A very good point that Jamal (Samuel) makes is that people remember and celebrate Freddie's music and the man himself and don't simply see him as being symbolic of the illness.
Freddie was unique, a real person, and a great personality and talent , not representative of an "illness"!
I read Freddie's sister has 2 adopted children. I guess this guy adopted his mannerisms. And possibly they're adopted from their original country.

He does share some physical characteristics with Freddie, as well as that gentle and polite manner. One possibility might be that he was born into/ adopted from the British Indian Parsee community, so he would have some genetic similarities with his new family. If you look at photos online of groups of Parsees, they all have that jet black hair, relatively pale, smooth skin, often quite fine features, and bright, dark eyes. Just a thought, anyway.

I can quite believe that Freddie Mercury was a very generous person.
Money was not his God, although he made plenty of it.
He was a very generous man. He loved buying gifts for people, then watching their expressions as they would open them. It gave him great joy to do this. And the gifts he chose were tasteful and sometimes quite expensive.
He wasn't always wealthy. When I chanced to meet him back in the summer of '73, he explained to me how he was impoverished and up to his neck in debt! As a result he was having to work two jobs in a market, as well as all the band / recording stuff. Perhaps he remembered that time as he got older, and that made him more kind and considerate to others not so blessed with wealth as himself. :-)

Not only that, but a lot of the kitty cats he had over the years he adopted from shelters. He was a huge cat lover, he spoiled them silly. When he had his house in London, I believe he had a room for each of them.
Jamal or Samuel his name translates sounds a very decent young man who I am sure his uncle Freddie would have been very proud of.

Fantastic that Samuel who is a lovely guy also had this incredible uncle who to this day cannot be beaten in terms of vocal range and performance technique, Freddie Mercury will remain the greatest male vocalist in music forever.
He was 6 years old at Freddie's funeral. He is now, like my son, 36, i.e. born in 1985. There is a photo with him and his sister Natalie. She is 4 years older. I have a magazine "Freddie Mercury . 30 years later. Tribute to on upon" from the series "Remembering the Queen legend", where on the cover Freddie with a microphone in a glove is young. On page 79 is a photo of Samuel and Natalie. (When Freddie's coffin is being carried).

I tried to find out a little more information about Samuel (Jamal).
But I gather that he lives in the USA now. Other than that there's not really any more because as is the young man's right he obviously prefers to remain a very private person.
But best of luck to him in whatever he does and he's so incredibly lucky to have had such a wonderfully talented uncle as Freddie Mercury.

I am not really a big major fan of queen as I didnt really follow them for i grew up as a child in the 80s, but one cannot deny that there have been many talented singers/performers in the late 20th century, however there has not been another freddy mercury. Some people have come close, some even may sound or move like him, but there appears to be something missing which freddy had. Even John Lennon was in awe of him.

I think some people lose the ability to realise that famous people are just people and they have family and friends like the rest of us. They laugh, cry, eat junk, drink,smoke or not, go to bed, get up like the rest of us, watch TV/ films, play games, tell jokes, ring up/ visit their family and friends, they are parents, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grandkids, they meet up at birthdays, Holidays etc. It's nothing to do with their money ,or fame.

Why ask that question about Aids though? Part of the reason I love Freddie is because what I've read regarding how he never complained to the very end despite being in pain, he just got on with making music. When I complain about my depression I think of Freddie and feel a bit ashamed of myself!
