Started going to flea markets by myself when I was 10-11 years old in the early 1980's.
That command sgt major one is CRAZY rare
There's plenty of 1 star, 2 star and Command Sgt Major presentation coins. So, whoever collected those was either a rockstar Soldier, a high-ranking individual, or was involved in senior leadership planning/admin activities. As a challenge coin collector myself, I can see most of the situations where those exchanges would have taken place. You should be able to get quite a bit as you put these up. But this is a year old, so I hope you did well!
nice lot
Very cool collection... Well done sir... You certainly might have a jewel in the lot... Stay safe... 👍💕🔥💯
Hey there! I love that 7th infantry coin you got there!
I've been a coin designer for a long time. These are pretty old coins. I'd say mid 80's early 90's.
Another great find.. Thank you for sharing...
So cool!
Every single one presented by a specific sergeant or officer are rare.
Totally on a guess. First off I am assuming the person who had all these was not just a coin collector. If they were then all bets are off as to what follows. I would say whomever these coins belonged to, they were an enlisted Sr. NCO (most likely retired); came out of the career INTEL community; did some time in Germany at some point in their career. Either during their military service or in post-military life, they worked with/for CTR's developing and/or fielding new INTEL systems /hardware--which would be a fairly typical career progression track for a person who made the military a career and who stayed in primarily one military "community" from start to finish and possibly into a post retirement civilian career as well.
Oh, btw, just FYI, you pronounce it as "COM - A - DON -T" (as in head (leader) of a military school, or POW Camp), not "Command - ENT" or "Commandment" which is Biblical term and for which there are ten (10) of.
Wow... great coins.. if you have spare coins could we do a trade sir?
