fence"... someone like a presidential candidate should absolutely be aware of this and tackle this with brute force as soon as they get into office.
#2 Have you considered that this closure may have absolutely nothing at all to do with offroaders... rather a bigger plan coming into effect. Bear with me... and trust me you may very well want to contact your lawyer about it. In 1940s BLM proposed construction of 2 dams. Dewey Dam that would flood entire Hwy 128 due north. Dark Canyon Reservoir would flood basically Bears Ears, Needles, Confluence of Green River and Colorado. If they were to build those 2 dams, all of the water would rise and flood places like Hey Joe, Labyrinth, Hell Roaring etc. All of that would be flooded. In fact if you look at a map of where 317 miles of off roads are... and imagine general basin from Dark Canyon up the river past Moab to Dewey Bridge and beyond... all that could be pretty darn flooded, Moab moved up to higher ground and water capture area would generate additional capacity to help resolve water swings downstream at Glen and Hoover Dams.
Your lawyer needs to very seriously look into this because while this was kicked around and discarded in 1940s... they are desperate for water and off roading to them is of lesser significance than green lawns in Phoenix and Las Vegas.
You do all the Stewardship work then Texas Bob and California Carl drive into Moab on vacation. Unload their OHV from their trailer. Fill a cooler with beer, then go out and do whatever they want. "I'm entitled ta do what I want... muh freedums"

You can not kiss enough government a$$ to get them to do the right thing.The government has one priority in all of it's endeavors. The priority is to protect and expand it's own power. That's it. Once you understand this everything becomes clear.
You are spot on, with your assessment. This was never an objective process to find meaningful conclusions.
The historic problem is this is now government land controlled by special anti human special inter groups. The original legal intent was to get government land distributed to private persons and put to productive use. Northwest Ordinance 1787. If it is not going to be hiked, ridden or driven, mined or farmed sell it to someone who will.
we will never have the money these groups get and I would ask who are the people pumping these billions into a particular course? Its not these groups, its someone with very deep pockets and really poor intent. Its no longer public land if it is picking and choosing so why play their game? The fact there is politics involved in this issue should express something is very wrong. How much wilderness is needed in this country, what is the line, when is it enough, what portion of this country should be wilderness? Why cant this have an answer? One thing I have seen in the last 50 years is manipulation on OHV and there has come a time when I had to STOP playing the stupid game where we have to spend countless hours to save ourselves when by enlarge we usually loose. Poor management is a thing and BLM has a poor record and its no wonder because of the amount of money that goes into appose us.
Cliff is a mole. Another east coast tourist that never left. Cliff is hurting the dirt bike community. None of your organizations are doing anything of substance. Your on your heals fighting what has already happened. The biggest problem is population. The desert cannot sustain a large population. The problem is tourism and tourists that don’t leave.
You continue propagating the overuse issue near Moab and other easy access points to BLM. That's not what happened in the latest decision, however. Several routes BLM cited as 'seldom used' and 'naturally reclaiming' contradict your assertion. We are fighting within the appeal phase because the party in the white house pushed the decision (it's contrary to everything in the Resource Management Plan) through political means. Your opinion of other people doesn't matter, but thanks for commenting to help the metrics and that popularity of this video.

What no one understands is the amount of traffic that is out there… and believe me on your side we are becoming selfish because no matter how much I want to be out there we still have to consider the wild life. People are moving into the mountains and where are are animals going live… at Trump Towers? I’m not a tree hugger but we have to be realistic on what is enough, I would rather see wildlife running around that people running amok
LOL. You are a tree hugger. What is enough? Unfortunately, to much of OUR land is already closed off. We need more land available not less.
That's the argument the green movement uses.This video addresses the issues. The trail advocates are promoting responsible use. It doesn't have to be the kind of either-or result you are fearing. The green movement is not going to stop taking away land from use; it's part of Project Wildlands which gives animals all the "rights." These are extremists who don't know how to be good stewards but want to cut off the land from everybody (except government employees).
This has nothing to do with wildlife in Moab.

Patrick McKay does, Marcus does, I do, and numerous others that drove these trails before they were closed. There was NO overcrowding, NO trash, NO off trail marks on these trails. These were some of the most unproblematic trails I’ve been on in Moab. I also have a zoology degree and biology doctorate… such bs to use wildlife as an argument here. However they knew saying that would get people who didn’t know these trails onboard with closing them.
