Great question. I have a video coming soon on this topic. It’s not currently possible in PP to change just one slide without changing them all, however, there is a handy little workaround you can do, which I’ll reveal soon. Be sure to sub to the channel so you’re notified when the video is live!
I followed these instructions to change the orientation of the first page of my document. However, doing so added a "bonus" blank page after the section break that I cannot delete. Is there any way to get rid of it?
That’s maybe because you could have inserted an off page section break (or an even one). This will insert a blank page if need be depending on your document. Try to ‘next page’ section break instead. It’s difficult to help without seeing you document but I think this may be the issue!
i have done this and it does work however when adding a table of context or page no. it starts back at page 0 or page 1... this then ruins the table of context... is there a work around for this.
You should be able to click on the page numbers, then choose format page numbers from the top menu and choose ‘start at’ and select the number you want? Hope that helps!
Sorry to hear this. If you've followed the steps exactly then it should work, so best to revisit and check that you've got your section breaks in the right place etc. Obviously, without seeing your document it's hard to tell what the issue is or what's causing it, but with these steps followed to the letter, it should work fine! :)
Thanks for your comment. It sounds super complicated because working with section breaks without Microsoft Word isn’t necessarily a straightforward process…hence why this query is one of the most commonly asked by Word users!
I think it’s important to provide background information on the concepts rather than just jump straight into a tutorial. Believe it or not, not everyone watches videos to just get the information as quickly as they can. Sometimes, people want to learn the WHY not just the HOW. In my experience of teaching section breaks, explaining how they work and when to use them is critical to help the user’s understanding and make it easier for them when using them in the future. Anyway, there are many positive comments on the video, so I’ll not lose sleep over your negative comment.
Yup, but remember there are usually other ways to do things in Microsoft products so there’s probably a short cut in a newer version. Will look into it!
lazy people like me go file then page setup then put your navigator the point you want to start then selected landscape then change the page attributes into work then selected apply section and select from this point onward, for non mac computers are more easier than this. remember this for people who look for shortcuts.. kkk

Easy enough to follow but how do we keep our page numbers with this technique?
I followed these instructions to change the orientation of the first page of my document. However, doing so added a "bonus" blank page after the section break that I cannot delete. Is there any way to get rid of it?

How about header page numbers. It breaks down at the portrait
Works in the same way except you need to break the link to headers before you add them.
i have done this and it does work however when adding a table of context or page no. it starts back at page 0 or page 1... this then ruins the table of context... is there a work around for this.

Hello,
I followed your instructions, but I faced an issue with the number of pages!!!
so, it didn't work.
Thank you.

@@Andy_Todd I found a much easier way 😅
@@millier9658 That's okay Millie. More than one way of doing most things in MS Word. At least you've got there in the end.
@@Andy_Todd thank you :)
you talk too much.. why just cant jump directly to the process

What a joke that it is this lengthy to perform such a simple task, come on Microsoft!
Yup, but remember there are usually other ways to do things in Microsoft products so there’s probably a short cut in a newer version. Will look into it!
